I tried so hard to keep my nails nice while waiting but he proposed on a camping trip and like half of them broke and the rest had dirt underneath. So I just hid my nails in the first pictures I took lol

Do your nails whatever way you like! I promise in the moment he really won’t care.

My SO and I have been talking about engagement/designing the ring/ etc. I found out the date accidentally, (thanks to my sisters big mouth haha, but I’m over it) so now I can plan to get a manicure the day before. But before that, I had told him my nails would be painted weekly up to when he proposes so they can look good. I do them myself so it’s been easy to keep up with. They look terrible now, about time for another manicure, but love the blue color I have on!

I’ve been living on pinterest trying to find what colors to do. I love the 4 nails one color one another look. My ring is platinum with a sapphire peekaboo stone for my SO’s birth stone, so I’ve been thinking of a matte navy with a glitter silver on my ring finger nail. Here’s a picture of my nails now, I’ll be redoing them today though, this nailpolish is cheap and already chipping ):57486082_2275988822676830_3352328408112562176_n Seriously though, do what you want. Yes, keep him in mind if there’s colors he really doesn’t like, but they are your nails in the end. Do what makes you happy, and what you think will look gorgeous with your ring!

Love seeing everyone’s waiting nails! My bf bought the ring and I think he will be proposing in the next week or two. He told me if I wanted my nails done I should get them done soon so I did! Now hopefully he asks this week while they still look freshly done.

I knew when I was getting my ring(wedding was fully planned already and I was just going to wait on an ering, but FH let is slip that we could go ahead and get me a ‘for now ring’) I was determined to have pastel nails, and painted them up, I hated it and went for something more me. He loves it and wouldnt care either way, I’m super obsessed with the dark nails and bright ring

I (unintentionally) have a white nail polish from Essie called “She said yes”. He quietly said that it will happen in June, so I think that I’m going to wear that polish every day that month lol.

honeybee2020 :  “…I dont really care for the French, but he does… He made the comment the other night that he didn’t want me to have some crazy color on when he does propose.”

I’m sorry to say, Bee, but this sounds ridiculous. Why does this man have such specific opinions about YOUR nails?

Personally, I don’t do my nails on a regular basis. I figure I’ll get them done and snap a pic right after the proposal. Having them done just so I can take a picture in the moment is not a priority. But if that’s something that makes you happy, more power to you!

slyfox4 :  we ordered it online, it’s a moissanite from doveggs (so, super inexpensive, but so far so nice) I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on it and the setting ❤ it’s a very clean style and will look great with my 5 stone diamond band after the wedding 😍 be prepared for a pic heavy beachy post in june

Purmaid2019 :  Wow, very inexpensive! That’s great. I am getting something very similar created with Provence Gems. Can’t wait to see more pictures!

slyfox4 :  I was happily waiting for our next anniversary (1 year mark and 10 years together) for an ering to save money and have extra on our trip, but FH wanted me to have something nice as a placeholder, this is great. So pretty, so sparkly, I’ve been wearing it nonstop (except washing hands, lotion, hand sanitizer and sleep) since last Friday evening and it’s not showing any wear(I’m notoriously hard on jewelry and sterling tarnishes on my in hours, so I didnt truly know what to expect)

Here’s a secret from a nail tech, so shhhhhh lol. Even if your wear polish, once it is fully dried you can put a gel topcoat over the polish to help them last longer. You can get a decent uv/led light from Amazon for 20-30 bucks. Also….. if you have problems with discoloration use a hard gel as a top coat. The downside is that hard gel does not soak off but instead needs to be lightly filed away, look for IBD hard gel in a pot. But it will keep a French looking new until you take it off. And for all of the hair box dying bees, a hard gel topcoat will keep your nails from staining.

And please make sure you Lightly buff your nails and use a base coat prior to polish or gel. It tremendously helps the staying power. I favor orly base for polish and gelish for regular gel.

honeybee2020 :  My honest suggestion to you is to either not share details you don’t want people commenting on or don’t post on a public forum if you can’t stand differing opinions.
