I am getting married in a chapel on a college campus. It doesn’t have any music options except a cd player so I am hiring someone. My dj will do the ceremony for an extra $250. The vocalist I like would do it for $450.. is it really worth the extra cash for a 30 min ceremony?

Personally, I really love live music for the ceremony. However, I think a vocalist would sound much better accompanied. It sounds like there is no piano or organ, but perhaps you could hire a harpist to play with the singer. Though $450 seems like a lot for one person for less than an hour. If I were in your place, I would hire just a harpist or maybe a string duo/trio/quartet (talk to the admin at your school’s music department – you could get students to play for less money). I don’t know if it’s important to you to have a singer, though.
