I know in my moms’ wedding, she had orchids with long, silk ribbons coming down cascading from the main bouquet.

Here’s an example of what it looked like sort of:

It had a center bouquet of orchids with trails of silk ribbons and some ribbons with orchids in them/tied or threaded.  Believe it or not, this was actually Jessica Simpsons’ wedding bouquet but it kinda looked like my mom’s in the 60’s.

I LOVE anemones for vintage looking bouquets. If they were in season in July, I would get them! I also love Peonies. Here are some examples.I believe anemones are up until June. They are so pretty and come in white, pink, purple, and red. I think blue, too!

Pink ranunculus is very pretty, too!

I tried to go “vintage” with my bouquet. I was supposed to have David Austin garden roses with mine, but my florist said that they looked bad when they came in. 🙁 Sorry it’s not a better picture of it. I forgot  to tell the photographer to get a picture of it!

The flowers are roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, calla lilly, eucalyptus seeds and leaves.

Here’s a pic of the David Austin garden roses:

@bluebird615:  It is creepy how in tune I am with your reply!  When I read the original post, the three flowers I thought of were peonies, ranunculus, and anemoneas 🙂  I am totally saving that fourth photo for my florist.  That is everything I have been thinking all rolled into one georgeous boquet… Thanks!!!

@miss11.11.11: I wish that I was getting married in season of these flowers! It makes me sad that I can’t use them. So, I’ll have to live vicariously through the ladies that can and look at their pretty bouquets! 🙂 But I’m going to try and use garden roses. I fell in love with them, when I looked up peony alternatives. They are gorgeous, too.

I love cabbage roses – so pretty and elegant! And, of course, peonies.

@bluebird615: The garden roses will be lovely!  What color do you plan to use?

@miss11.11.11: Well, I asked my florist for my bouquet to be various shades of pinks with a little bit of red. Garden roses and dahlias. Apparently they aren’t real easy to get a hold of according to the wholesalers in my area, especially if you want a specific color. I don’t care which color the garden roses are specifically as long as my bouquet in the end has both colors in it! This was the inspiration pic I showed her as far as color scheme, because my bridemsaids are a turquoise:

Well I’m doing a vintage theme summer wedding….so here were some of my ideas for bouquets. I already bought several yards of different vintage ribbons to hang…and I have lots of Ivy at my house for free! My colors are all pastels, with hydrangea, roses, garden roses, mini carnations and wax flowers!
