We have had our 1st wedding mishap. We ordered from Vistaprint and they gave us the wrong address on the back of our envelopes. They gave us a whole different name also.
They said they couldn’t fix it in time to send. We need to have mailed these out like 1 month ago!!! Due to the Fiance’s procrastinatiion for the Japanese translation for our guests we ordered close to time. Now we are still without invites and we have Envelopes with an odd size that can’t be found.
6×9 seems to not exist here.
What would you do? I tried to find something to cover it that won’t look tacky. Not sure if thats possible since someone still might see the wrong name and address underneath.

Ugh that REALLY sucks. They can’t express print and ship it to you?! I suppose if it were me and I were out of options, I’d print off labels and stick them on top 🙁 Can you find any really fancy or neat labels in Japan? There’s always way cooler paper products there than in North America!

Yeah they said they couldn’t do express delivery. The quickest will be 2 weeks. We can’t afford that amount of time. I don’t know how that could have happened but I saw it in my cart when I went to double check. For some reason the one we fixed wasn’t in the cart but still in my options. Its just the start of many other disappointments I’m sure.
We could have gone with the options available here but we loved their specials and figured with the price we could order their best quality and customized Thank you cards for our guests and still come out cheaper.
We thought it would be a great way to add variety to out budget. Oh well!!!! I think I am officially a nervous bride.

Aren’t they the ones that messed up!? They should be bending over backwards right now to fix this! You could always just print labels. I don’t think anyone is going to peel them off.

bakerella’s suggestion to maybe just print off a label seems like a good idea. I hope you get it all worked out in time 🙂

I agree with the label over the top. If you’re concerned about the writing underneath showing through, you could always white out over the top of the envelope first (with the little white out tape rather than the liquid) and then place the label over the top. And I’d be asking for a nice refund from VP.

I ordered Save the Date Magnets through Vista Print and the design I made had a border. The machine that cuts the magnets is all automated. Although I left room for cutting error, some sides had no border at all and others has too much space. I called VistaPrint and their customer service rep was great! I’m surprised you had a bad experience! I told them the borders were all miscut and they explained the process and how its automated, apologized, suggested to remove the border to avoid the situation from happening again and printed all new magnets as a rush order. My new magnets arrived in 3 business days and the old ones I kept for arts and crafts. They didn’t charge me anything additional for shipping or anything.
I would suggest to print off labels as well….in the end..the envelopes are just ripped open and thrown in a garbage bin. Don’t sweat the small stuff

It doesn’t sound like it was Vistaprint’s fault- she had the wrong one in her cart.
Regardless, I really think a label/sticker over top will be fine. Make it your return address label, and people will think it was there intentionally.
At this point, I would do whatever is easiest to get those babies out- your wedding is 1 month from yesterday!

Yeah I totally had that in the cart because going through check out they didn’t give me the discount on the correct ones so I had to go back and design it 3 times! When I finally got it in my cart I assumed it was correct. It wasn’t! We were a little flustered by their checkout process since they continually tried to sell us extra products before we finalized. I admit it was my mistake at the end of the day.
However, vistaprint has yet to send the invites as promised! We are still only have envelopes that are incorrect. We received another set of cards, without envelopes as promised! Not sure how that came out of our cart, especially since we selected them.
We really liked vistaprint until now. Oh and the envelopes are rather odd looking. Not nice like I thought they would be. They look like dyed business envelopes. The matching envelopes are definitely not worth the price, especially since you pay an extra $4.00 to get rid of their watermark.
I would say that we might have to make envelopes by hand. I have never done such a thing in my life! But since this size 6X9 isn’t found in Japan, that might be our only option. We saw one website with 20 for $17. They have a business look also. We are contemplating our options.
Sorry!! * I had a vent moment* Where are our invites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@adw2c: I agree with PP, try to find a label you can stick over that – one in a deep color so the wrong name doesn’t show from under the label.
Also, I really love vistaprint’s prices but they sure take quite awhile to ship… even if you pay extra for quicker shipping.

Yeah I paid for the most expsensive shipping. $50! So to update the invites just arrived while I am posting angry messages! However, yet again something is missing. We still didn’t get the seals with our names printed and our wedding date. So we still can’t send these baby’s out. We are currently searching for colorful name tags or something to hide this mans name and address!
The invites look lovely and the postcards look great! I would say that their envelope quality lacks character as well as their shipping abilities. I think they are good for people that have 2 months to wait for everything to arrive.
3 weeks ago, cards
2 weeks ago, envelopes only
today, nearly our whole order
there isn’t any tracking so I don’t know where my seals are.
I think I have a love/hate relationship with vistaprint

Humm so the postal service just delivered the seals after the last box. I offically DON’T hate vistaprint. Slow service internationally and bad quality for envelopes(even without MY mishap), but the actual invitation product looks great! We love it! The postcards great! Seals are ok, maybe if they had more colors for my set.
All in all I am not usually picky. Guess a little stressed to send these babies out. The comany really did their best to accomidate us for the time it took to send. They actually refunded us quite a bit and tried to help us get our order.
We actually used them many times back in America and everything went smoothly. So I would say to avoid international orders.

Call them back and demand that you receive the corrected ones within a few days! I had a problem with some save the dates I ordered from them and they corrected the problem for me asap. Be assertive!!!

@adw2c: So glad you got everything! Any pictures of the finished product? No biggie if you don’t feel like sharing, I’m just curious to see what vistaprint offers beside postcards.

Yeah and mine was done through vistaprint japan so I assumed that the order would arrive quicker but its still international! So shipping is strange. Products arrive in seperate packages so it can get quite annoying. I was thinking when they stated it on their website that we would receive the invites with envelopes and not scattered pieces! We were so confused.
