I was always happy for others myself, but I became aware of a few people who were “waiting” who acted strangely when I got engaged. They’re naturally jealous people though and guess it must be hard if they’re actively “waiting” and other people are moving along so I just try to be nice and not go overboard in gushing about my engagement when they’re around lol.

Yea, I can understand like you know, your bridal party, your Maid/Matron of Honor, your family and his family and what not. But who knows, maybe she wanted to be in your bridal party and is upset about that?????

LOL. This thread is funny to me.

I dont have any waiting friends, but I think my engagement was a little hard on my single ones. I understand the frustrations of waiting, but these girls are completely single at 33 and looking for guys to date. At least when you’re waiting you feel like you’ve found the one. These girls are still questioning if that’s going to happen.

I’m happy for everyone, but sometimes it makes me feel left out. They all talk about wedding plans and the minute I chime in with “oh I’d do_____ at my wedding” everyone makes those snarky comments like “oh when is your wedding again?”. And everyone ignores my advice about things too because I’m not yet engaged.

Nope, I’m always happy when one of my friends tell me they are engaged!
I had typed out such a long paragraph for this but because there isn’t privacy settings I couldn’t post it in fear someone I know would see. But oh my, how I want to say it.
