I had wood siding on my last house and had to paint it every few years, which is a real pain in the rear.  The only draw back that I have seen with vinyl siding is if it is not a good quality siding, then it will get hole easily when something like hale hits it.

We have wood siding right now and it has to be repainted and is allot more maintenance. This summer we are getting vinyl siding. It is allot easier and if it gets dirty you can just spray it down with a hose. I would go with vinyl.

Aesthetically, I would say wood just because I prefer the look of it over vinyl; however, it does require more maintenance.

Our realtor told us “vinyl is final”. We have been there less than a year and from what I can tell, its basically maintenance free. Although I do want to powerwash it next summer.

We had wood growing up and the only difference that I can tell is that its more maintenance. Like the PP’s said, you  have to paint it every few years. I’m also not sure how long wood lasts.

Vinyl unless you’re into the upkeep of wood.

Definitely vinyl unless you’re willing to put the time into maintaining the wood. We had wood siding at my childhood home and staining it was always a pain haha, I really liked the look of it though (:

I love the look of wood siding, but as previous posters have said, it does require a lot of up keep.
