Hey Yall!

I am a new member to WB, but I have been lurking on this website for awhile now.  I am 21 and my boyfriend is 24.  We have been dating for almost 3 years now and I am totally ready to get married and live happily ever after.

We met through mutual friends and we were both actually dating different people when we met.  A few weeks after we met, both of us ended both of our long time relationships with our ex’s and started hanging out soon after.  We have been together ever since!

We have talked about getting married, just now in the waiting boat.

I have been planning and thinking about my future wedding since I was little and I love doing DIY stuff.

I can’t wait to get to know everyone!

Hello ladies!

I’ve been lurking for a few months, and thought I might as well register and join the fun & fellowship!  I enjoy checking out the DIY projects, and am getting inspired to create.  I will be an encore bride in my mid 40s.  I work with senior citizens and my BF is employed by the government.

My BF & I have been together 1 year.  I jokingly refer to our love story as a “Lifetime Movie”, since it’s a little sappy and corny.  But, here goes: We were each other’s first loves over 30 years ago.  Family (mine) made us break up, we lived our lives, pursued careers and married and divorced others.  Fast forward to 2010, he found me on Facebook and we corresponded for 1 month before deciding to meet in person.  And when we did-Pow!  We’ve been inseparable ever since.  I didn’t know it was possible to have a best friend and a lover all in one!

Although I told him I didn’t need one, he insisted (awww) on going shopping for an e-ring last August.  I gave him a few ideas, but he wants me to be surprised (me too).  I only hope he’s done his homework on the 4Cs, although emeralds have really been catching my eye lately.  I’m a bargain hunter, and want to make sure he got a good deal.  He has a few payments left, so I anticipate a proposal before the summer.

I look forward to us getting to know each other.  Thanks for letting me play!

Hello Everyone, I used to think that I had this long complicated story, but after reading some of these posts I don’t feel so bad…so BF and I have been together on and off for 5years next month (yay!) and we’ve both known practically since that first week that we were going to be together forever. Its been a roller coaster ride and a definite test of patience since we’ve also been long distance for about 3years-I moved, he traveled for work, then I moved again, and plan to move back and live together this summer. Anyway I since I’m closer to 30 than I would like to be, I told him last month that we were getting married Summer 2012. He said okay. I even double-checked to make sure that it just wasn’t an “okay sure whatever you say dear”. I started informally wedding planning in December 2009, just to be prepared and reduce stress; my family made fun of me and no one thought I was serious until I told my mother two weeks ago, and she actually believed me this time and said-in a very concerned voice- that I should be booking the venues soon. OF COURSE I freaked out and went into planning over drive and called the venues that I had already selected and had to call the bf and tell him that my mother knew and that it was really real! Def spooked us both a little, I mean I want to go the old fashion route and have him ask my father’s permission first…but any way the freakout is over, and I havent booked any venues and since the wedding isnt until July, BF still has a couple months to buy the ring:) Meanwhile I am starting on my DIY projects as soon as the rest of my supplies come in!

Glad to be here!

Well, I’ve been posting on here for a couple of weeks now. I’ve been with my boyfriend for about a year now, and have known him for two years. We haven’t had an engagement talk yet, or marriage talk as far as us goes, but we have talked about marriage in general and when we have kids. . . how we would raise our children, and such. In a way, I guess I have all ready thrown it out there that I see us having a long term future together, which to everyone I have spoken to basically says, ‘marriage’ comes to mind when hearing that. I remember he glowed when we had that little discussion. But um, yeah. I’m waiting, and if he doesn’t bring it up by November I will be approaching engagement. So, I don’t know maybe I’m just wishing. But everyone I know says he is the one just from the way we are when we’re together. We’re so happy, and we glow people say. All I know is I love him, and I can see us having a wonderful future togther and Mr. & Mrs. Will update in a few months hopefully =)

As for interests, I am a total WoW nerd. I love to raid, and am on three nights a week raiding heroic content. Woot. Um, I am also a travel fanatic and hope to travel to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure to experience the new Harry Potter section. =d

I’ve been lurking for a while – and decided to register and join the other Waiting Bees tonight πŸ™‚

I live in Hawaii – Aloha!!! I’m 34 and a mom of two teens who are the most amazing blessings in my life. I’m working full time and going to school full time toward a degree in education (2 years left!).

My boyfriend and I met online and e-mailed back and forth for about a month before we met. I was hesitant to meet him because while I loved his personality, sense of humor, and intelligence, I didn’t know if there would be any chemistry or if we’d be better suited as friends. We finally met in July 2010 and WOW! Any doubts I had were erased. He’s amazing. This is the part where I could go on and on but the post would get too long.

We’ve been together since then and he told me he wanted to marry me very early. I almost think he might have proposed back then but…he was laid off from his job. πŸ™ I know he wouldn’t feel right proposing without a job. I’m patient, I know it’ll come as soon as the time is right but it’s hard not to get excited about future wedding plans and beginning our life together.

I’m here so I can share the experience with other waiting bees and not obsess alone πŸ™‚

Hello Everyone!

I have been lurking for a few months, joined around a month ago… and have to admit I have some wedding fever! SO and I have been together for just about 4 years, and moved in together a year and a half ago… I am an Interior Designer and he was working in the trades, but is now in school and just one year away from being an Engineer; which is the biggest reason there isn’t a ring on my finger yet.

I am not totally materialistic, but I am a girl who loves a good diamond- and he knows that! We could easily afford a small ring, quiet wedding and he could return to school, but he knows that isn’t my dream and wants to wait until he can give me what I have always wanted.(Note: I am not asking for a 30K wedding and a Tacori ring- but I want to love the ring forever and be able to have a prettty and eclectic wedding without having to worry too much about budgets!)And, next spring we are going to Disneyworld with his parents, sister, and niece and nephew and the trip is going to cost us around $5000 for two weeks (his parents are using their timeshare to cover the accomodations-score!) and with him being in school we can’t justify doing both a wedding and a trip.

A little more about me- I love art, architecture and design. I am constantly doing DIY projects and love graphic design. We got a puppy for Christmas (his surprise to me!) he is a daschund, golden coloured and just an amazing little friend- socks and shoes RIP, however. We live in Edmonton, Alberta and I truly hate winter and yet we still live here… I love to camp and be outdoors in the summer, every weekend possible you will find me at SO’s family lake lot on the boat or beach.

We have discussed wedding plans, and details, and the consensus is by next summer, after our fabulous Orlando trip, we should be engaged.

Should be.

In the meantime, I will continue to lurk and stalk ring porn and dress posts.

Hello Hive!

I’ve been stalking the Bee for a month or two now, and joined on a whim over the weekend. I’m very excited to be here!

My boyfriend (the Owl) and I have been together for almost four years (our anniversary is in exactly 3 weeks!). I’m a 24-year-old graduate student and librarian, and the Owl is a 24-year-old organizer/fundraiser for the Girl Scouts of America. I live with my parents so I can save money while I’m in grad school, and he lives 5 minutes away in a duplex — 1/2 of a lovely Victorian mansion. I seriously can’t wait to move in and get my hands on that place.

How did I meet the Owl? The short version? we met in college.

The long version? We were taking the same history class together. To celebrate the end of midterms, our professor took the whole class to IHOP. The Owl and I ended up at a booth together, where he won me over with his chivalrous offer to buy me some pancakes, and I dazzled him, I’m sure, with my extensive knowledge of Homestar Runner quotes. We get along so well primarily because we’re both HUGE geeks and we love/hate many of the same things.

We’ve been in constant communication about our reasons for getting married, our readiness, and our timeline. We want a summer 2012 wedding, so our plan is to be engaged by the end of this summer. I have a sneaking suspicion that he might propose during our upcoming cruise to the Bahamas in May, but until then, I’m a Waiting Bee.

Hi ladies!

I’ve been stalking the bee for a month and decided to register. Knowing that others are in the same boat is tremendously reassuring to me. I know that (eventually) a proposal will come….and I’m just along for the ride until then.

I’m 27, a single Mom and a college student. Shutterbug (My SO)  and I are both rabid fans of the Nevada Wolf Pack and met in a college class in the Fall of 2009….our relationship has had its twists and turns….. with us agreeing that September or October 2014 is a probable date…but in the meantime….its just relax and enjoy.

Hi! Lurker here for c 1 month; decided to join in a fit of “waiting frustration” last night ;P

Am 35, from the UK, been with my SO just over 3 years. We have a timeline (set by him) of the end of the year, but this has been brought down by a discussion about wedding venue practicalities/babies etc we had last night, to in the next two months. I’m currently a strange mixture of levelheaded, excited and frustrated in turns. You know how it goes πŸ˜‰

Nice to be(e) here!

Hello hive!

I am a 23 year old pastry chef  and my bf is a 25 year old Buckeye with a degree in biology.  We have been dating for almost 3 years and met through my sister and Future Brother-In-Law who is a friend of his from high school.  One day my sister and I were out with our family having dinner and she asked if I wanted to join her and her (now) fiance with some of his friends at a local bar.  I was hesitant, shy, and kind of a homebody so at first I said no.  Later she asked again and something inside of me pushed me to say yes.  So we went to the bar and since I was underage I almost didn’t get in.  However, the bouncer let me in since technically I had 2 minutes until they were supposed to start carding (lol).  Well long story short I ended up talking to him all night, with the help of a little liquid encouragement. Wink

A few months later we saw each other again, started chatting online, and now we are inseperable!  I love him dearly and I have known he was “the one” since the very beginning.  We have so much in common.  We both LOVE camping, the drive-in (our first date and we found out our usual parking spots were only a few away from each other.  Weird.), we love 80s music, and most of all childhood cartoons especially Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Haha there is obviously more than that but those are the things we initially bonded over.

Fast forwarding to now, we are looking into buying a house and an engagement ring.  However, mountains of student loans and other bills have hindered our plans.  I know he wants to, he is not afraid to tell me he loves me and he wants to marry me.  We just need the money.  Blarggg…sometimes I hate money.  The worst part is almost all of his friends are getting married/having kids/buying houses etc. so he feels left in the dust because we are not engaged, we live at home and he also hates his job :(. We will figure things out eventually πŸ™‚

Whew!  Sorry that was so long! Thanks for anyone who made it through the whole thing!
