Thanks for the advice you’ve all already inadvertantly given me (I’ve been creeping this site for almost a year lol!)
I think I have fiiinally found THE DRESS. (after 8 stores, multiple visits, etc) It’s the one I’ve been obsessed with since I saw it online before I’d even started trying on!
MORI LEE 1851.
NOW – HERE’S SOME PICTURES OF ME IN THE DRESS =D!! (Note: It looks a little off on me right now.. I’m fairly small, a size 2-4, the sample they had was a size 10, so it was quite loose)
There are 2 main reasons I want to go with a replica:
1) Cost – we are on a very tight budget for the wedding. We splurged on the venue a little more than we were originally planning, but fell in love, so we have to make cutbacks other place. Also, I really disagree with paying just for a label.
2) I want to make a few changes and customize it a bit. I want to lower the neckline into a slightly deeper V (with wearing a fuller long sleeve dress I do not want to feel super modest or matronly). I’m not wearing sleeves for any religious or modesty reasons.. I just love the vintage look. I also want to lower the back V down to the middle band (so about another inch down), I want the buttons to trail all the way down the skirt in the back to the end of the train, and I want to cut off a good portion of the train (I only want a slight train.)
This is not a simple dress – have you guys heard of any quality replica companies that can do this kind of detail and also some custom changes?

I love it on you. IDK about replicas though you have to be VERY careful with that but I’m also looking at long sleeves 🙂

Those sleeves are absolutely gorgeous! Don’t let anybody even begin to give you a hard time about them. What’s their deal? I adored the long sleeves on my gown and got tons of compliments on them.

I know. I’ve been told that my dress is “dated”. But I think we will look lovely with our long sleeved gowns!!
It’s the only dress I found that had full sleeves. It’s always been my dream since I was kid to where a long sleeved wedding gown. 🙂

Oh, and wish I would have waited until it was on clearance. My parents paid full price! 🙁 Bummer. The sales woman told me that they had the dress for 6 months or so and that only a handful of brides bought it. Long sleeves just aren’t popular anymore and I am sooo in love with long sleeved dresses!

Try Jasmine’s bridal shop. They make fantastic custom lace dresses. Your dress has similarities to another bee… I’ll try and find her thread for you.
They are pretty busy at the moment but you should get it in time for your wedding if you go down this route.

One of my favorite photos from our wedding is a “sleeve shot” of us holding hands:
By The Way I think the Bee with the dress similar to yours is Effie Trinket …?
