1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when? My ring is in the works now, I asked not to be told when it was finished so the proposal could be a surprise.

2. How long have you been waiting? Officially since the end of August when he asked for specifics on what I wanted and we spoke to the jeweler

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you? Not at all, knowing it’s coming has been a tremendous help. Also helps that I’m distracted with finals and going into my final semester.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas? Not quite sure, probably putting in money (with his family) to get him a table saw, plus white tees/underwear/socks as usual πŸ˜‰

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL). Not sure this year, wish I had an idea because he’s asking me almost daily.

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

Amora Gem Ultra H+A 1.65carat F colored VVS2. The setting is a platinum reproduction of an antique setting with 8 claw prongs and 4 ascending diamonds on each side.. Unfortunately this computer won’t let me download my pics so maybe when I’m at my computer I’ll upload them πŸ˜€

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

I am expecting a proposal by July 2015. We want to get married February 2016 and my SO knows we’ll need at least 6 months to plan our wedding.

2. How long have you been waiting?

My SO brought up marriage just before our two year anniversary (we’ve been together for 4.5 years now) so I feel I’ve been waiting for us to take that step since then, however he only started seriously discussing it in the last three months.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

The last few years have been difficult! But yes, the ‘engagement season’ is the always worst.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas?

We’re not supposed to be getting each other Christmas gifts this year as we’re saving for a house, travel and the wedding, but I am planning to buy him a new bike for his triathlons. He’s been borrowing his friends for the last year as he doesn’t want to ‘waste’ our money on getting himself one, but he has been putting in so much effort with his training to beat all his previous times he deserves a brand new, fancy bike of his own! His friend is helping me pick a suitable one next week and I’m really excited. He’s definitely not expecting anything and he’ll love it!

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL).

As I said above, we’re not supposed to be getting each other Christmas gifts this year so I will be very happy and surprised with anything! Especially an engagement ring!

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

My SO had my ring custom made and it looks something like this…

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

Unfortunately, no. I’m hoping it will be before the end of 2015, just past our 4th anniversary.

2. How long have you been waiting?

2 very long years.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

I think I am at the point where every engagement I see upsets me, so it isn’t particularly different than any other time of the year. (I know that sounds very whiny, but I’d never in a million years say that to my partner!)

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas?

Typical dude electronics stuff.

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL).

This is the first year where I genuinely wish he wouldn’t get me anything. Save your money or put it where your mouth is. I know he’s already gotten me something, and I’ll do my best to be grateful, but a proposal is the only thing I want from him. Anything else I can get for myself.

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

I don’t have a dream ring, but I’d love something in rose gold with a rectangular radiant or emerald cut stone, maybe with trapezoid side stones.

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

Yes by New Years (I know it won’t be a Christmas proposal)…my SO has been talking about a wedding this summer, hence putting our New York trip on hold until next summer. First I thought he was referring to my little cousin who got engaged Oct. 25th, but she’s not getting married until March 2016.

2. How long have you been waiting?

We’ve been together for almost 7 years, I’ve been officially waiting for 3.5 years.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

Yes it has, but only because family members have been getting engaged, planning a wedding, or getting married.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas?

Issey Miyake cologne, Dallas Cowboys memorabilia, and something LA Lakers.

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL).

Clothes! I started a new job a couple weeks ago and need professional type clothing for this job.

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when? yes and no. We have discussed it a lot but I’d like to have a few months of permanency at my new job before it happens. Maybe mid next year.

2. How long have you been waiting? about 4 months I guess, once we really started talking about things more definitely.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you? kind of. Especially when I saw that one of my acquaintences that’d been dating her so for 6 month got engaged last week. But I know the timing isn’t quite right for us so I’m not too worried.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas? a Star Wars cooking apron,a recipe book, and a guitar pick maker.

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL). I haven’t really thought about it.. maybe the new daisy perfume.

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them! I don’t know the stats but I know I want a chocolate or yellow diamond in yellow gold. I adore this style:

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

Next year at some stage! From his hints I think he’s thinking the first half πŸ™‚

2. How long have you been waiting?

I dont feel as if I am actively ‘waiting’ or impatient for it. I know it’s coming so I feel kind of at peace and content with it all surprisingly.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

Before SO and I discussed a solid timeline, it was a little rough seeing EVERYONE move along. But now I am just happy to see whose turn it is next. Some girls I know have been with their SO’s for a while so I hope it happens for them too.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas?

Either the new GoPro or a new TV. He has been working really hard lately and I want him to feel appreciated.

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL).

Ummmm…. I actually haven’t thought of it!!

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

This is my DREAM ring <3 But with an RB!

Figured my first post should probably be here! πŸ˜›

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

Yes- I am thinking by the end of the year (!!) but if not, within the next couple of months.

2. How long have you been waiting?

Officially? We moved in together 6 months ago, so I’d say around that point the conversations picked up and we discussed types, timelines, etc.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

I haven’t had a friend get engaged since September, so nope, hasn’t been hurting yet! It will kill me if it picks up, though!

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas?

I got him a new winter jacket (that he picked out), some new sneakers (that he also picked out), and a lot of smaller surprises (he loves surprises!)

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL).

It’s funny, because I picked out a RHR (sterling silver with a paw print!) and matching earrings so I know I’ll be getting that! I wouldn’t mind a few cute stuffed animals too πŸ˜›

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

I have passed this image on to my boyfriend (who I know has forwarded it to his jeweler!). It is from LaurenB here in NYC and we were looking at 1.5-1.7 carat center stones. I’ve asked for it to be as low profile as possible while still allowing for a wedding band (to match the band of the e-ring) to sit flush and not have a gap, like below:

I hope he engraves something sweet inside!

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

I really hope he proposes on/near our anniversary in February. A lot of his family thinks it will happen sooner though…I’d be okay with that!

2. How long have you been waiting?

about 6 months since we started looking at rings

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

Yes and no. The commercials are annoying me, but I know for sure it won’t happen this year so whenever I hear of an engagement I’m happy for the couple and excited for mine to come!

4. What are getting your partner for Christmas?

We set a pretty small limit this year, but I managed to find him an AWESOME present I think he’ll love…a practice putting green! I’m so excited to give it to him.

5. What do you want for Xmas? (other than a ring LOL).

A cute pair of black booties or a Loft giftcard!

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

Its a Henry Daussi cushion-cut halo with a colorless .5 carat center stone…can’t wait to have it on my finger (and I KNOW he has it πŸ™‚ )

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?  Yes! It could be any time now…I think there’s a good chance it could happen at Christmas and if not then, very shortly after.

2. How long have you been waiting? 6 months or do

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you? The season itself hasn’t been difficult, but the fact that it’s bound to happen *anytime* now is making me anxious. And of course, the second I start to think about something else and relax, some commercial comes on and I’m back to square one “when will it happen?!” mind wracking, haha.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas? Probably a set of gourmet Wusthof knives, he is something of a chef

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL). A refill of my favorite perfume, maybe a new mascara?

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

<br /><br />I found this image on Google, probably from Weddingbee- whoever is the owner of this ring is a lucky girl! Emerald cut solitaires are my obsession!

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

Yes? I was hopeful for Christmas but, realistically, unless someone outright gave him a ring for free — not likely — it’s not happening. I could see him maybe using some of his tax return and proposing in the spring. I’m not going to hold my breath because I was semi-promised a ring for my last birthday, but it’s an option.

2. How long have you been waiting?

Almost a year. We had the formal “I want to get engaged, like, soon” conversation in April, but I’ve been “waiting” since last Christmas.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

Yes. I feel like I’m surrounded by radio ads, posters at bus stops, and pages upon pages of jewelry catalogue inserts in the newspaper. My boyfriend’s future SIL got engaged last Christmas and, although I knew it was coming, seeing their (SO and his brother) conversation after the opening of presents (and proposal, of course) just made it feel like a stab in the back (my Brother-In-Law basically told him that my SO was dragging his feet and that he should have been the one proposing that holiday season. He also made a point to tell him that I was likely feeling like crap having not been the one to receive a ring, which was accurate.) Everyone knows I’m starting to lose hope and being more and more insecure, and I’ve had a lot of people offer me sympathetic comments, like I’m a poor creature to be pitied. But I KNOW it’s not happening. I worked myself up thinking maybe, just maybe he’d be doing it, because he knows Christmas is my favorite holiday and he knows that I just want to get engaged, but knowing our finances it isn’t happening. So all the social media and ads and pitying comments just feel like salt in the wounds; like gnats I just want to swat away.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas?

Honestly, I don’t know. I want to get him a 3DS, but I haven’t bought it yet (next paycheck!) and he hasn’t told me what he wants for Christmas. I keep asking him and reminding him that I need something to go on, but he never gives anything other than a joke answer. I don’t want to go buy it for him unless it’s at least somewhat on his radar, but if he keeps giving me the silent treatment in terms of a wishlist, I might just buy it out of lack of options.

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL).

The ring (or even a proposal, sans-ring) is all I want πŸ™ I keep trying to think things up, and I just can’t. I guess maybe an IOU/voucher for a nice meal out? We don’t eat out very often and never anywhere really nice; I’d eat my shoe if it meant getting a nice, juicy tenderloin.

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

I keep coming back to this one.

1 carat FB moissanite with diamond accents in rose gold. I can’t find a photo of it alone (sans-wedding band) without the milgrain, which I honestly don’t care about.

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

Depends on the day, some days he will say things that will make me think it’s happening soon. Other days he will say something that makes me think it’ll be longer. So at this point anywhere between a month and 2 years.

2. How long have you been waiting?

We bought a house together a year and a half ago. We agreed we wanted to get a house before getting married. Now that we’re settled in and with him always talking about wedding/engagement stuff I’d say I’ve officially been waiting a couple months. We’ve been together almost 5 years and talked about getting married from the early days but I haven’t really felt like it was going to happen until recently.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

Yes and no. It’s always a little hard seeing people get engaged, especially those that have been together for a shorter amount of time. Not that there is anything wrong with that it just makes the wait seem longer. At the same time, it’s not that difficult because I know it’ll happen, I just need to be patient.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas?

We both have everything we need so we decided to do some renovations around the house.

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL).

A a new kitchen floor.

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them!

1. Are you expecting a proposal soon, by when?

More or less, though definitely not by/for Christmas or New Year’s; we just started ring shopping over the weekend. However, I don’t think I’ll be “waiting” past spring.

2. How long have you been waiting?

We’ve been together 2.5 years and living together just a bit over 1. I’ve probably been ready for 9 months or so but only really “waiting” since the wedding talk got serious last month.

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you?

Not really, though part of me would love a sparkly, festive proposal (our city is SO pretty this time of year), I know it’s coming so I’m just ignoring all the annoying jewelry commercials.

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas?

So far, custom monogrammed leather gloves and pocket square (Mark & Graham ftw!) Also, a collapsible cooler (we live in a loft with limited storage, but now he’ll still be able to pack up the goods for tailgating), and I’m debating between some new shoes he wants or (the more pricey option of) tickets to see the Black Keys, his favorite band, a few days before Christmas, whinch is really a present for myself, too.

5. What do you want for X-mas? (Other than a ring LOL).

Other jewelry, anything Kate Spade…

6. Post a pic of the ring you want, and its stats if you know them

<br style=”box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; max-height: 1000000px;” />Just tried this beauty on this weekend (diamond isn’t set so the head looks a little wonky). 1.5 ct elongated cushion cut in a platinum knife edge setting. I’m in love.

Ugh, sorry for the gibberish, not sure how to delete the coding text.

2. How long have you been waiting? Been waiting for about 5 months.<br />

3. Has engagement season been difficult for you? Yes, especially seeing those commercials and billboards with huge engagement rings (although I don’t really care about the ring as much as the proposal!)<br />

4. What are you getting your partner for Christmas? I already got him some great new shoes for his bday. He needs more sweaters. Maybe a cable knit sweater. <br />
