Hey! I posted a while ago and found a ton of Vitamin String Quartet songs on iTunes!!!!! Thanks, All!
Just curious what songs everyone is using for prelude (seating of guests–10+ min?) and processional….mind sharing please? I’m planning on using their ‘All I Want is You’ (U2) for my bridal entrance, and we’ll be using some upbeat contemporary song for the recessional. Just sort of stuck on the front end of the ceremony song-wise, but I know it HAS to be VSQ!! Your suggestions/feedback is appreciated!

Ooh! This is exactly what we did, and I spent HOURS sampling VSQ songs in iTunes to find ones that were happy and upbeat (sometimes songs translate into the string version as super dramatic and depressing, even if the original isn’t), and that people would recognize.
I LOVE All I Want is You for your processional! I was between that one and God Only Knows, which I ultimately went with because Darling Husband liked it better.
For our prelude music, we used the VSQ covers of:
Sweet Child O’ Mine (Guns n Roses)
Hollywood Nights (Bob Segar)
Don’t Stop Believing (Journey)
1, 2, 3, 4 (the shirts, or white t’s or whatever they’re called… can’t remember at the moment)
Somebody to Love (Queen)
Sweet Home Alabama (Lynard Skynard)
Piano Man (Billy Joel)
Good Life (Kanye West)
Roll Me Away (Bob Segar)
Hey There Delilah
Night Moves (Segar)
Back in Black (ACDC — this was actually for our processional for the guys)
You’re My Best Friend (Queen — processional for the girls)

Thanks so much, Witz! VERY helpful! Wow, you had all of those for the prelude?? I wasn’t sure how much time we needed to cover or how many songs to choose for that, so, looking at your list now I have a little more to go on! Much appreciated!
Would you recommend doing all VSQ cover songs for the prelude? I was waffling between doing that (for consistency) or doing some contemporary, actual songs for the prelude, then doing the processional, etc. in VSQ. Maybe staying consistent with the VSQ throughout is the better way to go? Thoughts?
Thanks again, Witz!!!!!

We’re using a lot of piano instrumentals (David Nevue and Jim Brickman primarily) for all the pre-ceremony music, and then VSQ’s “Hallelujah” (Paramore version) right before the processional to get everyone’s attention! I love that version!
I wouldn’t recommend it for ALL the music, because it’s kind of intense depending on the songs. But if going with them I would stick to instrumentals.

My favorite VSQ covers are:
Yellow by Coldplay
Stolen by Dashboard Confessional
The Reason by Hoobastank

We’re using their wedding disc for a lot of the prelude music. The parents are coming in to their cover of Jeff Buckley’s version of Hallelujah, the girls and dudes are coming in to The Section quartet’s version of Such Great Heights, and I am coming in to the VSQ version of Paramore’s Hallelujah 9even though I haaaaate Paramore!)

I love the cover of Cars. I’m thinking of using it for when the moms and bridal party walk in.

We used VSQ!

Chasing Cars- Snow Patrol
Love Story- Taylor Swift
Hallelujah- Jeff Buckley
Your Song- Elton John
The Reason- Hoobastank
Hey Jude- The Beatles
Wonderful Tonight- Eric Clapton
God Only Knows- The Beach Boys
Bridesmaid Processional: Waltz No. 3- Elliot Smith

Our recessional song was not VSQ, but we used You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne.
