@cant.wait.to.be.mrs.d:  Yey I will!

I will try to have the list updated for tomorrow, so if anyone has any TTC updates, this is your opportunity to be placed in the list.

I am so excited!!

We are waiting until I graduate nursing school and have a job for a few months. Our earliest time to TTC if I get hired right away will be November 2014. Realistically it will probably be more like Dec/Jan. DH just admitted that he also feels the baby fever. We have decided to start researching nursey stuff to fill the void before we can start TTC. We are also in the process of adopting a 3 year old rescue dog. πŸ™‚

It’s official, I asked DH and he agreed to start this fall around our 2-year anniversary!! πŸ™‚ So what should I be doing now? I am not on BC, I chart and take pre-natals. When is a good time to schedule a doctor’s appointment. I want to be ready for August.

@cant.wait.to.be.mrs.d:  Good! I’m glad that it’s not an earth shattering change, but I understand how pushing it further back can sting. DH and I had a big argument/discussion last night about TTC and I’m happy that our date is far enough away that it didn’t send me into a full panic. But now we have the same start date!

@michiru4ever:  PUPPY! I think it’s great you guys have so many things going on your life! I’m sure when the time does come you’ll be happy you got your personal goals in order before adding a baby into the mix.

@candy11:  I would schedule ASAP! They need to make sure you have the anti-bodies to a certain diseases (I can’t remember the exact ones) and if you don’t you’ll need to get them before TTC. It would also be good to just get screened so if something unexpected comes up (ie pre-diabetic or high cholesterol, etc) then you can get those things under control before starting. I got all of my testing done last year and it’s nice to have peace of mind. My doctor’s gave me the all clear with the caution that I should really try to continue to lose weight prior to trying.

@annejuju Is right as soon as possible is a good idea as they will check you for rubella immunity and if (like me) your levels are not high enough you then have to wait for AF to arrive and take a pg test before they’ll give it (ok they may skip the pg test but I think my Dr wanted to be doubly sure I wasn’t pregnant first) – then you have to wait at least 6 weeks before you are allowed to try πŸ™ in my case it was probably better because I was weakening and was going to tell DH I was good to go sooner (I was the hold out) but after waiting the appropriate length of time after the rubella we only moved TTC up by one month anyway!

@candy11:  schedule about 4-5 days before actually because the test results take a few days to come back, so then hopefully when they come back if needed you’ll be on AF already and don’t need to wait around (I had about 10 days to wait). I’m not sure how common it is to “wear off” thou I don’t know anyone else who had. GL πŸ™‚

@candy11:  Congrats, that’s exciting!  It sounds like you’re already getting pretty prepared, but now would be a good time to schedule your TTC appointment.  That way you can make sure you have plenty of time to do things like update your immunizations if you need to.  I just turned my annual appointment in February into my TTC appointment, even though I’m still not starting till the fall – I had my tetanus booster, MMR titer, and just talked to my doctor about other things I could be doing (and what I’m already doing, like losing weight and reworking my diet).

@candy11:  Yay for Fall! Are you keeping the list now? Since we are NTNP right now, I think I’m no longer waiting so I guess you can consider me a graduate!

To all the ladies on the thread, good luck to you all when you start! This chat was a really nice place to go on WB and I felt at home here!

Hi everyone! Just popping in to say hello and check on what everyone else has going on. I’m still on for late fall/early winter TTC start date (I’m in for December on the list and that’s probably pretty accurate).

I’m finishing the last pack of BCP that I have on this prescription this Satureday, and have an appt with my new OBGYN next week. So at the very least I’ll be off BCP for a week. If we had a random oops it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but I think we’ll at least try to prevent a baby this soon. I’m going to see what my doctor says about what I should be doing to prepare to TTC in several months and when I should OFFICIALLY go off BCP.

We’re also getting a puppy in two weeks, so I’m pretty excited about that.

Thanks  @candy11: for offering to take over the list!

And jealous to everyone who’s closer than me to the start date!
