A postcard generally is 1 – 1.5 sided (cause you have to leave room for mailing address and stamp). Postage also costs less for a postcard

normal save the date can be double sided and vista print provides free envelopes. Postage is standard /same as mailing a letter

if you have a wedding website or sensitive info anyone handling a postcard will get to see all of the info on there so it’s preference if you care

Because company’s purposely charge more for the same item when it’s labeled as being for a wedding. tongue-out

nicoleivy2004 :  says! The only thing you might get through the invites (I have learned this in playing with it a lot) is the lined envelopes.

Last time I ordered invites for something, I used the postcard side instead and they were almost half the price.

FWIW postcards are also cheaper to send out. They only require a 34 cent stamp whereas a letter is 49 cents or more depending on weight.

Just be careful of the VistAPrint shipping costs.  Consider that as well to see what is really cheapest.

palebluepetals :  oh good point that reminds me of another tip! Before paying, do a Google search for coupon codes. Or, go to Vistaprint (and other online stores) via Ebates.com! Awesome site that gives rebates automatically simply being going to online storefronts via their site.

I used to work for a print company that was basically the same thing as Vista. What I can tell you is that we charged more for one thing vs another but they were basically the same thing. It was a marketing thing to be honest. Our invites would come with envelopes and would cost less than the postcards. The thing that would annoy the hell out of me (and most customers) is that you couldn’t order 2 up on an 8.5 x 11 to save money if you wanted a 5.5 x 8.5 when basically all print companies operate the same in which they are built on “runs” with several other jobs ganged together. Don’t be surprised if the color is inconsistant- it’s normal for that reason also. If you want real cheap postcards, don’t go to Vista, use bargain basement 😉 That is if you don’t have a specific turn around you need to meet.
