So we are most likely doing, along with a scaled down wedding cake, doing a dessert bar. The theme/vibe for the wedding is vintage shabby chic. I need some help brainstorming some old school vintage dessert ideas. I want to avoid desserts that are easily identified as the 50’s era, as its not really the direct we are going.
Any suggestions, ideas for me? Thank you!!

The retro housewives split their recipes up into decades, maybe you can find something here that will help!

I may be off, but to me coffee cakes, or shortbread cookies always seem like very classic desserts that have been around forever!

I was going to suggest the whoopie pie, but you obviously have that with the hearts. Grass hopper pie, bread pudding, and I love ice box cake with graham crackers, banana, and chocolate pudding! Delish! You could also do a smore.
