If you have already had your surgery this summer, then I say go dress shopping girl!!! Get it out of your system. Go by yourself, its relaxing and fun. Then go with all the peeps you love and let them know what dresses you love.

I had my reduction 10 years ago when I was 19.  Before my reduction the girls never fluctuated with my weight…after the reduction, if I lost weight they became the incredible shrinking ta-tas.  Honestly, your body will need time to readjust to a new normal before you try on anything…especially something as important as a wedding gown.  I don’t mean to be brash, but have they even dropped yet?  I was totally pumped until I realized the swelling was going down and they weren’t sitting up under my chin anymore. Smile

If I were you (having been through the same dilemma), I would at least wait until your Maid/Matron of Honor gets there.  I thought I decided on a gown in March but waited for my Man of Honor to visit.  When I took him to the bridal salon to show him, I instantly fell in love with a different gown that had just arrived from a new Fall Collection.  You will probably want someone else’s opinion so if you start ahead of time and find something you like, you may be disappointed if others don’t feel the same way you do.

That being said-you only live once…if you really really really want to go just do it!  There are no rules…do what feels good to you!

You don’t have to wait. I’d go.

I took people with me and I fear I got talked into a dress.

I feel the same as you. I don’t want to go shopping for a dress too early due to many reasons… For me, I almost made an appointment once, but then caught myself before doing it. And in the mean time I just focus on other wedding details!

I waited like 10 months after getting engaged to go shopping. It was painful, but I also knew I wanted to lose more weight before going so that’s how I held on… Do you have weight loss goals or get fit goals you cOuld work on in the meantime?
