I have the classic six prong setting from blue nile. .and I’m in love.  The Diamond is a 0.6 carat so not anything close to 1.25 and I don’t think the prongs are too overpowering if at all. The band still looks very much delicate I think. Hand size : 8

For comparison, I have the Nouveau Knife edge! 🙂

I have a 1.52 ct but my finger size is close to yours, 5.5, though this band size is a 6 for the time being. I love it, but for what it is worth, I would never call these prongs “claw.” The side view is pretty, but in the end, it’s a mass produced (molded) setting so it’s not going to look truly delicate unless you have someone make the head by hand. That being said, I don’t think they overpower the diamond at all anyway! Hope this helps!

sarahch:  You can edit as many times as you like, but you have to do so within one hour of originally posting it.

PS: the height of the knife edge on this band is on the high side. It looks great that way so I like it, but it definitely takes getting used to wearing. It can be uncomfortable on days when my fingers are very swollen (like from humid weather) as it presses into your middle and pinky fingers on the sides. But that’s not most of the time, and I think it’s worth it anyway. Just something I hadn’t considered.

OP- I don’t have either rings, but if I were to buy a setting from bluenile it would most definitely be the Nouveau 6 prong knife edge. I love how dainty the shank is and how the head seems to be somewhat rounded. The prongs are much more understated than the ones on the classic knife edge. It’s just gorgeous!

sarahch:  Judging from the realistic photos of the other bees they both look lovely. I personally would go with the second option, classic 6 prong. I like it more from the front and back sides.

I dont like the prongs on the classic 6-prong claw one. They look too big and bulky. The knife edge solitaire is much prettier imo.

sarahch:  I have not tried wedding bands on yet, but here it is next to a Blue Nile ring sizer that I had handy. Incidentally, I am apparently actually a size 5. There is a sliver of a gap but not very noticeable.

sarahch:  No problem. Don’t mind an opportunity to share more pics of this beauty haha! Mine is white gold, but since I’ve only had it for a month I can’t really speak to how it will “wear.” So far so good, though!
