So I discovered Vitamin String Quartet…I’m in love! I have decided to play their songs during the ceremony. My problem is I can’t decide which songs to pick, they are all so good. I’ve seen that alot of you have used them, so give me some good ideas on which songs you liked. So far I only know that my wedding party will walk to Chasing Cars. I really need something (or two) for the parents to walk into and also music to play while guests are being seated. I’m for sure going to have Don’t Stop Believing, Halleluja, and Don’t want to miss a thing. On my iTunes preview, Smells Like Teen Spirit oddly sounds very pretty. Any thoughts/suggestions!

Oooh our whole ceremony was VSQ. We had such a hard time narrowing down the choices.
Parents/Grandparents: At Last (Etta James)
Bridesmaids: Somebody to Love (Queen) This was everyone’s favorite, hands down.
Me: Your Guardian Angel (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus…husband picked it!)
Recessional/Postlude: All You Need Is Love, God Only Knows (Beatles)

These are great, I’m gonna have to look up At Last.
Keep those Ideas coming.

Their version of Use Somebody is great. Wonderwall and Sweet Disposition are fantastic, too.

We are having a string quartet plays the VSQ versions of songs:
Bridesmaids: Your Song-Elton John
Me: Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton
Recessional: You Shook Me All Night Long-AC/DC (our contact witht he quartet said “we’ve done a TON of rock songs….NO ONE has ever asked for this one! ” lol)

I love their Sweet Child of Mine if you can work it in!

We used VSQ’s covers of “Clocks” by Coldplay, “Your Song” by Elton John, “”Grand Theft Autumn” by Fall Out Boy, “”Crash” by Dave Matthews Band, and “Through the Fire and Flames” by Dragonforce (this last one was totally a pick by Darling Husband, as he quoted “it is SO fun to play in Rockband!!” LOL) for the music played while people were entering the ceremony site and sitting down.
Our bridal party walked to VSQ’s “Dare You To Move” cover of Switchfoot.
Our recessional was VSQ’s “All You Need is Love” cover of the Beatles.

ok I have a question….I see you all listed separate songs for each set of people walking down the aisle (groom and groomsmen, bridesmaids, bride etc) so are you actually playing the entire song? Meaning…it will take 12 more mins at least to get everyone down the aisle? How are you stopping and starting if you’re not playing the whole songs?
I’m confused lol!

@Aisling10: The guy running the sound system at our venue faded the songs out to make way for the new songs if we had more song time left once the group of people was done entering. We ran through it at rehearsal to get the timing right.

Stolen! Their Dashboard Confessional cover is one of my favorite songs.

We used Wonderful Tonight & Just Like Heaven for the processional. Our DJ already had a standard VSQ playlist for the pre-ceremony music, I have no idea what was on it but I trusted his judgement.

My Fiance wants us to walk back down the aisle after the ceremony to VSQ “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen. Oy vey!

@mrs_pugetsound: Ok, I’ve seen lots of people play All you need is love. Unfortunitaly my iTunes only plays the first 30 seconds or so of the song and it sounds like something from the civil war with the drums at the begining. That song is one of my favorites by the Beatles, please tell me the rest of the song is better?

I love VSQ too! …that’s all, the suggestions above are great. If you click around on youtube you can listen to full versions of a lot of songs.
