Oh! Oh! I want to play!

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

1 year and 10 months (as of October 18th)

2. How old are both of you?

I am 25, and SO just turned 26.

3. How long have you been waiting?

We both went into the relationship knowing we wanted to get married after being friends and in love for almost two years, so I’ve been patiently waiting since day one. However, I’ve been a little less patient in the past couple of months as SO has brought up engagement and marriage more on his own!

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

No timeline. SO is adamant about keeping the proposal a complete secret and not dropping any hints so that it’s a big surprise when it happens. He says that he’s “working on it” and has a plan, so that’s enough for me.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Indeed! We went into Kay’s on a whim while out celebrating our 6-month anniversay just to see what carat sizes looked good on my finger, he was there when I got my ring size, and I’ve shown him pictures of rings I like online.

6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

I would love anything at least 0.5 carats, but I would like to keep it under 1 carat because I prefer dainty jewelry. Round diamond, white gold or platinum, milgrain or some kind of vintage detailing on the band, and bonus points if it has some kind of gemstone (sapphire or emerald) side stones. SO is partial to emeralds, and I’m torn between the two. I’m sure I’ll love whatever he ends up choosing; I just want something a little bit different from the common halos and solitaires.

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

     Ten years, one month.

 2. How old are both of you?

     I’m 24.  He’s 25.

 3. How long have you been waiting?

Four years, technically?  He told me when we were in college that he wanted to be married by the time he was 22 (he’s 20 months older than I am), so I would have been 20.  But I didn’t start to feel antsy until a year or two ago.

 4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

It’s not an ultimatum or anything, but he says he wants us to be married before his fourth year of medical school.  He’s a first year now.  This is his last summer without a board review exam, so it’s kind of the perfect time…

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

He’s apparently been working on a custom design for a while.  We went shopping in July, and he asked me to send him a few pictures of things I like.

 6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

I like simple designs and anything art deco, so what I really wanted was an emerald cut with a baguette on either side.  He wants a little more flash than that, so I will most likely have an emerald cut with two vertical baguettes on either side and a filigreed basket.  But there will be no complaints from me!

4.5 years

 4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

Married by October 2015 has my ideal date.

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Yes we dicuss them and have looked together at multiple stores.

 6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

I would really love a blue Nile cushion cut at least 6×6 with a 1.8mm halo and band.  Here is a picture from another male bee.  His thread is here:http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/blue-nile-cushion-cut-halo/#axzz3CaE3ohMo

 1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

3 years and counting

 2. How old are both of you?

I’m 27, he’s 29.

 3. How long have you been waiting?

I’ve been thinking about engagement for 2 years, but I know he isn’t remotely close to ready so I’m not sure I’m really “waiting” yet. Frustrated? Yes. Waiting? Probably not.

 4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

Yes! I’d like to be married in 2017, before I’m 30 and before I start residency.<br />

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Ugh, no. He can’t even focus enough to make a timeline right now.

 6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

I love elongated shapes, especially emerald and radiant cut. But I need to try rings on before I can consolidate what I like with what can be afforded. Maybe one day…

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Yes. We’ve gone to two stores and looked online together

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?   We fell in love 6.5 years ago but didn’t make things official until about 2 years ago

 2. How old are both of you?  I’m 24 and she will be 25 in a few days.

 3. How long have you been waiting? I’ve been waiting since we made our relationship official, but have been seriously waiting since we purchased the center stone for my ring about a month ago.

 4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?  Engaged by the end of this year, married October 2016 πŸ™‚

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? Yes and yes.  We originally were designing a custom ring with a well known Etsy seller, but she was charging a lot for just some simple design tweaks and didn’t really seem thrilled to help us. After searching the Internet for my dream ring, I finally found it! The closest retailer is almost two hours away from us, so we made the drive out to see it in person and will be ordering it in another few weeks! The center stone is a gorgeous cushion cut diamond that we got an amazing deal on through Ebay of all places. We won’t know the exact worth until the jeweler appraises it when it is set, but we know that it is for sure at least double what we paid.

 6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*   My absolute dream ring is the Verragio Parisian 100.  It has every detail I described to the Etsy seller and more! Plus I am in love with everything French, so the Parisian collection is a perfect fit πŸ™‚

1. How long have you and your SO been dating? He was my freshman year crush in high school, but we didn’t make it official until my senior year. We’ve been dating ever since. It will be 6 years this December.

 2. How old are both of you? I’m 23, he’s 26

 3. How long have you been waiting? I am unofficially waiting. I know it’s not very wise for us to get engaged/married any time soon, so we’re waiting until he gets closer to graduation. But I’ve been in this stage for about 2 years now.

 4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)? We’re thinking about getting married in 2017, engaged sometime early to mid 2016. πŸ˜€

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO? We’ve actually gone to try on some rings in store. I had an initial timeline of getting married in 2016, but we pushed it back for financial reasons.

 6. What ring do you want? I keep changing it up on him. First I was dead set on princess cut, then radiant, then cushion, and radiant again. I’m not entirely sure. But I do know I want a moissy, you just can’t beat the price for such a pretty stone. I love the “Scroll Solitaire” and “Ballerina Solitaire” from Schubachs πŸ˜€ So pretty!

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

It was six years on June 19th.

2. How old are both of you?

I’m 24 and he is 25

3. How long have you been waiting?

We’ve talked marriage from our first year together but knew it didn’t make much sense at the time given we were both still in school. I’ve been really waiting for the last 6-8 months or so now that we have lived together for almost a year and a half and he’s wrapping up wtih school. However, I think the nasty divorce my parents are going through has reminded him of his parent’s divorcing and now it has him thinking marriage isn’t a priority…

4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

I would love to be engaged within the next year, year and a half. That will allow him to finish up this never ending engineering degree (school has always come first) and find work in his field. His older sister became engaged in August and I certainly don’t want to steal any thunder from her…she can be one of those kinds of ladies sometimes.

5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

In passing. The last few weeks I have nervously sent him some since we’ve revisited marriage and he let me know it wasn’t a priority of his since we already have a great relationship (that’s a whole different discussion). The first couple he didn’t dig, but the one I have my eye set on now he said was nice (at least it wasn’t “huge” and “gaudy” this time LOL.

6. What ring do you want?

I have absolutely fallen in love with the handmade rings from Rosado’s Box on Etsy. I’ve always enjoyed the idea of something with a colored center stone for a slightly different look, especially in more of the traditional styles. This was the one I showed him last night that he seemed ok with. White gold and a diamond halo around a morganite pear shaped center. I’m torn between the white gold and the rose gold. The white allows the center stone to stand out a little more, while the rose gold enhances the pink.

1. We have been together for a little over 2 years.

2. I’m 27 nearly 28 and he is 26 and will be 27 in Feb

3. I’ve been waiting for about a year

4. It has changed so many times that I’m not really sure what the timeline is anymore. I would say 1 year to 18 months.

5. I think he has an idea but he is very firm on picking it out himself without my help. I think he wants to totally surprise me. His grandmother gave him a 1.09 VS1 E in color princess cut loose diamond that was in her wedding set. I know he has it and I know that she gave it to him with the instruction to make it beautiful and give it to me.

6. In my dreams it will be a white gold, princess cut halo with pave diamonds. I’ve picked exactly what I want but I know how important it is for him to pick out something on his own. I think that he will do well but I’ve got all of my pintrest boards hidden so I’m not sure that he will know that much.

1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

It will be 8 years in February ’15. High School sweethearts. Been living together (bought a place together) for 1 year 3 months.

 2. How old are both of you?

He is 25 and I am 24

 3. How long have you been waiting?

We’ve been talking about it for a while, but he only just started indicated it would be coming soon a short time ago.

 4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

Within a year, though I didn’t set up that timeline, he just let me know that it wouldn’t be long.

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

I have sent him dozens of pictures, and I believe he knows exactly what ring he will be buying, I just don’t know which one he chose.

 6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

I want a simple bezel set ring, in white gold. I work with kids so I don’t want anything that has pointed edges, or is too over the top or flashy. Honestly, the ring is not very important to me. It’s finally being able to be more than girlfriend after years and years of looking like a newly dating couple because we’re young, but in reality, when I turned 21 I had been in a relationship for 4 years.

 1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

5 years

 2. How old are both of you?

I am 24, he is 26.

 3. How long have you been waiting?

We have talked about marriage and our future lives together for about 3.5 years, and have discussed proposals and wedding plans way more than is normal for a non-engaged couple. Waiting for about 2 years, anxiously waiting since January.

 4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

He promised me we will be engaged by the end of the year, I just really want to start (actually) planning! Of course I have been secretly pintrest and wedding bee planning for quite some time. We are thinking of a September 2016 wedding, so by the time that comes around I will have been thinking about the wedding for 5 years!!

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

Oh yes.

 6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

Blue Nile Monique Lhuillier cathedral solitaire with a 0.5 carat center stone. I love the side view. I did lots of ring searching and research, so I am so excited to have this soon!

littlemunchkin5:  side note – a friend of mine has the rose gold version and it is stunning! The rose gold really brings out the pink but it’s not too pink.

This is fun!

 1. How long have you and your SO been dating?

It’s been 15 months of crazy, wonderful and surprising adventures.

 2. How old are both of you?

We are both 22. He’s finished his university degree and has been working in his field for two years, I’ll be done my degree in April.

 3. How long have you been waiting?

We joked around about marriage within the first 3 months, but he expressed his feelings that I was “the one he wanted to have by his side forever” the end of July 2014 (this year). So I’ve been really waiting since then. (3 months)

 4. Do you have a timeline (if so, what is it)?

Ideally we’d like to be married late July or August of 2015. It will depend on my career, when he proposes, and the acquiring of a condo for the two of us. Here’s hoping! I’d love a Christmas/New Year’s Engagement, but I know he knows what he’s doing. The proposal is one of the few things I do want to be surprised by.

 5. Have you discussed or looked at rings with your SO?

YES! He asked my Dad for his blessing over Canadian Thanksgiving, so the cat was a little of the bag then. (We don’t keep secrets very well from each other.) Initially I wanted him to choose a ring out himself, so he was doing that. We went for ring sizing this weekend. After seeing him stress out so much over it (it was adorable) I agreed to confirm the ring he wanted to buy me was the one he chose.

 6. What ring do you want? *Post a pic if you want*

SO ordered this one today! I am SOOOO excited!!!

It’s a titanium ring with a forever brillant moissanite in a tension setting.
