1. How long have you and your SO been dating? We’ve been dating for 5 years and a few months

2. How old are both of you? I’m 24, he’ss 27

3. How long have you been waiting? Officially… a few days. We had talked about it and I knew he would do it eventually, but I thought it’d be in 2 years once I’m done my MD but he informed me a few days ago that he wanted it to happen this year.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? Sometime this year, I guess… but I’m secretly hoping it’ll be later than that

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Absolutely. He’s taken me a few places to get an idea of what I wanted, but I haddn’t really settled on anything. I thought we were just going for kicks and giggles then.

6. What ring do you want? Once I found out it could be coing soon, I spent the last few days looking at different e-rings and I think I like the idea of a solitiare with the pave band. I also like the halo, but not sure if I want both yet

1. How long have you and your SO been dating? Almost 3 years, and have known each other for 6/7 years. We were best friends for over 3 years before we started dating.

2. How old are both of you? We’re both turning 21 this year.

3. How long have you been waiting? Don’t really know. I guess since we have known we’re going to get married. But I haven’t been seriously waiting, there’s no rush.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? We’ve had a timeline for quite awhile. We both want to be financally stable on our own first, for sure. (Grade wise he’s a little under a year ahead of me)He wants to have graduated college and have a ‘real’ job for a year. Mine changes between 2 situations. I want to be graduated for sure, but wouldn’t mind having a couple smaller jobs and then look for a ‘real’ job after we’re married. But then I would also be willing to get a ‘real’ job first, and push off the wedding for a year or so. It doesn’t really matter to me, a couple years of waiting won’t make a difference. If I find a good job, then I’m not going to turn it down to get married sooner. I have extreme anxiety (that’s caused me to quit good jobs before)and wouldn’t be able to handle starting a legit job AND trying to start our lives together at the same time.

My guess is a proposal in the next couple years, but I’m not super sure. I want a year engagement but I don’t know if he wants to propose after his year in a ‘real’ job, or if he wants to propose before the job and have that year be the engagement period. So give or take another year. I try not to think much about it. It’ll happen when it happens.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Not really. My family has a jeweler who has handmade every piece of jewelry I have ever worn, and he knows that I want one from said jeweler. It was one of my late father’s biggest wishes that his friend (the jeweler) be the one to make it. We were also looking at friends’ rings online and he asked me to describe that type of ring I would want.

6. What ring do you want? I’m not picky at all. I don’t want one that has the gem too big so that it looks goofy on my hand, but I want one that I can show off. (Is that bad? haha) I haven’t thought much about what setting or style I want though.

We’ve known eachother for 20 years. I was 16 he was 18. Then our lives went very different ways. He went full military and I spent time going to college and getting degrees – trying out my own body butter business that failed LOL but was fun!! –

I was married for 3 years and reconnected with him after my divorce. He’s been my best friend and I’ve not wanted to push anything forward because I’m kind of nervous about marrying the wrong person again!!

We have been together officially as a couple for about 2 years now. I’m 36 and he is 38. He has never been married. We both do not have children. We have talked about our future together and we have many wonderful plans for his retirement from the military which include getting a house together and him utilizing his GI bill. I’m not sure when our timeline is – we are just happy together- living in an apartment for now with our darling pups!! We plan hiking adventures and just love to do stuff together – from working out to movies or dinner dates – Even just sitting around doing nothing lol!! I trust this relationship more because I have a great friendship with him and we like to do the same things.

My first husband was a good man but he left me so lonely. – I was very sad it did not work out – he was also a military man except he had been very broken inside from many years of warfare. It was basically like I was living alone. . . We had a very amicable divorce with no nasty fighting or issues. We just weren’t meant to be. – anyway –

My new guy is fantastic and we dance around the topic of weddings and honeymoon. We talked about a 15 day cruise on Carnival to Hawaii – as well as he knows I am interested in a blush pink wedding gown! He said PINK!?! I said yes! Why do you prefer white/ivory? He said no – whatever makes you happy! He knows I just want a small wedding with no big frills. The only things that matter to me are the dress- flowers -cake- photography. I’m not concerned with venues or dj’s or seating arrangements. I literally just want immediate family -and perhaps a few best friends to witness and then we all go for a nice champagne toast with cake — somewhere outside and pretty.

He also knows I want a one carat or more round diamond halo. I’ve shown him a photo of what I’m looking for- the Tiffany Embrace, but I’m not 100% on it. There is a jeweler in my hometown that I adore- Reflections in Gold -Venice, Florida. They do exceptional work and have been suggested to me by my dads friend who gets his wife all her jewelry there and its all stunning. . . .the thing is — I’m not living in Florida currently so booooooo. I don’t think we can set that up easily!

I’m actually in no rush to GET married – I have already been through that excitement- I would be content with a long engagement. – See how things unfold as time passes. – I also know all this wedding stuff is on my mind big time because I’m a bridesmaid for my cousin this June and it’s also fun to consider my own future with this man. I’m glad he is easy going when we talk about it. He has told me countless times he views me as his lifetime partner -and I can see this wedding happening in the nearish future. He has one more military transfer and then retires. We are in a big dust up waiting to hear the final word on WHERE he will be stationed – vs the after plans of his GI bill where we talked about going back to his home state of Texas because he also has a masters degree paid for in that State because he entered the military as a native Texan. It just seems fitting we just move to Texas and get set up for a nice fun college career! I know I’ll find work somewhere there in Austin or San Antonio.

Because I know this -I’m thinking I might be a Texas Bride!! So hot summer might be OUT. . . who knows. . . there is a lot to consider and I don’t even have the ring yet LOL. But I know this is all put in motion. It is just a matter of time unfolding as it does.

He knows I’m very particular about jewelry – he knows I like what I like and when I showed him this picture of a ring I was interested in -he studied it carefully. So I know it should be lovely.

Hi everyone! I have been posting for a while but have just realized that I probably qualify as a waitingbee!

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

A little more than three and a half years.
2. How old are both of you?

26

3. How long have you been waiting?

Well, I’m waiting and not at the same time. I’ve been ready to say “yes” since around November, but we have a mutually-chosen schedule for talking engagement, so I’m just waiting for that to roll around.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

After this spring semester – only three more months at this point. I’m excited and nervous at the same time!

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Yes! He is learning so much, lol.

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

An Art Deco two-tone ruby would be pretty fantastic. Like these maybe:

Or a pear or marquise moissanite solitaire.

Hi All! I’ve been a lurker for a long time and have rarely posted. BUT I just went from a “I’m kinda waiting but my SO isn’t ready” to REALLY waiting.

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

3 years

2. How old are both of you?

25 and 27

3. How long have you been waiting?

Honestly, a year and a half. We moved across the country together, after having dated for a little over a year, and that’s when the waiting started. But he wasn’t even close to being ready yet.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

Kinda? Sometime this year? But we just bought the ring, so I’m hoping sooner rather than later. I feel like I’ll go insane if he waits like six months.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Yes we bought it! It’s a double halo setting from James Allen, with a .7 ct center (tcw is like 1.3). IT SHOULD ARRIVE SOMETIME THIS WEEK!!*

* I need someone to talk me down. Going crazy over here.

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

See above!

How long have you and your SO been dating? Almost 1 year. However, we have known each other since we were in 4th grade…. We just moved in together.

How old are both of you? 29 (almost 30).

How long have you been waiting? Since January 2015. I just found out when I overheard him telling a few of his best buds that he plans to pop the Q this summer.

Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? We haven’t discussed an actual timeline… but, we have had discussions and feel like our relationship is headed towards marriage, and I told him before I moved in that I wasn’t going to move in if I didn’t feel like our relationship was heading towards engagement/marriage, so I know it’s coming. I would like to be engaged this year, and married by 2017 – but I have not told him this directly (yet).

Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? He asked me one night “How much do engagement rings cost?” — but he’s never asked me what I like as far as style, shape, etc. He always says he’s great at picking out jewlery, so I’d let him and wouldn’t take that from him. Sometimes I wish we’d go look at rings… but he’s not that kind of guy. He’d want it to be a complete surprise.

What ring do you want? I like 3-stone princess cut rings, white gold. πŸ™‚

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Yeat he told me to start sending him pics of rings I like in February.

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

We’ve been dating for 6.5 years and living together for 3.5 years

2. How old are both of you?

I’m 25, almost 26, and he’s 26, almost 27.

3. How long have you been waiting?

Officially since February. We had a serious discussion last November and got a few more details sorted in February.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

No set in stone timeline, but we agreed that April or May would work well for us.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Yes, he knows exactly what I want along with my ring size

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

Large princess cut centre stone, with pricess cut accents around the shoulders, set in white gold. It won’t be a diamond. He’s aware of moissanite and white sapphire so it’ll be my dream ring on a busget!!

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

We have been officially dating for 6 months but unofficially for 2 years! I took my time to make it an official commitment (even though we were already committed to each other in our hearts) and my sweet darling man waited on me patiently πŸ™‚

2. How old are both of you?

I’m 26 and he’s 37 – we are 10 years, 10 months & 1 day apart. It’s a large gap, (I’ve never been with anyone that much older than me) but we work very well together!

3. How long have you been waiting?

We talked about engagement/marriage last December. He said that he was planning on proposing next year (2015). So here we are… 3 months later! I’m waiting eagerly and trying not to be impatient, but it’s so hard for me when I know a surprise is coming and don’t know when!

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

I think the Boyfriend or Best Friend has a timeline as far as when he’s planning to propose. We’ve also talked about doing a courthouse marriage and then planning the wedding for 2016. I’ve told him that I would LOVE an October wedding.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

I found THE ONE. And I’ve been obsessing over it for a month, until 2 nights ago, I finally told him this was IT. This was my first, second, third, fourth choice lol

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

It’s an Old Mine Brilliant Cushion Cut diamond with a platinum basket and rose gold ring. I love how the solitaire is elegant and simple, but the design is unique and I love mixed metals!
