I’m a Weight Watchers leader, and today, in my meeting, one of my longtime members, probably around 60, told us that she’s getting married in 10 days.
I was shocked because I’ve met her partner before and always assumed he was her husband…
When the group said congratulations, she said “only waited 22 and 1/2 years!”
22 and 1/2 years?????? OMG, I feel like waiting 2 is going to kill me!
So there you have it, never give up hope! LOL LOL LOL.

@laughs: TWENTYTWO AND A HALF?! WHAT?!
My cousin and his gf have been together at least 30 years… but that is a lifestyle choice. They have no intention of ever marrying. Did she say why they decided to get married?

Congrats to her, but I couldn’t have done it. I wouldn’t wait 22.5 years for any man, not even the one I’m with! I love him more than I’ve ever loved anyone, but as my momma says “there ain’t that much love in the world!”

WOW!! that is truly amazing! I guess that goes to show, if you really love someone you will wait

@MexiPino: Yeah, I have no idea why now… but hey, good for them!

Wow! Crazy! I’m relieved I won’t have to wait that long!

Wow! I wouldn’t wait that long because I want kids and want to be married before I have them

Is it bad that “oh now they’ll divorce shortly” popped into my head?? It seems to be all too common.
I think Gene Simmons’ wife waited for YEARS for him to finally put a ring on it.

This is like my mom! My parents were common law for a loooong time (though this is common and accepted in Canada). I didn’t even know they weren’t traditionally married until they decided to have a civil ceremony!

22 and a half years is a long time but considering she started dating in her late 30s she may have already been married and had kids. Still I could do it lol. Or maybe she they were friends for 22 and a half years and and then later they started having feelings. Still al LONG time 🙂 congrats!

@lovelymuse: I’m pretty sure that she has no kids and that they have been romantically involved for all of those 22.5 years… but she also is kind of a hippy intellectual type, and I can imagine her not seeing marriage as a priority.

I don’t know what to say to this…… 22.5 years?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
That is better than me….I’m sad to say that after about 3 years I’ve HAD IT….and wondering if I can hang in there 2 or so more years TOPS. 22.5? And I’m only 30?
Maybe what that woman has really IS love…and if so, then it is worth waiting for..makes me worry about my personal situation. LOL.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Wonder what the backstory is on that! Maybe he was a past love she always pined for and she finally got him?
