So I have been working my dream job on contract for the past 2 years and finally an permenant position became avalible. I have made it through all stages of the interview process and I know it is between myself and one other person. It has been almost a week since my refrences were do and am expecting a decision to be made soon. I have a week off until I go back to work and possibly find out if I a.) have my job permenantly or b.) am jobless.
Have other bees on here had to endure that crazy wait. What helped you pass the time? I feel like the stress is going to explode inside of me. I am pretty sure I am driving my family insane with talking about it (even though my Fiance is honestly the most supportive man). I just dont know how to calm down! How did you do it? All advice is appreciated, thanks for letting me vent!

Just went through the process of waiting for a job offer, and honestly what helped (in addition to bugging family & friends) was interviewing for other positions as well. This made the suspense more bearable and also made me feel about more in control of my destiny. Having options helps to give you leverage whether it be to negotiate salary when you do get the offer you want, or just maintain your sanity while you wait, and possibly open doors to other potential opportunities. It also helped me practice my responses to the interview questions. I’d also say the power of positive thinking. I claimed it, said it out loud, and dismissed any negative or self-doubting thoughts. Someone else gave me that advice and it helped on a number of levels. Lastly remember that what’s meant to be is yours and all things work toward the good, so no matter what happens it’s what’s supposed to happen. If you’re spiritual pray and meditate on it too.
