We live in Canada, but are getting married at Disney World. We have been several times before we got engaged, but obviously never with the intent of getting married there. When I talk to my wedding planner, she tells me where we could do certain things like the ceremony, dinner, pictures, etc and I can kinda picture them, but it’s fuzzy. She’s also sending me pictures of flowers and stuff which are very pretty, but it’s not the same as in real life.
Fiance are considering making a whirlwhind trip down (2-3 days) to hammer out some details and really get a good picture. Has anyone done this? Is it helpful or just a waste of money and vacation days?

Some people have traveled down a few weeks before the wedding to do a site visit. We are doing a destination wedding in Cancun and have to be there 3 days before the wedding to finalize details. You could just go early like that, or do a site visit a few months before.
You’ve got to trust that the resort has done this many times before from afar. So if you’re a flexible kind of bride, go with the flow. Otherwise, do the site visit.

We are doing a cruise ship wedding and have our site visit scheduled for next weekend. We’re boarding the ship for a couple hours to see the layout and set up for someone else’s wedding.

we have been to the area we are getting married in but 10 years ago. We are only going to go a few days early to sort out final items, I have confidence they have done enough weddings to get it right.
