I would go with whatever the CMYK color it is. That should let you know how it will print as I believe they print by CMYK.

@lunathea:  I did all of my Save-The-Date Cards and rehearsal dinner invites thru Vistaprint… and I used Illustrator to design them, on a Mac.

The colors on my screen matched the colors I received on the printed product.  But my screen is calibrated for CMYK

well maybe you can look up the cmyk on someone else’s computer?

My vistaprint was slightly darker than on my screen… but it was a night photo we had printed for Save-The-Date Cards

@lunathea:  Sure pm me for my email. Or else just post the proof as an image within this thread.

No matter how your monitor is callibrated you can never guarantee that the colour on your screen will look the same once it’s printed. The only way to guarantee getting the colour you want is to use pantones. I doubt you have access to a pantone swatchbook but you could always look online for suggested CMYK values for the colour eggplant and see how that compares with the CMYK values you’re using on your invites.

Is there anyone in this thread that can help me prepare my STD for uploading to Vistaprint?

I posted another thread but I thought I’d try this one as well….I don’t know much about Illustrator other than I taught myself how to design in it but don’t know any of the technical stuff like “flattening” or how to verify if all my design elements are CMYK.  I know the overall document is, it says so at the top, but when I go to “Print preview” it says two thing:

1) some of the elements in your design require flattening

and

2) some of the elements in your design are in RGB (or something like that)

Can anyone tell me the steps I need to take to prepare my document for uploading onto Vistaprint?

thanks!
