Hahah I am sorry I missed out on thirtsy thursday with y’all last night. I may have had a few glasses of wine myself.  I try to avoid talking babies when I’m drinking because it usually doesn’t end well. What I have found is that once AF comes around I cannot stop talking about it. I don’t know if it’s hormones or if AF is just another reminder that we’re not trying yet, but yea DH always knows when it’s that time of the month because I won’t shut up about.

That being said, it looks like we might delay our timeline because we’re under contract on a plot of land! We had started to look at houses and hoped to have something around the time we start TTC in October, but we found this lot in the perfect area and we couldn’t say no! There hasn’t been much time to talk about it, but I don’t think I can handle being pregnant AND building a house all at once. Keep me as October for now, but that might be changing as we figure all of this out…

And here’s my roll call!

Age/DH’s age: 28/32

When will you TTC?: October 2014?

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?:  Taking prenatals, eating better, working out, reading some baby books!

Do you chart? Link to the chart:  Yup I chart, but I’m terrible at logging my data

When did you know you wanted to have kids? Right around the time we got married. I never wanted kids, but DH did. Right around the time I started warming up to having kids he said he didn’t think he wanted them. Caused a lot of stress right around the wedding, but I think our wants are finally starting to line up again. πŸ™‚

mrscorgi:  Thanks for participating in Thirsty Thursday (or Friday) with me last night ladies! I might have also gotten re-involved in Farmville on fb for an hour instead of going to bed at a good time. lol. Nerd-alert!

As for caffeine, I only drink pop with alcohol…gosh this makes me sound like an alcoholic, I swear I’m not. I just don’t see the benefits of pop with all those chemicals and sugars in it during the day. It’s too good with a little rum added to give up completely though. And I used to drink coffee but the caffeine really set off my nerves and made me feel anxious all day, which is not fun when you already have an anxiety problem, so I stopped cold. I miss the taste but not the effects on my body. Water is now my best friend, haha!

I also won’t make DH do anything crazy or specific when TTC unless we don’t get pregnant in the first 3 months or so of trying. We already had an oops without doing anything special, so I know it’s possible for us.

Mrs. Coyote:  Feel free to come join us in the December TTCers if you decide to push back your timeline a little bit due to the house; it’s a happy month! And congrats on a plot of land! πŸ˜‰

amyinbrisbane:  You don’t have to give up caffine when TTC. It’s just that a lot of people do, knowing that pregnancy = less caffine consumption allowed (8oz a day is considered to be the acceptable amount when pregnant, although some say that is overly conservative). It’s easier for some people to reduce the caffine consumption ahead of time, rather than waiting until their BFP.

Mrs. Coyote: Congrats on finding the perfect plot of land for a house. That’s awesome news. πŸ™‚

Age/DH’s age: 27/27 (FI and I will be 28/28 at time of TTC)

When will you TTC?: September 2015. Was originally going to wait until a year after our wedding.  Due to my recently diagnosed endometriosis we’ve decided to TTC right after our wedding instead, possibly on our honeymoon.

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Try to lose some weight to get healthier, pay down debt, back on the pill for now to help control the endo until we are ready.

Do you chart? Link to the chart: Not yet. Back on BC pills for now.

When did you know you wanted to have kids? Ever since I was little pretty much. Fiance and I really want at least 1 child. If we can afford another later on, then 2.

Mrs. Coyote:  I totally agree with you!  I always get super baby crazy right when AF arrives.  I think it’s a combination of knowing that we’re still waiting and how sad and hormonal I get.  Plus now that we’re getting so close to trying every time I get AF I know that we are one cycle closer…

Also, you and I are TTC buddies (October!) so hopefully you can keep your timeline!  But I also hope everything goes OK with buying that plot of land, so I totally understand why you’d want to push back TTC.  My parents recently built a house and they kept saying the house would be done, but then something else would come up and it would get pushed back another month or so.

Krispi:  My DH is on the fence about quitting drinking when/if I get pregnant. I don’t really drink any alcohol at all, so it’s not like I’d miss it and he’d be rubbing it in my face, but he doesn’t like the idea of doing something I’m unable to do.

MrsFairyBee:  Oh man. DH and I ALWAYS talk baby when we do drink. We went to my college roommate’s wedding a few weeks ago, and during the father-daughter dance he got all misty-eyed about how that will be him someday. It was so sweet. I was on AF, so it didn’t really mean we could do anything about it, but in the moment we were like LETS DO THIS NOW THATS A GREAT IDEA.

nutmeg36:  That sounds adorable! I can’t watch a father-daughter dance without bawling like a baby! DH never talks about anything except coaching little league for his sons some day (He’s convinced we will have two boys because his family’s last 3 generations(down the hislastname side) have all had boys. “its the (hislastname) curse” he calls it lol.

Bearsy:  Good to see so many active December-TTC’ers ! I wonder if this will make our Christmas’s more special or more anxious (due to TWW). Do you think it’s too early to try and figure out when we will O in December? I tried to work that out the other month but since then my cycle shifted by a couple days. Just waiting to see if my boss approves my annual leave because that will determine what days DH and I will be apart (if any).

I’m currently drinking a cup of coffee πŸ˜‰ I think that when/if I see those 2 pink lines that’ll be enough for me to stop cold-turkey. Although no coffee and wine for 9+ months is really going to suck! But as DH says ‘Yay, you will have to be designated driver for all that time!’ … nice of him to see the silver lining

What are you ladies doing this weekend? The Brisbane show (funfair?) has come to town so we are going and will go on some rides and eat some pretty unhealthy food. Can’t wait!
