Dogmummy:  Both are gorgeous! I love the detail they put into making the vintage rings

My set belonged to my hubby’s grandmother. It’s the sweetest set and very sparkly (I just dont have the right light for that kind of pic at this moment). Here is a low light pic to show the small diamond in the floral illusion setting. There are two tiny diamonds on each side and four tiny ones on the band. What is really neat about this set is that I was messing with the band and I accidentally popped out a tiny tab on the side of it… This tab sticks into a hole under the illusion setting, locking The two rings together! No soldering needed! the set is 1950’s. 🙂

SunflowersInFL:  Wonderful rings! I like how it looks like the metal swirls around the stones. Yes, I have seen those tabs on a few vintage rings, but it seems to be very uncommon these days for some reason?

RayKay:  thank you! his grandma and grandpa had good taste. 🙂  I was beside myself when I discovered this. I hadn’t seen it before. They sure don’t make jewelry the same way anymore. Hubby’s aunts didn’t even know about this and they have had the rings for several years since their mother passed away. One wore the band and the other wore the engagement ring. The one aunt actually offered to have them soldered when she took them to be sized for me. I’m so glad I declined!

I just stumbled across this thread and am totally drooling over it right now.  The more I see vintage rings, especially the illusion head rings, the more I love them.  They all have so much character to them and I feel like they’re the perfect mix of being practical enough to wear everyday without getting in the way while still being pretty, sparkly and not boring.  LOVE!

Oh I love this thread so much!

Here is my set. The ering belonged to DH’s grandmother and the wedding band is a vintage ring we bought separately. My main stone is .20 and the stones in my wedding band total .25. I love the subtle sparkle!!
