Wow I was just thinking about this today… I would say in the past month, since I think (hope!) a proposal might be coming soon, I have a lot planned out. I’ve had an idea of what I liked far before this, as well as who I would want as bridesmaids, but I daydream about specifics now. In particular – a general theme, color schemes that I like, dress ideas, time of year (summer would be ideal since we are both teachers), venue, centerpieces… Kind of embarassing but maybe it will make things easier once I need to actually start planning?

nzurikabisa:  Almost everything except: The date, the official location (we’re planning on asking a family member to use their estate but if they say no we have already been venue touring for back ups), which invitations, the limo company and DJ….OH and the menu, we haven’t met with the caterer who don’t know they are our caterer….yet ๐Ÿ˜› I don’t HAVE my dress but I know the style I want and I have looked at some designers I really REALLY like.

I don’t want a stressful engagement, and so far because we aren’t engaged, no vendor is pressuring us. lol. So it’s been really really calm so far, once we are engaged it’s just….deposit, deposit, deposit, craft, craft craft, taste, taste, taste, DONE! ๐Ÿ™‚

No ring yet but we plan on a 2017 wedding thus I’m preplanning because around here it’s a 2 year wait for most venues! People are telling me I’m crazy BUT there’s a reason why we’ve NEVER had a fight. We talk about and through everything, we don’t put pressure on ourselves for anything and I want to keep it that way!

We’ve talked about the basic details. We’ll probably make it official at the courthouse on a Friday and then have a reception (maybe a mini ceremony) in our backyard the following Saturday. We live on a farm so keeping it simple and rustic!

My Pinterest board is FILLED with amazing ideas but.. Still waiting.. lol

I have a basic idea of what we want, and we’ve talked about some of the bigger things (indoor church wedding, colors, bridal party, how many guests, stuff like that). If i had it my way we’d have a different wedding, but since it’s both our wedding, I know i can’t just plan this wedding and have him show up.

I’ve also googled wedding venues and photographers. We live in a small town and are going to be working with a small budget so I’m limited in lots of things, and advice from my friends whove been married here has been to look outside the box for things. I also save things i see on pintrest in the colors we’ve agreed on, or ideas i like. BUt i dont have any concreate plans, just ideas at this point!

I poke around Pinterest every once in a while, but the only real “planning” I’ve done is decide I want a particular caterer. We’re both vegan and want a vegan wedding, but obviously want our food to appeal to others. I found a vegan caterer whose food is AMAZING and I will seriously schedule everything else about our day around her availability!!

I’ve been married before,so I have a very good idea of what I DON’T want lol.I don’t really have much planned,as I want our wedding to be a reflection of both of us,but I do have an idea of a general feeling/theme I like a lot,and many ideas about details and decorations.

Our wedding isn’t until early March of 2017, but we’re paying for everything ourselves and will be DIY’ing a lot so we absolutely need the time. He swore to me back in April when we went ring shopping that he wouldn’t make me wait until my October birthday for a proposal, so hopefully soon.

So far we have the venue (just got the contract today and we’re putting the deposit next week), and the photographer we really really love. We have the guest list mostly nailed down, and we talk about all the little wedding details every day. I have like 8 different secret Pinterest boards that are dying to be set free, lol… I can’t wait until I can talk about everything officially!

SO & I have discussed the maximum number of guests we’d want, that we don’t want a traditional venue, and we want a country/forest setting, so I have searched online to see if there are any holiday rentals that suit our specifications. I’ve found a few that we will look at when we are officially engaged. I have a fair idea of how I want most things for our wedding, SO already also knows that my dress probably won’t be white, I know who I will have in the bridal party, I have ideas for a gown already (and will probably have it custom made), and we know when abouts we want to be married. We don’t want an overly modern theme either. Like a PP mentioned, I can imagine when we actually are planning our wedding it won’t be as fun as it is now ๐Ÿ˜› We are thinking of keeping most of the details to ourselves so it is a surprise for our guests…

We’ve talked about what we will do for our honeymoon a lot too ๐Ÿ˜€ I am kind of more excited for that than our wedding lol…

I have none of it planned, really, because if we do get married, my boyfriend will definitely want his input to be at least equal. (He’d definitely have more opinions than I would about a wedding.) But I do have two vague wedding ideas in my head — a destination elopement or a big non traditional drunk fun party with all our friends — and I enjoy thinking idly about them, just like, “Oh, how much WOULD an In-N-Out truck cost to rent?” or if I think of a cool venue, looking up whether they do weddings.

I do have a wedding Pinterest board that I use occasionally. I haven’t made any real decisions but I definitely have thought about colors, location, bridal party, what to wear etc. I’ve changed my ideas a few times and I have no clue what my budget will be since my parents want to help pay for it. Also I don’t know if I will have a 1 or 2 year engagement since it depends when he proposes. I do know that I want to go on a cruise for our honeymoon.

I have a board. We also have a guest list, ideas of things I want to DIY. We messaged vendors etc. Next Sunday we are looking at a vacation home to have the wedding weekend at. So, yeah .. we are pretty far into the planning.

Music is the thing I’ve started seriously planning, mostly becuase it’s an important factor for me and it’s easy to do.  So I have playlists and lists of first dance songs, father daughter dance, processional songs, etc.  My SO knows I’ve been planning but not sure he understand the full extent ๐Ÿ™‚

We know what food we want (lol!), we know our Bridesmaid or Best Man and Groomsmen, we know where we want to honeymoon, we know we want to write our own vows, we know we want to get married outside with around 75 guests (I’d like 50 total but he has more family than me), and that’s about it.

I kind of know what theme and colors I want. I do have a Pinterest secret board but rarely pin. I have a couple of things on there but meh.

Oh he knows the exact ring I want and has done his research.

I like to daydream but I don’t really see a point in me planning on my own if I’m not engaged. I would rather talk about it with him because then I know we are on same page which is reassuring.

I purposely didn’t do any pre-planning before I got engaged and I sort of regreted it. The first few months of our engagement were pretty stressful because I really had no idea what I wanted or what my tastes were. I liked everything but nothing at the same time. I wish I had done some pining and had seen what was out there before starting to make big decisions and feeling rushed to make decisions.

Oh wow. I thought I would be the only one on here that isn’t engaged! There’s a name for us too! Waiting bees. I love it! Complete newbie here. I’ve looked at dresses, suits, rings, colour schemes, cakes, bridesmaid/flower girl dresses, centre pieces, venues and all sorts but I only look for inspiration. Like others have said it’s good to be aware of the options out there.
