Mrs. Porcupine used their rendition of Hey There Delilah as she walked down the aisle, as is Mrs. Dolphin who also used Bittersweet Symphony, and Mrs. Wizard used Just Like Heaven and 1979. Mrs. Pony loves Coldplay and used their covers of The Scientist, Yellow, and Vida la Vida

Good Luck, they have so many good songs that would be great!

I used Paramore’s Hallelujah even though I strongly, strongly dislike Paramore.  The VSQ version is pretty epic sounding though and it was perfect for our recessional.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81XL32QK1p8

Yes!  I love Vitamin String Quartet!  I really appreciate the fact that they cover songs in pretty much any genre you can think of, so there’s really something for everyone.

That being said, I haven’t hammered out all of the music details yet.  I have, however, decided that I am definitely walking down the aisle to their version of Elliott Smith’s “Say Yes.”  It was very important to me to incorporate Elliott Smith’s music into my wedding (I know, I’m weird when it comes to things like this), but pretty much all of his songs are incredibly sad.  This was the compromise with my fiance.  I even let him choose which VSQ Elliott Smith cover he liked best, and this one won.  Smile

I’d also like to play some other VSQ songs while people are being seated prior to the ceremony and during other portions of the ceremony … I just haven’t decided which ones yet.  There are so many great choices!

I was thinking of VSQ’s version of “Wonderful Tonight” for the bridesmaids.

I’m debating between their versions  of “In Your Eyes” or “All I Want Is You”

I’m thinking “Your Guardian Angel” (originally by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus). I absolutely love this song, but fiance thinks the lyrics sound depressing to someone who hasn’t heard them before, but the VSQ version is beautiful!

I’m stuck between “Just Like Heaven” and “Here Comes Your Man”. There are so many awesome choices though!

Allllllllll of our ceremony music was VSQ because I simply could not choose!

Our prelude was covers of:

  • Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
  • Just the way you are by Bruno Mars
  • Falling Slowly
  • Seasons of Love from Rent
  • Sampson by Regina Spektor

The processional went:

  • Mr. D and honored guests to “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay
  • Bridesmaids to “Bubbly” by Colbi Calliat
  • I walked down the aisle to “Yellow” by Coldplay

The song we walked back out was”

  • “Salisbury Hill” by Peter Gabriel

And our recessional was:

  • “I’m Yours” Jason Mra
  • “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys
  • “Speechless” by Lady Gaga
  • “You make loving fun” Fleetwood Mac
  • “Hey Ya” by Outkast

We might use thier Bittersweet symphony for groom and Yellow for me but not sure. I like some of their music but our ceremony will be outside so I feel like violin sounds would not have as much impact as I would want. mmm. I can see it working beautifully in a cute little church or something though. We should probably rehearse the songs beforehand and see how it works.

For years I planned on walking down the aisle to VSQ “Everlong” by the foo fighters. I love that song and it has always been “our song”. I have just recently decided that one of the groomwmen will sing it instead as we walk down the aisle so no more VSQ.

I had a live string duo at my ceremony, and they played songs “inspired by” VSQ (aka, real songs I picked out). Then we played all VSQ music during cocktail hour. Wish I could have been to to hear it! 🙂 Love their stuff.

@mrsrecon:  It’s a very important part of our relationship and therefore the day. I will walk down the aisle to it and it may also be our first dance. We are also getting wedding tattoos after with lyrics from the song.

Do you plan on using it? if so, how?
