I always wanted to do personalized vows. I am a cryer, though, and even reading some of them online here I start to tear up. When I cry I can barely talk sometimes! I don’t even know what I’m going to be like during our ceremony. Does anyone have any suggestions for vows for a cryer? Would it weird for our officiant to say the vows (found some i love below) and then him ask if this is how we feel, or what we believe, and have just us say I Do? Or would that be weird if we don’t actually say them ourselves?
I love you. You are my best friend.
Today I give myself to you in marriage.
I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you,
and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle.
I promise to love you in good times and in bad,
when life seems easy and when it seems hard,
when our love is simple, and when it is an effort.
I promise to cherish you, and to always hold you in highest regard
These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life.

Ok first of all…yep – I totally teared up at your vows! So sweet 🙂
What if you exchanged notes with your own personal vows either together (at a first look, if you are doing one of these) or you could each open them in private before the ceremony? Then you could do the standard “I do” vows in the ceremony itself. You would get all (ok a little bit haha) of your crying out before the ceremony so that you can touch up your make-up before and then hopefully still be able to talk in the ceremony!

personally i think its more meaningful if you actually say the words your self

Thanks for the advice! I can’t take credit for those vows above…found them on weddingbee! I was going to have us write our own (and still might) but just saw those and they were so great.
I really like the idea of sayiing them at our first look. Or maybe in my case it will be better in just a note he can read before the ceremony.
I seriously turn ugly-face can’t speak when I cry 🙁
