@stuckinwonderland:

I don’t have pics as I have not chosen my dress yet. I am wearing a wedding gown without a train or veil. Etiquette dictates that a bridal gown is not to be worn at a vow renewal, but I am bending that rule so that my mother can see me in a wedding gown. My parents were very hurt when I eloped so I can do a little something to make my mom happy.

My husband is wearing a classic black and white tux.

We are having 18 guests in a small venue. My husband and I prefer small and intimate gatherings. This venue has packages which include food and photography.

Our ceremony will be pieces of our original wedding ceremony, with some extras and words changed. We will exchange new rings.

We have more than two years to our vow renewal, but I am planning it already because I am so excited. Our wedding was awful for many reasons and I want to have new, happier memories.

This is the dress I have for our Destination Wedding next month, but I’ve had it dyed a red-tangerine color, same as my original wedding dress 🙂

– We’re up to about 20 guests at the moment, just close family and friends.

-Staying at a resort, so we’re using the resort’s beach gazebo and garden.

-I wanted to do traditional vows, same as we did at our wedding. But Darling Husband thought this time around we might try writing our own, so I’ve agreed to that. Writing vows is hard though!

These are possible choices from dressilyme. I trust that retailer since I have seen some Bees post with pictures of their gowns from dressilyme. They apparently make excellent dresses. I wanted some pouf since my first dress was form fitting and simple. I want to look different in the vow renewal pictures as well. It was important for me not to have a train on my gown.

@stuckinwonderland:  How long since you got married? Will this be your first “wedding”? If so, I don’t see anything wrong in having a full out wedding dress. Just do what you want to do regardless of is “right”. People just want to be there to celebrate the love!

@stuckinwonderland:  If you planned a wedding but child’s health, then your health got in the way, then this isn’t a vow renewal. Your wedding got postponed!! Bride is a state of mind. I would have a full on wedding every year if I could afford it! F*** everyone else. If you want to be a princess on your day, then be a princess! If they have a problem with that, then they can just F-off!

You probably have just had 3 really hard years–celebrate, celebrate, celebrate!!

@stuckinwonderland:

Your marriage has clearly survived some difficult times. That deserves a celebration.

Sorry to hear that your cancer is not yet in remission. I hope that you will experience good health soon, so that you can celebrate the way you want.

What are you planning to wear to vow renewal?  Didn’t pick out my dress yet…I think I’m going to do something semi-formal

How many guests are you having? about 45 to 50

What type of venue are you using? Ball room.

Are you writing your own vows or using traditional-ish ones? Not sure yet, probably writing our own since we did the traditonal ones originally.

My husband and I just recently renewed our wedding vows on our 10th anniversary which was September 21, 2013. Our motivation and inspiration to renew was due to our 8yr old daughter who was not born when we got married in 2003. For the vow renewal I wore a black Mori Lee bridesmaid dress style 284 and my husband wore a black suit with white shirt. All three of our adult children were attendants, two boys wore black suit with white shirt, oldest daughter wore black and white short dress and our youngest daughter the flower girl wore a black and white flower girl dress by Jordan fashion style L310. We had 75 guest in attendance and held the ceremony outside at Trump National Golf Course with a brunch reception immediately following. We chose to write our vows this time around and it was absolutely amazing. Only have my proof book at this time so cannot show any pics yet.

I say go for whatever your heart desires. It’s all about you and your husband and family is the most important thing in the world. Congrats and Good Luck!

Well, this is all tentative since we haven’t officially decided to renew our vows, but I am really hoping for a vow renewal in 2015, so I’ll join in and reply! =)

What are you planning to wear to vow renewal?  (pics please!)

     -Definitely a wedding dress and veil. I know some people think that vow renewals shouldn’t have traditional bridal attire, but I’m in the “do whatever makes you happy” camp with vow renewal stuff.

How many guests are you having?

     -None. It will be just our children, and maybe their godparents. It’s kind of half a vow renewal and half a ceremony to celebrate completing our family with our children. Also, since we had a big wedding, I don’t feel comfortable asking anyone to go out of their way to attend a vow renewal (and since most of our family/friends are out of town, it wouldn’t be particularly convenient for anyone).

What type of venue are you using?

       -We will use the church at our college where we met.

Are you writing your own vows or using traditional-ish ones?

       -I think we will write our own, since I want to work in a lot of stuff about our children.
