We are writing our own vows.. I wrote these up today but I’m not sure if they’re too long?? And I’m also not sure about the style. What do you think?
“You are my inspiration and my soul’s fire
You help me laugh and teach me love
You provide a safe place for me, unlike I’ve ever known
You are more of an amazement to me each day I rediscover you
With my whole heart, I take you as my husband
I promise to respect you, honor you, and cherish you
I promise to be faithful and supportive and to always make our familys love and happiness my priority
I will be yours in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph
I will dream with you, celebrate with you, and will walk with you hand-in-hand wherever our journey leads
You are my love and my life, today and always
I love you.”

Are you going to read them to each other, or will your officiant prompt you? If you just read them to each other, I definitely don’t think they are too long. They’re beautiful!
I would never be able to make it through all of those words without crying, so that’s the only reason it’d be too long for me. 😉

i agree with Gemstone, they are beautiful (i may of watered up a bit reading them) so for that reason i think they may be a tad long to remember/ say if you choke up on tears like i would.

We will read them, they’re too long to repeat! I just think that the beginning style and the ending style might be too different? Maybe I’ve been looking at them too long and can’t tell 🙂

I think they’re awesome, personally. To me, it feels like you’re starting with a description of your love and then inserting some more “traditional” language about sickness, health, etc, and it flows great!
