Hi guys! Just wanted to stop in and wave and check in. I’ve had a better waiting period lately but there’s been some weird things that have happened that I’ve had to deal with involving my specific ring. I hope everyone is doing well!

@DrD711:  Hi! I’m doing well! SO and I went ring shopping. It was really overwhelming and we ended up only going to one store, because after that we were pooped! We’ve been looking online too, but it’s really difficult to really see what the rings would look like on my hand – different ring sizes make a big difference with proportions. Hopefully we can go out again and try on more!! But I don’t want to scare him off with my excitement either… haha.

@weddingclueless:  congrats on that big step!!! I know what you mean about it being overwhelming. We only went to two, and then my SO was like “I’ll take it from here!” I am fairly sure he ordered me a ring online that looked like one of the ones I loved/tried on in a store. Good luck with the ring search, but be forewarned, after this ends the anxiety may go up! Lol it has for me!!

@MissMarple:

No, we don’t.  We really do need to discuss this considering our ages.  The only thing that we’ve discussed timeline wise is that he’s not going to wait 5 or 6 years to propose.  I have a really good friend who has been dating her boyfriend for 6 years, and my SO said that he won’t do that to me.  He keeps saying things about almost being a member of my family.  I really don’t think that he’s going to wait beyond our 2 year anniversary.  At least, I hope he doesn’t!

Oh hey guys! My waiting period has been pretty good lately ๐Ÿ™‚ Neither of us are stressed about the wait for the proposal. Actually, we are trying to decide on the metal type for the ring! We’ve been debating between all rose gold and rose gold halo/white band for a while now.

@happyxmichelle:  Your post clicked something in place in my mind.  I am having the S.A.D. thing but I realized I’m expecting a proposal and ring to swoop in and motivate me to exercise, drink more water and remember my vitamins.  Like you, I know I should do all those things to pop out of S.A.D. (though, I’m really only diagnosed with feeling B.L.A.H.) but it just ain’t happenin’.  Hope he gets it to me soon!  You too!!!

Here’s my super long post about my awesome engagement! I apologize for the length…lots of stuff went down that day. Plus I like writing. Haha. =)

Goofiest, craziest, most perfect proposal.

@SomedaymrsWDS, I’ve been hearing lots of great things about sunlamps really improving people’s moods during this time of year. I’ve always just tried to get through it on my own. Some years it’s harder than others. I’m thinking this year might be a little easier now, but I have been getting back on track with eating better, drinking lots of water (and a lot less coffee!) and working out more! I’ve been feeling a lot better than I have been! Good luck to you! B.L.A.H. isn’t so fun, either! ๐Ÿ™‚

Aaarrrggghhh! (as Charlie Brown would say – I watched the Peanuts Christmas Movie last night).  So, as I’ve mention beforee (oh, say 20 times) STBF (soon to be fiancee) ordered The Ring at the beginning of the month.  The jeweler said it would be ready in about two weeks, which is today.  I’ve been trying not to get excited about this weekend because I doubt the ring will be done in time (just naturally pessimistic I suppose, but mostly trying to ward off the crushing defeat if it’s not this weekend – we generally do some sort of road trip, winery visit, etc. every weekend so it wouldn’t be a solid “tell”).  I’ve been thinking Christmas Eve.  He said Christmas Day was cliche (eye roll, like I CARE if it’s cliche – which I don’t think it is).  I feel certain that if it comes in by Christmas he’ll do it right away.  He gets excited about presents and we usually exchange ours Christmas Eve anything.  And I think he’d like parents to see the ring (we leave to visit his parents on the 27th).

What is causing my curious excited anxiety is that last night on the phone (we don’t see each other M-Th every other week because of our visitation schedule with our kids).  So on the phone we were saying we’d missed each other and couldn’t wait to see each other tonight.  I reminded him of a friends birthday party tonight.  He seemed waaayyyy overly concerned about it, had no memory of it.  After Facebook searching I found out it’s the Friday after New Years, the 3rd.  I am a goofus, I know.  But then he mumbled something about maybe having something for me tomorrow night (tonight) if I’m good.  I nonchalantly said “I’m never good, you know that”.  And promptly changed the subject.  Once he bought the ring I haven’t said a word about engagements except to tell him that I would love NYE at midnight but that with family I’d prefer Christmas eve.  But really I’d prefer 30 minutes after he picks it up from the jewelers.  He kept a poker face.  So in the interest of shutting it up I didn’t say what is it? huh? what? what is it?  So there is always a chance I heard him wrong (he mumbled) or he’s assuming the ring will be in today or he’ll decide to wait.

Aaarrrggghhhh!!!! Very excited here.Innocent

Standby for a gripe/vent session. We had a great weekend last week. We had an invite for a Christmas party and tickets to a concert out of town, overnight in a hotel, and plans to meet friends for lunch/wine, etc. For one brief moment I allowed myself to ponder and “what if?” leading up to the weekend.

Until the Thursday night before our awesome weekend. We’re laying on the couch and he says “Mark is second guessing himself and not getting Joy a ring for Christmas. They have too many issues to work out before they get engaged, though she wants a ring so bad she can taste it.” I say good, I’m glad he isnt going to rush it. He then says “Mark asked if I was going to propose to you this weekend.” I’m rapt at this point, my eyebrows are dancing up into my hairline. I say “Oh really? Why did he ask that?” He says “I don’t know. I told him I’m not and I’m not proposing for Christmas. He said I should get a promise ring for you. He might get one for Joy.” My stomach was churning at ths moment and I said-“Yeah, I don’t want a promise ring. We’re not in high school. I’m sure Joy will be thrilled and I will help her celebrate if Mark surprises her with one” I tried not to sound bitchy, but a Promise ring!???  Just a few weeks ago he woke me up to ask if I wanted a large center stone or small stone with details? Granted,  I fell asleep on the couch and a commercial must have prompted that question, maybe he was thinking of a large stone for a promise ring!! The other day he looked into my eyes and said “Are you sure you want to spend the rest of your life with me?”  Oh, to be in his head for just a moment!!!!
