Thank you so much!! I know Va has SO many gorgeous options! We are so lucky! It seems though (at least to me) that everything is either rustic-chic or hotel ballrooms that cost an arm and a leg. ugh! I will definitely check out some of the suggestions here. Thank you ladies! Keep ’em coming!!

While it is in the mountains and has a breathtaking view, it is not overly rustic: House Mountain Inn in Lexington. It can easily accommodate 150 or more.

pinktulleaffair: We did go with WW! I believe that it capped out at 160 indoors and definitely does have a rustic, Old European feel. I’m sure you’ll find something lovely! VA has so many options!

pinktulleaffair: Also, the William and Mary Alumni house:

Williamsburg WOULD be a great splace to get married: lots of things for guests to do. You don’t have to be a W&M alum to have a wedding at the beautiful alumni house, either.

If we knew your general budget that would help narrow some places down too OP! My plantation wedding was neither rustic nor hotel ballroom formal – let me know if you want details! 🙂

Hi ladies!
Things I should have mentioned…
I would love is an event space that allows you to pick your own caterer.
Other area we are considering: Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Outer Banks (NC)
General budget: I would like to keep the event rental fee + catering, or food and beverage minimum, below $35,000 if possible

- Wedding: November 2015 - Glen Echo Park
pinktulleaffair: Richmond! Way less expensive, accessible, and reasonable in terms of hotel costs. Check the surrounding areas – there are a lot of venues in the Midlothian area. Or Shockoe Slip. Tons of options w/o the insane NOVA pricetag.

If I had a larger budget, I would have loved to get married at Meadowlark Botanical Garden in Vienna, VA. It was my dream wedding venue, but we just couldn’t afford it and it would have dwarfed our small wedding (40 people with about $12k budget total).

Downside is that I think you have to use their caterer (but I’m not positive, so worth asking). It’s decorated BEAUTIFULLY in all seasons (I think they said they put white pointsettias in all the indoor garden beds in winter), plus they have the winter lights show outside which would make for some gorgeous pictures. I know they also do discounts on winter season events.

Thank you so much ladies!! I think I am loving the Woman’s Club in Portmouth. It looks gorgeous, the perfect miz or rustic/unique and still glamorous. Plus they allow outside catering. Yay!!
Does anyone have any feedback on this place? Thoughts?

I live in Richmond and I have seen some GORGEOUS weddings take place at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA). Also the Omni and Jefferson Hotels are two wonderful choices as well. Good luck!

pinktulleaffair: We had our wedding at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church. You can rent out the entire restaurant for 200people. When we had our wedding it was $75pp++ for app, salad and main course. Wedding cake was included. I don’t remember how much drinks were. What killed us was the hors’d at the cocktail party.
Renting the patio for the wedding was only $300.
But the food was AMAZING (one of the best restaurants in NoVa). And it has a beautiful modern feel to it.

pinktulleaffair: Hi. Are you still looking for a possible venue in NoVA or DC? Please let me know if you would be interested in the Willard Intercontinental in DC. I won a live auction at a recent charity dinner (Chefs for Equality) but found out that I have to use this package before 2017. If you are interested, please let me know and I can share more of the details with you.
