hello bees! I need some advice;-) I ordered my dress last year on August 29th. The shop said it would take 5-6 months until it arrives. The shop owner told me around February it should be here. Well, we then suggest to wrote down approx. March since I have enough time for alterations for my summer wedding. Somehow I hoped it would be there in February. So what do you say, should I call the shop and ask what the status is? Or would that be to flashy? My plan for now is to call them at the latest in the middle of March, but I really can’t wait to try on the dress of my dreams again and I’m so curious/anxious if it fits properly!!
Thanks for your opinions!

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with just giving them a friendly call. I’m always calling people to ‘check’ on things!

Same thing happened to me! Ordered at the end of August, the set my first fitting for this Friday (tomorrow). And had not called me about it. I called in last week and they said they had a bit of a delay but there was more than enough time since my alterations will not be very complicated. They said they would probably receive it around end of march. I’m not happy about it because it is only about a month before the wedding and would prefer more time just in case (I have a nightmare where the order the WRONG dress and there’s not enough time to make mine anymore)
Also I have to take days off from work because I ordered it in my home town where I’m getting married and it’s a 4h drive and they only do alterations on weekday mornings
Call them to check up on it! You are paying a significant amount for your dress and you should call all the times you need to. You’ll feel a lot better too

thank you all!
@betty: arghhh! isn’t that frustrating?! Would they’ve even called you telling you about the delay? I’m with you re the nightmare. Just told a friend of mine yesterday that I’ve already gotten nighmares that they’ve ordered the wrong dress and weren’t able to deliver mine in time!! Shows off that all brides have the same fears;-) But it’s very frustrating for you to be forced to take a day off:-( Luckily, my bridal store is just 10 min. away from my office. Keep my fingers crossed that all is going well for you!! It surely will:-)
Probably I should do a phone call now;-)

UPDATE: Ahhhh!!! NEWS!!!!! My dress is in!!!!!!! That is such a funny story!! Just called the bridal store and the lady said that she just wanted to send the card to me that my dress came in!! I have an appointment next Tuesday. They were totally booked for tomorrow;-( Now I have to be patient over the weekend *sigh*. And it’s just to try it on, the alterations will be done 8-10 weeks prior to the wedding. But I HAVE TO SEE IT AGAIN!!! And to try it on of course. Another nightmare is that we ordered a size to small;-)) Keep you in the loop and thanks again! 😉 (my dress is the isadora marie, btw;-)

Luucky you!!
I’m also kind of mad at them because they ordered the size too big. The sample was already quite lose on me, and I told her I had gained a few pounds on my recent vacation but I would be back to normal in a month! And she insisted and ordered a size even bigger than the sample!! WTF??
She kept saying it was way better and the alterations would look better and i should just trust her on this… but I’m so annoyed and i can’t believe I let her do it… Arg! I just need to try it on already to calm down…
Take pictures for us when you go next week!

I will! Hope that I’m allowed since I bought it;-)
Wish you alle the best! Everthing will be just fine, I’m sure! Probably after the first fitting you will feel calmer, totally understand that you are excited right now. The problem is really that we have to trust our consultants. They have to tell us what size we have to order. But trust on comlpete strangers who make money with us is sometimes a bit hard. My consultant advised me to buy one size bigger than the sample, I would have been gone with 2 sizes bigger. Well, let’s wait and see. Problaby she was right, I lost some pounds since August. I’ll knwo more next week…
