Is anyone else having pregnancy nightmares?? Dont get me wrong, I am dying to start a family, I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to be at the point where we/I’m ready for that (i just turned 29). But our wedding is in April, our honeymoon is booked, and I’m scared sh*tless that I’ll get KU before the wedding. I’ve dreamt about having to rip open my wedding dress and sew in a lycra belly panel, or having to go buy a hideous maternity wedding dress. Every month around the time that AF is coming I’m on pins & needles even though we are quite careful… please tell me I’m not alone! How do you deal?

@candy11:  Ummm, yes, very much counting down.  And I might only have 3 more cycles until we try! *whooooa!*  If we start trying in January (hopefully!  fingers crossed!), only 3 months to go!

@b00kbug:  My list:

  • Work on my dissertation (that’s always on the list!)
  • Keep working out, + I’m in training to be a group fitness instructor.  I’ll hopefully be getting certified in about a month.
  • Getting our house organized (it’s gotten a bit messy) and decorating for fall! (that’s my project for this weekend)

@Almost Mrs.P:  I’m not nervous about it, but Darling Husband is.  But we actually had a talk about it this morning – I’ve been charting now for 3 cycles, feel pretty confident about being able to recognize my ovulation, and so I think we’re finally going to ditch condoms after O (thank god!  I hate them).

@PeachBee:  Congrats, and best of luck! 🙂

@MrsM914:  Thanks for the input!  Everything I’ve been reading says it could take up to 3-6 months for your body to get back on track.  I think that’s what frustrates me about all of this!  So much uncertainty!

@Charliejeorge:  i had a nightmare the ither night i delivered a baby and my husband died! I just tell myself it was a dream-not a reality. Anything can happen but we get to choose if we will live our life in fear while in reality.

I met a friend’s baby this week and she is so sweet. Ugh, it was so wonderful but still, makes it so much harder. Another friends’ baby shower is tomorrow and today on FB a third friend announced her pregnancy. I’m really feeling left behind at this point and Darling Husband isn’t helping. On one hand, he says “I was ready four months ago.” On the other hand, he’s considering a cooperative position with a company that would last eight months, seven hours away from where we live, and would push off his graduation to winter 2014 instead of this spring. I know he doesn’t expect to knock me up and then move away for the entire pregnancy, so how he thinks this would work is questionable and I didn’t even bother to ask how he thought that would work. We’re also finding it difficult to find a renter for our condo even though the rental market it super tight and it’s a great location/space. My plan is not working out the way I thought it would. It’s also cold/rainy/gray right now and I swear the SAD is already setting in.

@b00kbug:  This is a great idea!

  • finish knitting baby sweater for a friend’s baby
  • finish knitting DH’s infinity scarf
  • start knitting afghan, hats, and glittens
  • start a new workout at the gym, focus on deadlifts and cleans
  • read the books on my nook and a few others in my library queue
  • buy a new winter coat
  • do some canning
  • hopefully get the condo rented out!

Ohhhhhhh fun!!

Age: 29  (yikes…just turned it last week.  Still not used to that!)

When will you TTC?: Now!  Happened to be ovulating on our Honeymoon (according to my little my days app) so we went for it.  Not expecting much but who knows!

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?:  Started prenatals last night, limiting caffiene. Been of BC for years.  Researching the hell out of fertility.

Do you chart? Link to the chart:  Just started dabbling.  Going to buy a basal therm guy on the way home.

What are you most looking forward to now that FALL is finally here?: Uhhhhhhhhh everything.  I am such a fall person and being from Chicago, we usually have quite the season!  So excited to have life back after wedding and ready to dive into PSL, mums, orange and black, boots, scarves and sweaters!

@emelee:  I guess it just depends on whether or not you are charting.  It doesn’t really matter if your cycle is on track or not if you aren’t charting, I guess.

just ordered TCOYF so i’ll be able to read it and prepare for going of BCP sometime in November– we will be using it more for prevention the 1st couple of months until we can determine the length of my cycle, pin point when i ovulate, etc.

DH’s cousin just got induced to give birth to the 1st baby (for our generation) on that side so everyone is anxious! it definitely doesnt help the baby fever tho!

@emelee:  My gyno said about 2 months.  Well, honestly he said 2 months taking folic acid and one month off the pill!

@MrsM914:  I wanted to chart, which is one reason I want to go off earlier.  I read TCOYF and think I understand it pretty well…. but we’d be TTA for the first few months and I’m not sure if I want to chance it before we are ready if it takes me a little bit to get the hang of it.

@Swizzle:  Thanks for the input.  I think I remember my gyno saying I could be on it up until I want to TTC…. but for some reason I have it stuck in my head that we are going to have trouble conceiving.

@Mrs.Elivs:  Thats true, I’m as careful as can be and it’s up to me whether I worry about it or not… I’m a worry-wart, so I will just have to keep reminding myself that we’re responsible people and life’s too short to worry about things that likely wont happen when we’re as careful as we are. Thanks for that reminder!

@Swizzle:  Same here!  My mom had a lot of trouble getting and staying pregnant, but not for any diagnosable reason that I know of.  And I really don’t have any indication to think I will have trouble but I am just worried that it’s going to take like 5 years and I’ll wish we would have started earlier.  Trying to stay rational here but it is hard!
