Hi,
I’m very new to this whole weddingbee thing, so excuse me if I don’t quite understand it’s ‘etiquette’ quite yet.
Anyways, I love vintage and antiques! I saw a picture in a bridal magizine of a couple who had floral china for their reception. Ever since I saw that picture I’ve been hooked! I’ve completely scoured the internet looking for someone to rent from, but every renter wont ship to Brighton, Michigan.
For the past four hours I’ve completely exhausted myself as well as every way to word the phrase, “Floral China for Rent” on google. If anyone has ANY advice or knowledge that could get me in the right direction for someone who would rent dishware to me, that would be awesome!

Depending on how many guests you’re having… have you considered collecting them fron garage sales/thrift stores or do you want them to all match? I’m doing a vintage/eclectic type of wedding and even though we’re using quality plastic plates I wanted mis-matched silverware and found some on Craigslist and thrift stores. I can’t wait til the wedding so I can see everything put together.

Yeah, They don’t have to match. I would like to have a color theme, maybe greens and pinks. I’ve looked around ebay, craigslist, amazon, and antique shops. I might end up having to collect them myself. The only problem is getting pretty china for around $3 a piece.

I’ll let you know if I find a renter! I’ll be married in 8 months possibly with a collection of my own. If you’re wedding is a little later maybe you could rent them from me!

@MIBEETOWED: I found this add on Craigslist. The colors don’t match with what I wanted, but maybe it would work well for you!

I am also getting married in about 8 months! LOL
We are set on May 20th.
What’s your color scheme? Mine is gray, pearl, and wine.
I’d happily rent them from you.

@MIBEETOWED: Oh no! Mine is only 13 days after yours! It might be cutting it too close! I would like to help you out though if you’re having a really hard time :). I now know how stressful it can be!
My wedding’s color scheme is pastels. However, the mismatched china I’m buying is white with dark pink roses (since there is so much china of that scheme). I’ve already bought servings for 40 people (tea cups, saucers, desert plates, dinner plates). I’m only buying servings for about 80 people. How many people are in your wedding?

Hello above,
We have just started a new company in northern Michigan for this exact purpose!! My friend was married in August and is now renting all of her vintage china, crystal decanters, cupcake stands, glasses, etc… I believe she has enough for around 400 guests! I’m in the process of building her website and photographing her tableware for hire, but you can get a sneak peek at fancifultables.weebly.com
Or reply to this and I will give you her contact info.
More photos will be posted on the website this week.

I’m wondering if your friend’s rental business is off the ground yet. How far “North” are you in Michigan? My daughter is getting married and we’d love to rent mismatched china for the reception. We live in Plymouth though…we may be too far South of you.
Also, I tried to connect to your website but was unsuccessful.
Thanks!

I got married last summer and spent months looking for china to have the mixed china look. It was beautiful! I currently have full settings for approximately 120 seats, as well as white table clothes and napkins, white and red wine, beer, and champagne glasse, and silverware. I also have about 100 white paper globes/lanterns. I am looking to either rent them or sell them either together or seperately. I am on the eastern side of MI. I have pictures if anyone is interested.
Thanks ๐
