Im sure it made someone somewhere feel better about themselves which is sad to think, but most likely true. Ive seen some ugly (in my opinion) dresses on this site but I keep my mouth shut! lol. If I cant think of anything nice to say, I move on to another post!! Everyone should be entitled to love their dress.

I think “overdone” dresses are only that way to us who are planning. I bet nobody around you knows what that dress is or has worn it. I think if you love it you should buy it and wear it.

@happygirl25: Overdone? Absolutely not! On YOUR day you wil be the only one wearing that dress and all eyes will be on you! 🙂 Like PP’s said, as brides we’re just more exposed/sensitive to wedding gowns since we’re all over the wedding websites etc. so the thought that the dress is ‘overdone’ is not very accurate.

I totally feel you though. I’ve been in love with a Vera (from the White line) gown too, and have loved it ever since 2 years ago. My wedding’s in 2014 also and I have the dress hanging in my closet now. I’ve seen several brides with the dress on websites but it’s not ME in the dress. That’s the difference.

Also, just saying if I was a guest at your wedding and even though I’m wedding-obsessed, I have not seen Gemma in person so my reaction upon seeing it would be “OMG I am actually seeing it in the flesh! *mouth drops open in awe* I would never think “ew I’ve seen that dress a million times.”

I’ve never seen Gemma at a wedding or know anyone who’s worn it. In the internet world plenty of brides have supposedly worn it and it’s a well known gown for BRIDES, but for those people not getting married or not paying attention to the world of weddings (and really, unless you’re getting married why would you be paying that much attention to this stuff??) they’ll think the dress is as unique and beautiful as every other wedding gown. And plus, even if a few people have seen the gown before and know of it, they haven’t seen YOU in it and that’s totally different. If you love the gown, get it!

Other Bees mention a lot of “overdone” dresses on here because it’s popular on the Bee, Pinterest, etc., but this does not necessarily reflect the real worlhd. More often, certain styles and details are what tend to be overdone (ex. pickups, sweethearts, belts/sashes, etc.). Does that keep brides who wear these styles from looking beautiful and unique? Nope, because it’s not just about the dress you wear, but how you wear it and how you accessorize.

Generally, no1curr about popular wedding gown styles except other brides. Also, the Gemma on one bride will look way different than on another. If you love it, popularity should not be what’s keeping you from wearing what you love.

I have seen alot of ladies with that dress, but that’s only because I’m on the bee!

In real life, I’ve never seen it on a bride, so I don’t think it’s overdone.

In real life, no dresses are overdone because almost all of them are differant!

@happygirl25:  I don’t think Gemma by Vera Wang is overdone at all. It’s my dream dress, and the fact that it is a couple years old makes it even more special to wear it!

As someone said above, if you love it then wear it and feel gorgeous in your Vera Wang, not very many brides get to wear a Vera Wang gown.

happygirl25:  I know it’s been sometime since your sept nuptials, but would you consider reselling your Gemma?  I’m looking for one for my March 2016 wedding but can’t afford to pay full pop 🙁
