Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying? Plan to start after another year.

What is keeping you waiting? Saving more $$$ and buying a new house as we want more space.

What is on your to do list before a baby? One more big overseas trip, enjoying time with just my husband. Drinking wine!

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay? Studying something I have always wanted to study and training my dog.

beetle72 :  Mine looks very similar to yours to start off with 😉

Age? We’re both 29, I turn 30 next month.

Number of kids? 0

Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying? We’ve agreed to start TTC in January, but I have baby fever BAD now and would love to move the date up. I had my IUD out just this week and I’m on prenatals.

What is keeping you waiting? Mostly we have 2 big trips coming up – one is just in 2 weeks time and the other over the holidays. It woudn’t be the end of the world to be pregnant on either of them but logically I know I’d enjoy them much more if I wasn’t. This is DH’s main reason for delaying, he says he wants me in top form as they are likely our last travel adventures for a while. Also I’m a teacher and getting pregnant now would not line up great with the school year… though there is only a very small window where that happens anyway, but that’s probably just me convincing myself I should just go for it now. >.<

What is on your to do list before a baby? I’m trying to get into better shape. I want to be strong for my pregnancy and in the hopes of a faster recovery. I’ve been doing the Fitness Blender FB30 program and really like it!

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay? I’ve been listening to a podcast by some former Bachelor/Bachelor in Paradise contestants called Babes and Babies. The bachelor is my guilty pleasure but even if you’ve never seen the show it’s still a good podcast. I don’t know if it actually keeps the baby fever at bay though, it probably more feeds it!

Oooh how fun!

Age? I am 28, Darling Husband is 30

Number of kids? We don’t have any right now, plan on only having one!

Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying? We have plans to start trying next year. I’ll probably go off birth control in January, then we are traveling to Amsterdam and Belgium in April, then we would probably start trying after that.

What is keeping you waiting? We were in Costa Rica in July, so I want to wait 6 months to avoid zika, then I don’t want to be pregnant for our April trip. We wanted to travel as much as we could before a baby, and I think we’ve done a pretty good job!

What is on your to do list before a baby? We are currently painting our future nursery (!!), and want to get some other house stuff done. Want to read Taking Charge of your Fertility and start temping possibly, so I can become familiar with my cycle. Would be good to save up more money, too, of course.

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay? Oh God, the baby fever has been bad the past few weeks! It’s a little embarrassing, but I already put together an Amazon baby registry which is private right now. But yeah I have everything all picked out for the most part! And I’ve been doing lots of research on car seats/strollers/carriers and other baby items. I’ve been figuring out how I want to nursery to look, too. We’ve talked about some baby names we like, and have a short list. This stuff just makes the wait harder, though, to be honest!

Age? Darling Husband and I are both 30.

Number of kids? None

Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying?  My IUD is due to come out this month, and I also have to get off a medication before we can start.  Hoping my period returns quicly after my IUD comes out and that getting off this medication doesn’t take too long.  I would love to start trying by this summer.

What is keeping you waiting?  Medication taper is the biggest one.

What is on your to do list before a baby?  Reach a healthier weight, work with whatever doctors and therapists I need to to stay balanced either without my meds or on a safer med to prepare for pregnancy.

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay?  Relishing in sleeping a lot and reminding myself often that that luxury ends once baby fever is rememdied… lol.

Age? I just turned 28 2 weeks ago  my H just turned 32 last week

Number of kids? 0

Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying?

I go back and forth a lot. We keep saying January we will start trying.

What is keeping you waiting?

I want to travel to Asia and Scandinavia before I am fully pregnant. We go to Scandinavia in August and hoping Asia in October. I’m also doing my MBA and will be done in August.

What is on your to do list before a baby?

See above. Travel and MBA.

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay?

Telling myself that it’s worth it to get in some great experiences. I suspect I may have a hard time getting pregnant so I want to start trying but then if I don’t and get pregnant in under 6 months then I’ll be pregnant and can’t do the things I want. But if it takes a year or so, then the later I start the longer it’ll take. So many things to consider. Ah!

1111makeawish :  Oh that’s coming up quickly! Sending you good vibes for a healthy sticky baby on the first try ❤️ Dealing with infertility is so hard, but knowing others are in the same bait helps a lot.

beetle72 :  thank you ❤️ I know lots of doctors don’t recommend quite that long between pregnancies after a csection, but lots of doctors recommend a repeat c instead of VBAC too. I had preterm labor for 14 weeks with DS too, so I know the closer together we have them the more likely I am to have preterm birth and a repeat c. But I’m sooooo ready for another squishy baby! Glad for this thread so I don’t feel alone in my baby fever.

Very nice!

Age? 28

Number of kids? None

Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying? Our plans to start trying are vague, and not in the immediate future; maybe more like 2 to 5 years from now. We got married this past June after 10 years together, and we still don’t feel ready!

What is keeping you waiting? We really want to just enjoy being DINKs for a while longer. Also, I have no patience; even our cat disturbing our sleep at night really annoys me, so I don’t think I’m quite willing to deal with a baby just yet.

What is on your to do list before a baby? 1. Travel: we’re looking to go to Germany (Oktoberfest), Spain, England+France+Italy, and maybe a few other places we’d rather go to before having kids. However, there’s 2 trips I think I’d like to do with kids: West Coast Train trip (Seattle to LA) and a cross country train trip (NYC to LA)=D. 2. DEFINITELY NEED a master bathroom; nothing fancy, just on the same level of the house as our room since we only have one cramped bathroom on the ground floor (I’ve fallen on our stairs too many times already)

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay? focusing on travel and home improvements (mostly “gardening” and organizing). Hoping to add some closets soon!

We are in open enrollment for work, and we have a daycare flex account. This means you take a portion of each check and put it into a flex account. You submit your daycare receipts and they deposit the money back into your bank, or you can pay the daycare provider with it.

It’s like a flex spending account for healthcare. If you don’t use it, you lose it though.

For the first time in years, I had to calculate the number of weeks of daycare we would pay IF my daughter went to the school district preschool in 2019 to make sure we would have expenses to match what was put into the account!!

I mean, of course we would pay enough January to September, but the fact that I have to check means our possible ttc time is coming soon!

ETA, we pay over twice the maximum limit set by the irs so if I did the maximum irs limit and her daycare expense stopped this year, we would lose the money that we didn’t have expense for

beetle72 :  OOH Me!

Age? 28, Hubby is 29.

Number of kids? None

Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying? We decided to start trying in February after we get back from our Hawaii trip (our real honeymoon). I am taking prenatals and tracking my cycles.

What is keeping you waiting? We are waiting for a few reasons. First (which seems a bit selfish) I do not want to be pregnant on our Honeymoon in February. This will most likely be our last big trip before baby, and I want to enjoy it to the fullest! I also would like to loose some weight before TTC.

What is on your to do list before a baby? I am working on getting healthier. Working out on a consistent basis, making better food choices and loosing some weight. I have a goal weight to be before we try, but my main goal is to be healthier when we TTC. We are also trying to get major house projects done and save some money up so I can take a full 12 weeks maternity leave.

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay? I am doing this by focusing on the moment. Right now is for me and hubby. Very soon it will all be about getting pregnant. I am savoring these months.

beetle72 :  Love love love this thread idea!!!! I am slightly more excited about TTC than I am the wedding, to be honest, so this really thrills me.

Age? I’m 24, Fiance is 31.

Number of kids? 0

Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying? We are engaged, to be wed on 05/30/2020. We chose to have a long engagement so we could pay for it ourselves and be debt-free. We plan to start TTC before the 2-year wedding anniversary. My nexplanon implant is up on 12/2020 so I figure maybe we just won’t use anything and see what happens.

What is keeping you waiting? We aren’t married yet (big deal to me), both of us have a little debt to be paid off, and I’m still in college for my BS in Accounting.

What is on your to do list before a baby?

  1. Get married.
  2. Pay off ALL debt so we have more flexibility with my career (I could be a WAH mom with my own bookkeeping business, but that wouldn’t bring in as much income as having a part-time job).
  3. Finish my  college – I couldn’t imagine having the workload I do now with a child to look after.

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay? Remembering that I am only 24, and none of our “to do” list is complete.

Age? Both 26, soon to be 27

Number of kids? 0

Where are you at right now and do you have plans to start trying? We plan to start trying in January! I am so excited! I’m definitely nervous about the fact that it could take a while because I know it will really affect me. So fingers crossed we don’t have any issues.

What is keeping you waiting? We have a trip in January that I don’t want to be pregnant for. If it weren’t for the trip, we would probably start trying in December.

What is on your to do list before a baby? I want to go to the gym more. I also would like to get the future nursery painted (we’ve been meaning to do this all year). I knew I wanted to be married for at least a year before we started trying so we’ve completed that. Our jobs are pretty stable and we’re comfortable with where we are at financially so everything is good to go in my mind!

How are you keeping the baby fever at bay? It’s definitely getting harder as we get closer. I read a lot of TTC forums and I enjoy watching pregnancy vlogs on Youtube. I went off BC last month and have been tracking my cycle since. I just started taking prenatals. These last few months of the year are always so fun with all the holidays so I’m just going to enjoy while it’s just me and the hubby and I’m not sick.
