1. How long have you and your SO been dating? We’ve been together for 4 years

2. How old are both of you? I’m 27, SO is 29

3. How long have you been waiting? I’m #249 on the list but I’ve been sort of waiting since year 3.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? We want to get married on our anniversary date so 2015 or 2016 and he’s down for either

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Yes, he finally relaxed after I told him I wanted a Moissanite so it wasn’t going to cost an arm and a leg. I guess walking around saying I want a giant rock is off putting πŸ˜‰ Yay Moissanite

6. What ring do you want? 1.5 carat equivalent Moissanite. I’m out of the country currently and the wifi isn’t allowing me to upload a pic. Having a custom ring made, platinum, 8 prongs with claw tips and 4 graduated diamonds on both sides of the shank.

Ok, so this is to make up for the weird post earlier. Hope it works this time!

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

We have been dating for almost 7 months. I know it sounds like we’re jumping the gun a bit, but I really feel like we’re meant to be. Our parents have known each other from college, but we didn’t know this until this year when we started dating (we didn’t know each other for a very long time before that). After we started dating, we quickly realized we’re soulmates and our parents reconnected after 25 years since graduation.

2. How old are both of you?

I’m 22 (turning 23 in February) and he’s 24.

3. How long have you been waiting?

I like to think I’m not waiting for commitment, because I already have it. He talked to his parents about getting engaged and they can’t wait for him to propose! He first mentioned marriage in July, but it was just a plan. However, come this September he started talking more and more aboiut rings and today he wants me to show him the kind of ring I want. Tomorrow he said we’ll go at the mall to find out my ring size (I’ve got really thin fingers).

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

As far as the wedding goes, I’ve no idea. The proposal will probably be in a few months.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Today is the day! I’m going over to his place and he told me last night that’s what he wants to do today!!

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

My thin fingers make it very hard to pick a ring. I probably will get a solitaire (and I’ve found so many amazing ones), but this one is pretty cool too:

Misaki27: I knew after 3 months that my Boyfriend or Best Friend was the one. I wasn’t thinking about marriage, per say, but I just couldn’t see my life or my future without. He brought up marriage first saying the same thing, not being able to picture a life without me.

When you know, you know πŸ™‚

1. How long have you and your SO been dating? 16 months

2. How old are both of you? I am 40, he is 53

3. How long have you been waiting? Since our one year anniversary which was in May of this year – so 4 months.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? It has already passed.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Yes, he sent me a photo of a ring last week to see if I liked it and I am pretty sure I saw him reading an email a few days later saying the ring was on the way.

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want* This is what I originally wanted. The ring that he picked I love even more – it is similar but a princess cut.

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

Almost 7 years πŸ™‚

2. How old are both of you?

I am 28 and he’s 31

3. How long have you been waiting?

Almost 7 years, I guess? Lol, I had three situations in which I thought “Whoooo that’s it!” First situation was 6 years ago πŸ™‚

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

Well, I would love getting married in the next 2-3 years and start TTC right after the wedding. Buuut my bf is Sheldon Coopers (BBT) twin, seriously if not worse. So can you imagine Sheldon getting married?

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

It’s not common to choose the eRing together in my country. I only get a say in choosing the wedding band πŸ™‚

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

I love the classic Tiffany setting but with all that ring porn here I have my heart set on a halo. But it’s not even common to get a ring in my country let alone one that costs more than a couple hundred euros. So I am expecting something small but beautiful. I am very excited to see what he will pick for me! I will love my ring because I know he will put much thought in it πŸ™‚

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

We have been dating for 6 years

2. How old are both of you?

We are both 22 years old.

3. How long have you been waiting?

Not really sure, maybe 5 months.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

We are coming up on our 7 year anniversary. I definetly do not want to be his gf of 8 years, so sometime before then. I understand that we are young and that factors in to it but still 8 years is too long.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Yup, he wanted me to pick it out because he wanted me to love it.

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

Narrowed it down to two…

1. How long have you and your SO been dating? 8 years as of May. Heading up on 9 wow.

2. How old are both of you? I’m 28 and he’s 36

3. How long have you been waiting? Officially only about a year and a half. We aren’t in a financial place right now but agreed we would go super small or elope when we feel financially secure. Probably next year. So we have everything but an “official” proposal.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? Right before or when I hit 30

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? We’ve discussed them and I drew some pictures of what I like at his request. I let him know I prefer vintage to new. He has really good taste so I trust him more than he trusts himself.

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want* – I don’t know what ring I want but I am having a love affair with rose gold right now. One stone with some nice filigree on the band would be my style πŸ™‚

1. How long have you and your SO been dating? We’ve been together for 9 months, but we’ve both been previously married (I have a 9 year old daughter from that marriage). I’ve been divorced for 8 years, and he for 4, so we’ve been through it and just know this is IT!
2. How old are both of you? I’ll be 33 in one month and he just turned 42.
3. How long have you been waiting? Seriously, only about a month.
4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? Not really, but I’ve made it clear that I despise our current geographic situation (we live 45 mins away from each other) and that there is no moving in together until we’re officially engaged.
5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Yep, we’ve gone to a couple of jewelry stores and I just recently decided that I want a moissanite so that’s picked out and he has the web link/pic.
6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want* It’s a moissanite solitaire with a really pretty crown setting.
• Wedding: March 2017

1. How long have you and your SO been dating? 3 years

2. How old are both of you? I am freshly 31 and he is going on 30 this month

3. How long have you been waiting? A year and a half to two years. SO losing his job and then going to school instead threw a monkey wrench in the plans but things are back on track now and I am hoping it will be before year’s end.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? Yes March 2016, it was changed from March 2015. I really want a winter wedding but because a lot of his family is coming from Grenada he says no.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? We have discussed in detail and I have sent him numerous pictures of the one ring I am in LOVE with. He knows that even if it is not the same one the stye is really what I want but hopefully it will be the exact one.

 • Wedding: September 2016 - Hunting Hill Mansion

1. How long have you and your SO been dating? Two years! Our 2 year anniversary was September 18th!

2. How old are both of you? I am 22 and James is 23 going on 24 next month.

3. How long have you been waiting? 12 days! And what a 12 days it has been. We decided on our anniversary that we are ready to take the next step. Our engagement is tentatively planned for sometime in January after we visit our families over Christmas. It’s going to be a loooooooong 3 months, but I respect James’s wishes to want to speak to our families in person before he makes his move.

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? I guess I already touched on that a bit in the question above. I after our engagement, I would like to finish law school completely before we get married (3 years). I know that is a very long engagement to most, but it seems easier that way. But who knows what will happen! I would like a fall wedding so October is my wedding month of choice.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Yes! It’s not his most favorite activity in the world (I am driving him nuts). I just want the ring to be perfect πŸ˜‰ I’ve been doing most of my research online so far but we did recently go to a brick and mortar store just to see and touch the rings in person to get a better idea of what we were interested in. Per the Shut It Up Pact, I have been sending him updates on the ring I want via email which I think is a good compromise.

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

The specs that I am set on at this point are:

1.) 9x7mm oval FB Moissanite OR 8mm round brilliant FB Moissanite — I love ovals but James prefers the round cut so I just don’t know. I am afraid the oval will show too much color. Thought, anyone?

2.) 14K white gold solitare

3.) 1.5mm band

We will most likely purchase a loose stone from Joseph Schubach Jewelers πŸ™‚

emilypaige: Too much color is v subjective. Whats too much for you may be just right for another bee and vice versa. Fancy cuts in moissy show more color for sure & if youre color sensitive round cut will show less color. But if your hearts set on an oval are you gonna be happy w a round? Unless youre open to upgrading down the line, are you?

anxiousbee323: Thanks for your reply! I can’t honestly see myself upgrading until much farther (further?) down the road — say, 15-20 years like my mother did — if I upgrade at all. It’s not something that I’m thinking about.

That’s the thing. Would I be dissapointed in a round stone!? Ahh, I don’t know! I don’t think I would be, especially if I knew that the stone was a (in my opinion) a higher quality color. I like the oval shape in theory because I have long, thin fingers, but I have yet to try it on.

I will have to find a store somewhere that carries oval solitaires so I can see an “IRL” version before I give my SO my final decision.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? We have discussed what I DONT like. I sometimes send him pictures of what I DO like. I also tell him my expectations (under the understanding that HE is giving the ring and he may or maynot take that into consideration since he wants to give me something he loves). I told him I DEF. DONT want a Tiffany ring, and is totally cool with a Costco one LOL (He was like oooookay).

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want* Im not quite sure what I want either tbh. I orignally wanted a yellow gold, gem one but I kinda love this one that some other Bee posted. (she also has gorgeous fingers) https://www-static.weddingbee.com/pics/230344/Katies_Engagement_Ring.jpg
