Yes! My boyfriend and I went and picked out and ordered the ring together about a month ago.  We normally carpool to work together but one day last week we had to drive separate and he tells me he’s leaving a little earlier and I’m like cool see you at home. I run an errand after I leave work and he still hadn’t gotten home! So I beat him home and text to make sure he’s alive and he says he’s on his way home. When he did get home he locked himself in the guest bedroom for like 3 min and he never goes in there! Wouldn’t say where he was but was doing that cute thing where he’s trying not to smile. I’m 99.9 certain the ring is in there 😉 and I’m so anxious waiting! We also have a vacay set for the end of may where I’m pretty sure he’s planning to ask 🙂 guess we’ll see!

Too funny! Your story and mine are really similar. We basically knew we wanted to get married from the beginning. We’ve been together about 13 months now. He had me send him info on rings I liked a few months ago and  lately he’s been saying things like “You’ll be my Mrs soon” and “This finger will look so pretty with a big rock on it” while playing with my ring finger.

April 1 the store I looked at rings at was having a big sale. He got up early that day (which he NEVER does on a weekend) and was gone for maybe 2 hrs. When he got home he was super vague about where he’d been (he claimed he was grocery shopping) and immediately rushed to the bedroom. (I have a hunch he was hiding ta receipt or some paper work in there). Some guys just can’t keep a secret!

So I thing I can kind of top you all. My bf is terrible at keeping a secret because he just gets too excited. I had figured it out the day he went shopping, and he knew I knew but we seemed to have an understanding that I wasn’t going to ask details.

Well, the day after Christmas we were running some errands and passed a Kay’s or one of the other jewelry chains. Feeling smug about a “deal” he scored going with an independent broker, he looks at the store and says, “I want to go in and see what a platinum 1 carot cushion halo ring costs THERE!” I just stopped dead in my tracks with my mouth agape, he looked devastated. I felt really, really bad but it was also hilarious.

In the end it was a good thing because then I connected him with my friend who is a gemologist and it turned out his “deal” was actually a terrible stone. He ended up learning all about the 4C’s and purchased a stone he was in love with, and it’s currently at our house waiting for something he has planned next month.

My Fiance thinks he is really good at keeping a secret and in all fairness, most of the time he is. Unfortunately for him, he let one too many details slip about our engagement and I was able to piece together that it was going to happen on or around my birthday. He actually said once that the engagement would happen before I turned 30, but then he forgot he had said that to me. Then another time he said he wouldn’t propose to me on my actual birthday, which threw me for a loop. However, a couple weeks before the fact he kept telling me to keep the Friday before my birthday open because he had plans for us. He was really secretive and wouldn’t tell me what they were, which was a mistake because I figured out that it was a proposal. If he had made something up instead of trying to be sly, I never would have guessed.

In all fairness though, I was so wrapped up in the engagement that I didn’t even notice that he had been planning a surprise birthday party and it caught me totally off guard.
