Relationship length: less than a year

A few words to describe yourself: affection, sarcastic, usually bored

A few words to describe your SO: hilarious, charismatic, loving

WaitingBee Words of Wisdom (brief sentence): Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy being with someone you love who loves you back!

Comments (for longer story if you wish): My boyfriend and I haven’t been dating that long.  He just moved in with me about a month ago and things are amazing. He’s the funniest, most caring, thoughtful, sweetest, and handsomest man I know!  I didn’t list our occupations because they’re nothing special.  My boyfriend will be doing a career change in a few months and then start saving for a ring πŸ™‚

Location: central NY

Age: 25

Occupation: Right now I don’t have one

SO’s age: 25

SO’s Occupation: He works for a hospital

How you met: In college, he was working at Dunkin Donuts at the time and had brought in a box of them. I was really hungry and asked if I could have one. He sat down next to me and the rest is histoy.

Relationship length: 7 years

A few words to describe yourself: bubbly, usually optimistic, crafty, pretty introverted

A few words to describe your SO: bearded (no really, his beard is huge), loud, outgoing, funny

Interests: nails! I have a serious obsession with nails and hope to become a nail tech. I enjoy poi and hula hooping (as flow arts), too. I like to play video games, and am contstantly online.

Kids?/Pets?: No kids, don’t want kids. I have a dog, Mikko. I’m going to have to leave him at my parents house when I move out though because SO has EXTREMELY bad allergies, and there is no way he could live with a golden retriever

Guilty pleasures: horrible ‘reality’ tv, celeb gossip, emoticons

WaitingBee Words of Wisdom (brief sentence): Dont give up!!

Comments (for longer story if you wish): I feel like I just jumped into these boards and never really introduced myself, so I’m hoping this might help out a bit. Although SO and I officially met in college, we had participated in a lot of activities together unknowingly.. competed in karate tournaments, gone to Disney World in the same WEEK in 4th grade, been in all-county chorus (ok, I found out he had a solo and used to watch him on repeat with the tape that my dad recorded one year like a little creep before I knew who he was, lmao!!) and summer school, but never really actually met until he had donuts, LOL. I’m dreaming of a Christmas engagement, but trying not to get my hopes up πŸ™‚

How you met: okc! I wasnt really expecting to find someone so quality, but I got lucky πŸ™‚

Relationship length: Five months(i know). we’re brand new in the game.. but when you know, you know..

A few words to describe yourself: quiet, introspective, idealistic, quirky

A few words to describe your SO: hard working, shy, spontaneous, so very goofy

Interests: I love wine, nature, and reading. He loves fitness, movies, and thrill-seeking. We both love art, travel, foooooood, and animals.

Guilty pleasures: junk food, shopping, forums πŸ˜‰

WaitingBee Words of Wisdom (brief sentence): Patience is a virtue.. everything in due time.

Comments (for longer story if you wish):  I’ve been a casual lurker of WB for a bit longer than Id like to admit haha.. but life is strange. I was never the type to imagine and plan out a ~dream wedding~.. really for a long time I debated whether or not it’d ever be in the cards for me to get married.. but one day, I saw the most beautiful ring while surfing the web and it led me to this website. I’ve since caught the bug and have satisfied the majority of my wedding cravings by living vicariously through the lovely folks on this site πŸ˜‰

Anyhow, I figured it’d be okay to add myself to the roster officially since I have been utterly blessed with the most fantastic relationship I’ve ever had. We havent set down any concrete plans, but there have been enough abstract conversations for us both to be confident that we are on the same page as far as our plans for future committments go.

One of these days I’m gonna marry this man. Until then I’ll be waiting, ever so patiently :)))

SO’s Occupation: Banking

How you met: an online dating site

Relationship length: Our one year anniversary is coming up on 1/12/14.

A few words to describe yourself: adventurous, passionate, introverted, DIY-obsessed

A few words to describe your SO: Charming, kind, funny, a little nerdy (in a good way)

Interests: food, music, art, photography, fitness

Kids?/Pets?: Two cats (~2 yrs old) and a dog (6 yrs old)

Guilty pleasures: ridiculous pop music, trashy reality tv

WaitingBee Words of Wisdom (brief sentence): Enjoy and fully live in the present moment.

Comments (for longer story if you wish): While we haven’t been together for quite as long as some of the other bees on the waiting boards, I am absolutely convinced that we are soulmates (a concept that I never believed in before) and could not be more sure that he is the man that I am meant to spend my life with. We have lived together for the past 4 months and he recently asked me my ring size and to let him know if I had any preferences for a certain cut/style. I guess that means I am officially waiting now! πŸ™‚

Comments (for longer story if you wish):

We have only been together for a year, but we both knew early on it was right. We have decided that I am picking my own ring, and he is going to purchase and hide it while I wait and go crazy. Hence, the lurking on the bee- especially in the rings and waiting sections! πŸ™‚ Currently in the process of trying to decide what ring I want!

How you met: Online Dating

Relationship length: 2 years

A few words to describe yourself: Generous, creative, straight up, witty

A few words to describe your SO: Protective, intellegent, precise, funny

Interests: Baking, Reading, Photography, Wine, DIY

Kids?/Pets?: A cat, No kids

Guilty pleasures: Chocolate, Wine, Bridal Magazines, 1000 threadcount sheets

WaitingBee Words of Wisdom (brief sentence): If he’s your ONE, he’s worth the wait.

Comments (for longer story if you wish): We both went into the relationship with a longterm/marriage view, recently started talking more seriously and about developing a timeline on our combined goals. We want to have children and time isn’t too heavily on my side, so we bot agreed to condensing the engagement, marriage and babies into the next 3 years – easy, until you add 12 months worth of overseas deployment in the mix! SO has been away for 3 months, home for 2, now been gone 4 months and due home in March.

We decided to wait for his return before a proposal and planning would take place as we both want to be involved and he felt it would be wrong to propose then go away. I was always going to be involved in choosing a style of ring – I’m quite particular about jewelery and he was keen to pick together.

While SO was home in July, we went ring browsing – not intending to buy or choose anyhting at that point, but stumbled upon a lovely ring that just felt right (even though quite different to what I had first imagined I’d want) and was heavily reduced. We slept on the decision and decided to go for it, putting it on lay-away. I’ve been dutifuly going to the store to make payments and 2 weeks ago got to bring my bling home – so exciting, but sad at the same time knowing that SO is away for a few more months and it’s still not official.

I’ve been pinteresting and reading lots of wedding blogs, getting plenty of ideas and daydreaming about our big day and how he will propose – but more than anything, I am looking forward to having him home and building our future together. Kiss

Guilty pleasures: One Direction. Love them.

WaitingBee Words of Wisdom (brief sentence): Don’t drive yourself crazy…it will happen when the time is right.

Comments (for longer story if you wish): Boyfriend and I recently went ring shopping…and by recently I mean yesterday. It was his idea to make an appointment with a sales consultant, and was willing to visit other stores post-appointment. I take that as a fantastic sign! Originally, he stated that he would be “ready” to be engaged around our two-year anniversary, so I’m thinking that a proposal will happen within 9-13 months.

Comments (for longer story if you wish): We started discussing a design with the jeweler last summer (June 2013).  He asked my dad permission over Thanksgiving, but it’s starting to look like it won’t happen until May 2014.  I was never ring crazy until we started looking at rings and went to the jeweler.  Now, the element of surprise is killing me!
