When I first stumbled upon Weddingbee after a Google I was super excited to write my first post. I knew SO was going to propose and it was just a matter of when.
Well, I’m not excited anymore. I’m just “fed up” of waiting but even that’s too strong… more just feel detatched from the situation.
Anyway, I’m not having a bad waiting day but I thought I’d share. Sorry if it’s a little depressing…
There are a lot of other things going on with us atm so I know it’s not at the front of our minds. I do hope that when it comes I get some of the excitement back.
Anyone else got “feelings” to share today?
🙂

I stumbled across this a few weeks ago and I really think it sums up my experience while “waiting.” I think I jump from stage to stage on a daily basis, but it’s good to know that other ladies are having the same highs and lows! Plus, it’s pretty entertaining. I hope this makes you smile! I’m sure it’ll happen soon enough, and you’ll have a beautiful ring on your finger and a wonderful fiance!

Yes! Whenever my Fiance and I discuss anything that isn’t school, he says, “Not any time soon.” Marriage? Babies? NOT ANYTIME SOON. But then he’ll bring up that he wants children with me and marraige soonish. . .it gets irritating and I just feel like I shouldn’t want those things since it’s “not any time soon”!
Technically, I’m still waiting, because I have a place-holder ring on my finger and he hasn’t actually proposed yet. He has things in HIS priority, and I feel like mine aren’t even entertained. I just feel sometimes it’s better to detach yourself from those situations and focus on the things you need the most. Pick up a new hobby, adopt a pet, etc.

I joined two years ago! We were actively planning, but then I took a hiatus when we both lost our jobs and moved back in with our parents. I finally came back once things started to get real a few months ago. I believe I would be in a sour mood a lot because of waiting if we hadn’t gone ring shopping together. Going from if to when definitely helped put me in a better mood.
@katiebeary: Ugh. Don’t you hate soon?! My SO would use “soon” all the time. When will we get engaged? Soon. He’s been saying soon for a couple years now. He and I apparently have two very different definitions of soon!

@Mrs. Bear Cheese Pie: I agree completely. His “soon” is my “not soon enough” lol. I try to stay patient, but sometimes it’s hard for me not to just want to completely ignore it like it’s never going to happen so I don’t get disappointed how not soon “soon” really is.

According to the chart that SaraB2602 posted, I am in the The BLAH/UGH Stage. It should happen any day or week now….but every day seems so agonizing. I don’t even bring it up unless he does (even though i just want to yell “wheres my proposal and RING”) LOL. i TRY to keep myself busy with cleaning the whole house, cooking intricate meals, laundry, blogging, reading and working out.
