I find that veet doesn’t last any longer than shaving and my skin is sensitive so I can’t repeat it too often. If you have stubble immediately after shaving then you might not be doing it correctly. Shave after a hot shower or bath. Go from ankle to knee, making long strokes and rinsing the razor off with each swipe. Use a shaving gel or baby oil. Rinse legs with cool water, then dry and lotion. It should laat you  day or two.

Not sure why this is for virgin brides, but for my honeymoon (and for long beach vacations), I usually wax my upper legs from my knees through my bikini line, and shave my lower legs.  You have to let your hair grow out for about 2 – 3 weeks before you can get a wax.  A wax will last 2 weeks before hair starts to grow back.  For my upper legs, I would not do that myself, but would go to a reputable salon or spa and have that done.  Get waxed at least 2 days before any big event so any redness goes away.  I shave my lower legs in the shower everyday with a Venus Embrace razor and a women’s shave gel, and shave up from my ankle to knee.  That usually gives me smooth legs for 24 hours.

I recommend epilating. I find that non-professional waxes just don’t give results, but epilating does. It may be painful, but it’s worth it!

@BefuzzledBee:  Yeah the non disposables are better. The closest shave I’ve ever gotten was with a man’s razor. I think it was the Mach 5 or something. The blades are sharper. But you have to be VERY careful because it’s easier to cut yourself. The venus non-disposable razors are all pretty good too.

@BefuzzledBee:  The hair does get much thinner and finer over time. To be honest, I don’t find it sore unless I’m doing my underarms, but I have a high pain threshold. If you push down really hard then it hurts less. Some women also use ice packs on their legs beforehand.

If you are going to shave, I suggest using a good body scrub on your legs beforehand and a good (non disposable) razor. By exfoliating first you will remove the dead skin and buildup on your legs and get and keep your legs much smoother longer.

If you still want to just shave, I recommend using Aveeno shave gel that has a hair minimizer in it…if you use it regularly, the hair will grow back slower and thinner. If you start now, you should get pretty good results by your wedding! I’ve been using it for a while, and even though I don’t shave regularly (my leg hair is blonde and not stiff…and my Fiance doesn’t care), I can defnitley tell a difference in how it grows!

I swim as a sport, and because of that I need to have my body hair under control. I normaly shave with a female razor, the pink ones XD, while on the shower, using creammy body gel. After I use body lotion to make my skin smooth. It takes me about 5 minutes to do my legs, and armpits, and an extra 5 if I’m doing ladie parts too. It lasts 2/3 days. I don’t like wax, im too  pain sensitive 🙁

I cant really shave down there in the bikini area as it gets all itchy and i cant stand it…not into waxing either as very painful…..all I do is give myself a trim so its fairly short, it feels great & I think is nicer for my partner….to trim I use one of those hair buzz cutter things that are meant for the hair on your head:)  ….as for my legs I just shave every day from knee down to ankle.

Years ago I bought a Venus razer and I love it.  Its worth the expense to buy one and some refills.  Get a good shave gel, and shave early in your shower…the longer you wait the more the hot water will “puff” your skin which makes it hard to get a close shave (Read that somewhere).  I get the best shave when the razor is newer and I take my time.

    Good luck!

@BefuzzledBee:  My legs are sensitive to shaving too.  Here are my tips:

    -Buy a Venus Embrace razor.

-Use Aveno Therapeutic Shave Gel (or Aveno Positively Smooth, but the first is better for sensitive skin).

-NEVER shave your legs when you have goosegumps!!

-Pull the razor along your leg slowly with even pressure, not too hard, not too light.  The faster you shave, the more likely you can accidently cut yourself (especially around the ankles).  The newer the razor blade, the slower and lighter you have to go.

-You do have hair on your entire leg, so you’ll want to shave your upper leg too.  You can usually get away with shaving the upper leg less often though.

-Waxing will give you smoother skin for longer.  But you do have to go to a professional salon to get the best results.  I’ve tried waxing at home and it just never works out.  That’s my opinion/experience though.  Good luck!
