maryboston:  I love oval cuts!! I had never really seen them before the bee but they are so pretty and I wish I could have one 🙂

maryboston:  Personally I think it’s beautiful and would love it and I typically don’t even go for an oval! Go with what you would love, don’t be swayed by what others have to say because it’s you who’ll wear it and need to love it.

maryboston:  I love ovals 🙂 If I could have two e-rings my second would be an oval! They’re gorgeous, unique and very timeless! Go with what you love the best, but the oval look really great on your hand!

maryboston:  It depends on what you mean by ‘better’? 🙂 I think you should go with what you like better. I knew I wanted something different (and by that I mean something other than the classic round solitaire) and so I tried on a bunch of different rings, until I discovered an oval halo ring that I ended up basing my custom designed ring around. I don’t think a round is better than an oval. And I don’t think an oval is better than a round. It all comes down to personal taste and style, and your best shot is to try different styles on and see what you like better. But aside from that, I think the ring you’ve tried on looks lovely 🙂

Have you tried on both shapes? If not, I suggest you try both and see which one you like better. Rounds are more classic but ovals tend to elongate the finger, which can definitely be a positive thing.

i love the oval. But go with what your heart wants. When we tried on rings and I picked “the ring” my jeweler told me if I lay my head on the pillow that night and think about that ring, it’s the one!

I have an oval e-ring, but round brilliants on my wedding band. I LOVE my oval, but my rounds definitely throw more light — I think it has to do with the size of the facets. Anyway – just something to think about if you’re considering a lower color or clarity grade with oval. So yeah – I love my oval. Just something to be aware of.

maryboston:  I love it!! I have a round brilliant but if I were to ever get another ring it would definitely be an oval. They are classic yet unique. I’d go for it!

I love both shapes and have a RB myself, but that oval looks fantastic on you!

I love my oval, OP, it is classic. A RB is also classic, though, and they are real beauties,  so it’s all about what you like best on your hand! I don’t think you can go wrong in this scenario:-)

I love ovals, but found I don’t like how they look on my hand. If you haven’t tried on a round you should before making a final decision. ..just my thoughts

I have an oval. I love it. I would not have been happy at all with a round. I like how flattering the oval shape is on my hand, and how it’s a little bit different from all the rounds out there.

I have an oval and a RB. I love them both.  The oval is excellent cut and sparkles just as much as the round.  Ovals face up larger too. Be mindful of the setting if you want your wedding band to sit flush.   I have a gap when i wear the oval,  but I like the look so don’t mind.  You can’t go wrong either way! I find ovals to be very flattering, the shape  elongates the finger.

Congratulations!
