Age: 26 & DH is 27
When will you TTC?: We’re so ready to start trying, but I’ve received two promotions in 3 months (not complaining!), and I don’t know when we should start now. At some point, we’re just going to have to pull the goalie. Maybe January. First of the new year! Will also be my 1yr work anniversary!
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Continuing to build my yoga practice. I’m just now getting into advanced poses, and want to focus on that. There’s a lot of poses I won’t be able to do when pregnant.
Do you chart? Link to the chart: I only chart my cycle so we know which week to avoid. I’ve consistently had a 28 day cycle.
What are you most looking forward to now that FALL is finally here?: Pumpkin every’thang

Age: I’m 27 and DH is about to be 30!
When will you TTC?: Since I am not on BC we are technically NTNP right now, but we are going to start really trying again in October 2014. I am in school right now so it’s not the ideal time to get PG but we decided that if it happens it happens and if not then we will go back to our RE and get Femara next year.
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: I am trying to lose about 40-50 lbs (lost 9 so far) and I am also about to start a supplement called Serrpeptase. It’s an enzyme that is supposed to break up scar tissue and reduce inflammation and since I have one blocked tube from a previous ectopic, I am hoping it will help.
Do you chart? Link to the chart: I do not chart my temps anymore but I still chart my cycles
What are you most looking forward to now that FALL is finally here?: Pumpkin everything for me too!

@b00kbug: I started probably around a year before. I figure the earlier the better – it certainly doesn’t hurt anything to start prenatals early, and I’ve read there are certain vitamins that you should atually have built up in your system before TTC.

@b00kbug: I started prenatals like 2 weeks ago, and I’m planning to TTC in January..

So I went to order my bridesmaid dress for my BFF’s wedding today – aside from the mere size-shock after being measured (formal dress sizes suck), I talked to them about sizing for pregnancy and ordered a size up just in case! Eeek! The wedding is in May – here’s hoping I’m into my second trimester by then and they get to have the dress fitted around a little bump!

So I guess I’m graduating this board because we officially are TTC now! Pulled the goalie last night and it’s all hands on deck (that was probably one too many analogies there). Soooo excited to be at this place now! You all have been really lovely and supportive. it’s been great knowing that I’m not the only one in this boat. Had a bad day yesterday with finding out three people I know are pregnant and not knowing whether DH was really ready to start. He’s pretty vague sometimes. But had a talk last night and that was that. 🙂

@b00kbug: I just started prenatals a week or so ago, and we are planning to start TTC mid-late November…so about 2 months. I’ve been taking folic acid (which is probably the most important thing you need in early pregnancy) for at least a year, just in case we had an oopsie. When I ran out of folic acid I switched to prenatals. I asked my OB/GYN about prenatals at my last apointment, and she said starting them about 2 months prior should be fine. I don’t think earlier hurts though! 🙂
ETA: ideally starting prenatals (especially folic acid) at least 2 months prior to TTC is also what we learned in pharmacy school. I always recommend that any woman who could get pregnant should be taking folic acid.

@littlebee3: Don’t most prenatals have folic acid though? Or should you take extra then in addition to the prenatal pills?

Age: 29 Husband 41
When will you TTC?: Been trying almost a year 🙁
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: prenatals and exercise. husband is taking estrogen blockers which makes the body naturally produce testosertone. Hes T levels are super slow. He was taking testosterone injections but that makes your sperm count pretty much 0. Hopefully the estrogen blockers will help make some good spermies lol an give him his sex drive back. Been married since August 3rd but trying for about a year. Makes me so sad, all these women who get pregnant the firtst month the quit birth control or even worse who accidently get knocked up on a one night stand!

@b00kbug: I went to my Doctor in Aug and told her we would start trying in Oct and asked if i should start taking prenatals. She said that with a well balanced diet prenatals are not necessary but she prescribed Folic acid. Prenatals have sufficent folic acid in them tho if you want to take them.

@debinoxford: Congrats and baby dust sprinkles your way!

@b00kbug: yes, they do. you should get at least 800 mcg/day if you’re planning to conceive, which is what most prenatals have. I just took plain folic acid until recently, since it was cheaper and I didn’t feel like I needed everything in a prenatal. I was just worried we’d accidentally get pregnant and I wanted to make sure I had sufficient folic acid intake since it’s so important for neurodevelopment. I’m only taking prenatals now.

Age: Both 25 for a few more months. (Will both be 27 when we start TTC)
When will you TTC?: December 2014.
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Nothing really in the way of health. I try to stay decently active and eat right already so when the time comes closer I’ll be starting prenatals when I stop BC.
Do you chart?: I’m still on BC so not yet but I have a fertility friend account and am looking forward to being able to chart when the time comes.
What are you most looking foward to now that FALL is finally here?: Bonfires, s’mores, sweaters and scarves, pumpkins, fall scents, yellow, orange and red leaves, Halloween, football, sweatpants, and fall shows coming back on!
