Age: 27, DH is 31 (We’ll be 28 & 32 in June)

When will you TTC?: November 2013 – no official bump up or back, but we’re going to reevaluate as it gets closer.

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Trying to eat better, save money, get life stuff in order (promotion?)

Do you chart? Link to the chart: I have an IUD so I’ve been tracking my periods (or traces of them) but that’s about it

What are the big plans for the summer?: I’m going out of state for 5 weeks (2 hours away from DH) to finish my undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s). I’m nervous and excited. It’ll probably be nice to have some time away from work, and the degree is definitely necessary for promotion at work. But being away from DH and my job (which I love) for so long is definitely nerve wracking (not to mention the loss of wages). I’m planning my SIL baby shower in August as well.

Thanks!! You’re getting close, too! I know what you mean about the scary/exciting all at the same time. But it’s the best kind of scary!!

@kate02121:  I totally understand and have the same feeling as you!  It’s quite amazing when hubby finally tells you that if you do become pregnant he is OK with it.  And good luck with figuring out your cycle after BC I am still doing that ๐Ÿ˜‰  I added you as a friend on FF.

PS the list is gorgeous!

@candy11:   I know its at least good that we’re basically there financially and career-wise, and are just waiting on the emotional aspect.  To be honest, I’m not surprised, my DH did the same thing when it came to proposing to me.  He kept saying that he just needed X, Y & Z events to happen first, but I don’t think he ever thought past X happening, let alone Y or Z.  So when they all finally happened, he was kind of lost emotionally on the topic.

And to be honest, its not like I want a baby zomg right nao, but in thinking about the topic, I realized there are a lot of limiting factors that are going to push our start date back anyway, even if DH gets emotionally ready sooner.  The house we’re moving in to is barely going to fit the 2 of us, so no room for an extra person, even a tiny one.  Its also only a 2-year job, so we WILL be moving and switching jobs (and health insurance) at some point.  Packing and moving or being without health insurance for a few months WHILE pregnant sounds like a nightmare, so its really better if we just wait it out until he’s on to the next job to even start trying, which is sucky but it can’t be helped.

@kate02121:  What a crazy concept, to be okay with getting pregnant… even now, we are not planning on it for another year, but it’s weird to be in a place where it would be fine.  It’s been so long of feeling like it would be the end of the world!

Age: DH and I are both 27

When will you TTC?: This fall/winter (October at the earliest, but more likely December/January)

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Eating healthy, working out, trying to lose a little weight to get in my best shape, taking prenatal vitamins, looking into our health insurance options

Do you chart? Link to the chart: Not yet, but I’m going off the pill in July!  Just 6 more weeks, then I will get to start charting.

What are the big plans for the summer?: Starting work on my dissertation, several races (10k, triathlon, Urban Adventures bike race), and some travel (FL in July for my BFF’s bachelorette, a week in the Smoky Mountains with my family, 5-year college reunion).  It should be a fun summer!

DH and had a talk about TTC this evening – it was a little bittersweet.  It was great because he was talking about it in the most open, ready way I’ve ever heard from him (he said he’s emotionally totally ready and he wants a baby just as much as I do). But it made me a little sad, too – we can’t start TTC until we’re financially more stable, and things are up in the air right now.  I’m finishing my degree, and DH is starting a company.  If things take off and he gets investors or gets bought out at the end of the summer (which is a possibility), we’ll TTC in October.  But if that doesn’t happen…..?  He’ll be back on the job market, and we’ll just have to wait and see.  So, I’m happy he’s feeling so much more ready, but I’m hoping we’ll have stability sooner rather than later!

@MissFireFlower:  Ugh, my face has given me more trouble in my twenties than it ever did as a teen.  I’m hoping that maybe birth control is actually to blame (I’ve been on the pill since I was almost 19)!  We’ll see come July….
