Mine would be that he keeps letting his damn plans slip and inadvertently pushing it back more. It’s funny but also annoying ๐Ÿ™‚

Every now and then my SO will bring up things about weddings on his own.  Yesterday it was “What do you think about our kitties being the ring-bearer and the flower girl?”  He was joking, obviously, but I’m excited that he finds himself thinking about it.

And then, he keeps reminding me to try to find a way to try on the engagement ring I most like to make sure I really like it.  The problem is it’s a new style, so jewelers that carry the designer don’t have it in yet… but a local jeweler is getting one in within the next two weeks and will call me when it’s in ๐Ÿ™‚

@Sparkidoodle:  It’s kinda fun and frustrating at the same time joking about it, isn’t it?  Yeah, I think I am going to pick my ring.  SO is terrified he’d pick something I wouldn’t like, and he knows me well… he knows if I didn’t like the ring I wouldn’t say anything about it.

My other half has wanted to know my ring size,  frankly I am not sure what it is lol.   We went to go to a discount jewellers but the sale’s lady just wanted a quick sale and I didn’t bother asking what my size was.

He’s not thinking of timelines per say, but he’s headed in the right direction. I’m 35 and he’s 41. This weekend he referred to his mother as “your mother-in-law.” I didn’t say anything, but it made me smile. He routinely calls my family “the in-laws” and I haven’t corrected him. In December, I joked about wanting a ring for Christmas and he told me that I wouldn’t want the ring he would pick out in two weeks.

It makes me think if I put my foot down and said, “I want to be engaged by this-and-this date,” he would make it happen. I just don’t think we’re quite there yet, so I haven’t asked anything outside the hypothetical. After our two-year anniversary I might try bringing it up for real.

@Sparkidoodle:  This weekend I was helping him prepare for an interview and asking him general questions.

I asked him a question a long the lines of “what are your goals for the next 5 years”

And he went quiet and said that is something like “I would prefer to discuss with someone else”. I looked over at him and he just gave me a really sly smike. I tried once to press for more info, but it was clear he wasn’t budging. Next question!

A comment out of the blue: “Engagment rings are really expensive.”

We have talked about engagement and wedding quite a bit, but it was this sticker shock comment that gave away his perusing fine jewelry for the first time ever.

My boyfriend got up one morning before I did and put the TV on in the living room…well it was on Say Yes to the Dress and I waited about 10 min in bed (I can hear the TV from my bedroom) to see if he was going to change the channel.  After 10 min he didn’t change it so I got up and made us tea and then sat down next to him and proceeded to tell me about the episode and seemed genuinely interested in the show! Then he asked me what kind of style dress I would choose.  We’ve only been dating 4 months but I can tell he is slowly opening the door to talking about our future because any guy who wasn’t ready to talk weddings would have changed the channel lol.

Mines would be that Im really short – like 4″8′ and a half to be exact….

so he tells everyone that he will propose once I reach 5’ft (like this will ever happen). Anyway, so Sunday night he says to me “Your’re not 5ft yet????

My birthday is the day after V’day and he tells me that he isnt big on those “Hallmark” holidays, but could he be telling me this to throw me off????

Things that make you go hmmmm
