We have been discussing when we will begin TTC lately – so excited to have a timeline. We are both ready but have some big changes in the next 6 months (moving, finishing post-grad) so I want to wait until we get settled.

Age/DH’s age: 25/27

When will you TTC?:  June 2015

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?:  Still have some time. I want to lose a little weight before pregancy – healthy eating and making excercise more of a priority. Need to remove my IUD – likely March. Then I will start vitamins.

Do you chart? Link to the chart: Not yet – maybe post IUD.

When did you know you wanted to have kids? Always ๐Ÿ™‚ But only started discussing timeline recently.

Wow, lots of Oct. 2014 roll callers, popular month!

Age/DH’s age: Both 26, will be 27 when TTC.

When will you TTC?: December 2014

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Started Prenatals last November, stopped BCP in March and started charting with FF, taking Pregnitude to help shorten and regulate my long cycles and it also supports healthy eggs, trying to eat healthy with smaller portion sizes and need to get a better exercise routine going with DH.

Do you chart? Link to the chart: Yes and I love it! http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/mrsfairybee

When did you know you wanted to have kids? Well, always I guess, but became more excited about it after the wedding, and now two years later we’re pretty much both ready for this next journey together! ๐Ÿ™‚

Age/DH’s age:  I’m 30, and my husband is 29.

When will you TTC?:  May 2015. Ideally, we’d love to have a baby in the summer time as that would be the best for maternity leave. But we’ll see!

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?:  I’m in an evening master’s program and would love to be almost done with that by the time we have kids as I work full-time, too. I went off birth control earlier this year, and we are just using condoms now. I’m also taking multivitamins every day to get that folic acid bit. Started an exercise routine but haven’t kept on it – getting off BC ended up making me gain a few lbs so need to get on that. There are also a few house projects and saving up to replace one of our older cars that would help financially as well, but aren’t necessarily deal breakers to go ahead and TTC.

Do you chart? Link to the chart: I did for a few months but haven’t been lately.

When did you know you wanted to have kids? I’ve always wanted kids ๐Ÿ™‚ We bought a house last year with more than enough room and my job is pretty chill. We’re just finally in a spot financially and emotionally – we don’t feel that having kids will change our lifestyle too much. Our 109lb yellow lab is like a big baby anyway!

Age/DH’s age: We both just turned 29

When will you TTC?:  Not completely sure… we can’t decide if we want to turn 30 first or start trying sooner.  A few months ago we were thinking October/November 2014 but as it gets closer we think maybe next year.  No idea!!

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?:  We’ve both read Bringing up Bebe (awesome book) and I’ve decided I’m not going to look into the “What to Expect” line of books from a lot of reviews I’ve read.  I’m hoping to figure out some thyroid and other medical issues in the next 3 months and lose 10lb/just go to the gym regularly together if I can’t lose weight.  I’ve been on prenatal vitamins for a year, so I’m just now working on taking better ones and figuring out the doses that I need for my preexisting health issues.  We also need to cut back on alcohol.

Do you chart? Link to the chart:  Nope. I’m still on the pill and terrified of stopping for PMDD/acne/cramp reasons.

When did you know you wanted to have kids? We’ve always wanted kids together, and I’ve wanted to be a mother since I was a small child.  As far as a serious case of “babies rabies” as a PP said, that’s been in the past 3 months.

Age/DH’s age: 24/28

When will you TTC?: Not sure yet – hopefully within the next year!

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Taking folic acid and trying to eat healthier. I have my preconception appointment at the diabetes centre in a couple of weeks and I’m hoping that they will tell me that my blood sugar control is perfect and that we can start TTC as soon as we are ready. We are also getting ready to renovate what will be the future nursery

Do you chart? Link to the chart: TCOYF: http://tcoyf.com/members/Janelle123/charts/36.aspx

and I have recently started a FF chart as well: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/Janelle123

When did you know you wanted to have kids? I’ve always known I wanted to be a mother but even a few months after Fiance and I started dating I knew I wanted to have his babies. We got together when I was 17 so I have been visualising our future children for some time now! My baby fever started getting bad when I was 21 after we had an “oopsy” that ended in MC. I am proud of myself for keeping the baby rabies in check and waiting until we are financially ready. I am so excited that we are almost ready to start this new chapter in our lives!

ruby26:  Hey TTC buddy, welcome back from vacay! How was it?

Roll Call!

Age/DH Age: 25/26

When did you knwo you wanted to have kids? I’ve always known I wanted kids as has DH. It’s just always been something I’ve wanted and I’m lucky that DH wants it as badly as I do.

Thanks so much for starting the new list !!

Age/DH Age: 28/28 (but I’ll be 29 next month)

When will you TTC: December 2014 although I keep praying DH will throw caution to the wind as we get closer…

What are you doing to get ready to TTC: exercise regularly. Thinking about maybe buying a book. Will have to start charting again soon, and buy folic acid / prenatals maybe in September.

When did you know you wanted to have kids? Since about 19 I’ve wanted to have them, although thankfully the baby rabies waxes and wanes ๐Ÿ™‚ Pretty sure when I was a kid I also wanted to be a mum someday. But my sister was the one everyone said was great with children. I had (and still have!) no idea what to do to keep them entertained.

DH’s nephew is due in a couple weeks. They live on the other side of the country so we won’t get to meet him until Christmas. It’s going to be one torturous Christmas – lol. But at least we’ll have ‘pulled the goalie’ by then. Still crossing my fingers that the baby looks like his mum and not his Dad (DH’s brother, who looks a lot like DH)… if that baby favours DH’s looks and I see photos of him on FB all the time I’m going to go a little insane.

RunnerBride13:  Thanks for the new thread!

Age/DH’s age: I’m 30, DH is 34

When will you TTC?:  Aaaah this just got interesting ladies. Let’s keep me as November 2014 for right now, but I was just perusing the HR documents from my new employer and learned that some paid maternity leave exists, and kicks in a bit sooner than FMLA would. Our TTC date is set primarily to make sure my job is safe under FMLA rules, but if the employer has some different policies that don’t require 12 full months of employment for eligibility… well… why wait??

I’m going to try to set up an appointment to talk with the HR rep in the next week or so to clarify the policies (FX please), and then DH and I will reevaluate things if need be. I know he’s ready to get going, haha!

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?:  Prenatals, charting my cycles, and generally trying to live healthily. We are also trying to make sure we soak up as much of this “just us” time as we can — we are excited for kids but also know that this early stage of marriage is precious too, and it’s a daily exercise to make sure I’m not wishing it away while waiting to TTC.

Do you chart? Link to the chart:  http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/brlabrat

When did you know you wanted to have kids? Honestly, I never wanted kids until about a year after DH and I started dating (so, 6 years ago ish), but my relationship with him has changed me in a big way and really opened up a desire to start a family. I had been in serious relationships before but was never able to commit to the idea of marriage or children with those guys… let’s just say DH is the only man I’ve ever met who has made me think the thought, “Yes, I would like to be an accomplice in passing on your genetic material to the rest of humanity.” lol

Janelle123:  I understand when you say you waited after your oopsie and didn’t let the baby rabies get to you. We had an oopsie and a loss in June and at first I wanted to TTC right away, but that wasn’t the original plan and so we went back to our responsible timeline and are currently playing the shut-it-up-pack game in regards to me bringing up ttc/babies/pregnancy at the moment so that we don’t go crazy. Breath! Wow, holy run-on sentence! I’m glad to know someone else on this board understands those conflicting emotions, even though I’m not happy either of us had to deal with MC in the first place. FX for sticky healthy happy little ones when it’s time to TTC! : )

MrsFairyBee:  MC’s are a tough thing to go through. I’m so sorry for your loss. Although I still get upset sometimes, I have had so long to get past the pain of it all and it sucks that it is still so fresh for you. Thankfully, you will be ready to TTC soon and although it won’t make the pain of a loss disappear, I’m sure it will help. FX for a sticky baby for you on your first TTC cycle . I also recently tried to stop talking about babies to Fiance but it only lasted just short of 2 weeks lol. He told me he was sick of me talking about babies then less than 2 weeks later he wanted to start NTNP (very confusing). So I’m back to talking about babies all the time because I figure he must of missed it haha. Good luck with your SIUP!

Age/DH’s age:23 and 26

When will you TTC?: Novemeber 2014

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: loads of researching/readung, financial planning, drinking less, exercise more etc.

Do you chart? Link to the chart: I have been doing a bit of practise charting but I am still on BCP so won’t link chart until I’m off.

When did you know you wanted to have kids? I already have a 4 year old son. When I got married at the start of this year both my husband and I agreed to have babies sooner than later so that my son can have siblings sooner. Plus, I really am just itching to have more babies!

ruby26:  I know. I can’t believe it’s already that time again. I go back to work next Wednesday and the kids start the 19th. When do you start?

I’ve applied to be an Online Instructor this school year for some of our kids who want to take an English course online (I’m not sure if it is as well as their regular schooling, if they’re home schooled, or what). This means extra money whis is going straight to house downpayment/savings!
