candy11:  I agree with you. It’s totally unfair at times, especially because we’re all taking what I would consider the responsible path. It’s like, come on? Can’t you just cut a break? I guess I’ll look at this whole situation and remind myself that now may just not be the right time for us. this is a bad path to go down, but I can’t help it. I currently have two pregnant students (17/18 years old) and on a survey I gave at the beginning of the year, both replied they didn’t work and hoped to soon. I know so many people (us included) who want to have a child, but are waiting to be responsible, and then there are these kids. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think being a teen parent is horrible or the end of the world, but it’s hard to see at a time when I’m ready, DH isn’t, but we’re stable and responsible.

Janelle123:  Thanks. Who knows what will come of this? But you’re right. Even if this isn’t our time, at least my LP seems to be lengthening!

@RunnerBride13: I agree with the other ladies, I would make sure to exclude the temps when you were still on BCP as you want to give FF every chance to ‘work it out’. By not giving it the whole picture it may do weird things, hell- I’ve seen it do funny things even when it gets the whole story!

@Krispi: Your poor DH- I can see why he’s a bit nervous! Doesn’t make it easy for you though, it’s harder when they’re not 100% sold to then convince yourself you’re doing the right thing. I’m sure it will all work out =) 2 days left of BCP!! Eeeee! How exciting for you!

AFM, gosh it’s getting harder and harder to wait!! I’ve been taking prenatals for all of two weeks now and it’s like a switch has flipped. It’s like my brain is saying “well, you’re well on your way now, so lets just abandon all plans and go for it.” I work a 9 day fortnight and find that my days off are the cruelest for baby brain going into overdrive. I guess it’s just having time to fill in- I’ve worked out the day we can start trying, how much maternity leave I will get (and how much I will be paid), what colours for the nursery, every other detail possible, yeah. I finally feel like it’s the ‘perfect’ time to have a baby. Plus it’s my day off today and TCOYF arrived yesterday. I think I love to tourture myself. ha.

I do have some reservations though. My bestest friend in the world has been TTC for 18 months and is going down the IVF route next month. Another 2 close friends are struggling to concieve, one has been TTC for around 8 months and hasn’t ovulated once in that time. She’s taken Clomid for 2 months, and is about to triple the dose for her last shot “naturally” before IVF. Then the other girl is going into her 3rd cycle of IVF for her 3rd bub (last 2 were unsuccessful). I’m not even TTC yet and I worry about all these situations that could be… Like what if I were to get KU on the first try? What if their IVF doesn’t work and I’m preggo without them? How would they feel? What if I have trouble too and I’m wasting time now waiting to TTC? For some strange reason it feels like I’d be cheating on my BFF by starting to TTC in Dec if she’s not preggo by then or even if she is, then taking away her limelight. Urgh, too much thought going on over here!

KatiePi:  I know, it’s especially sad when you see not ready teenage girls get pregnant. That’s why I think this whole pregnancy thing is pure luck. Maybe there is a bigger plan, and if not being pregnant right now is for the best, I’ll take it as hard as it is. That doesn’t mean I don’t get sad, cry, think/obsess about it. You’re facing this with a great attitude, and I wish that next time you guys try, you get your BFP fast. Sorry your DH is not feeling ready. My DH was like this for a long time, he is getting more comfortable with the idea; although, he doubts at times.

Krispi:  I know how you feel about alone time. I bounce back and forth between crazy baby fever and a huge fear of how much is going to change once we have kids. Sometimes I wish we would have an “oops” so the decision would be made haha!

LiliKitty:  Not Too Much Information for me!! Very helpful!! My symptoms are kind of similar, but again I never thought anything of it. 5-6 days of spotting before AF starts. Then AF is REALLY heavy for 2 days. Then over the next few days it gradually lightens up. I feel like I am always needing to wear some sort of pad/pantyliner and tampons for 2 weeks every cycle. I am also very cyclical so I know when the spotting is going to start, but it is SO ANNOYING because it lasts so long. So (for you) this is a sign of low progesterone?

Mrs. Coyote:  Haha! I’d like to have an “oops” for the same reason

Mrs. Coyote:  Yep, as Nurse Mom explained (and I read from researching), if I do have low p the heavy spotting is because the progesterone doesn’t get/stay high enough to keep AF at bay. I also hear ya on the surprise child. It’d be so much easier that way!

KatiePi:  I feel so terrible for you. This is so rough. I’m not trying to get your hopes up but maybe, maaaybe? the test was faulty and it just wasn’t going to show up? But even then, at 14DPO you’d think it’d be more than a super squinter. Are you going to take another one tomorrow morning? Update us if you do.

candy11:  Yeah, that is hard to see. DH is almost ready, and I do totally agree with saving even more money before baby, so I get where he’s coming from. We had a good talk tonight and we’re both feeling a lot better. FX to you guys too-hopefully BFP comes soon when you start trying again!

LiliKitty:  Maybe, but I just went to the restroom and saw a little red blood. I have a feeling my temp drops tomorrow and AF arrives. But the silver lining! No baby yet (bummer), but finally a longer LP which will be good for TTC next summer, Greece next June, and Colorado next July. 10 months is nothing in the grand scheme. Thanks for the kind words!

KatiePi:  Thanks! On the bright side, your LP might have lengthened. Greece and Colorado both sound lovely!

peanut88:  I spot about a day or two before my period. This cycle has been more, but I think that is due to my LP lengthening. Should I get my progesterone checked at my next annual exam (Feb) before TTC?

Anyone stop taking BC pills midcycle? I’ve taken 3 active day pills but am official going off it now. I know it’s not advised but I didn’t think it’d hurt too much, and the soon to ovulate the better! I’m hoping to ovulate in the next month but obviously I have no idea if I will or not. I have about 20 OPKs and plan to start temping tomorrow AM. Anyone have suggestions when to start using OPKs since I took three pills already. I’d technically be cycle day 8 right now, but I know it’ll be thrown off.

MrsFairyBee: That sounds like a goon plan! Good luck! I use a paper chart. I have transferred some of it over to online, but between online charts I think I prefer TCOYF.

Mrs. Coyote:  So NOT TMI! I meant number of days. I feel like usually I was looking at like 3 days, but this cycle it was SEVEN. Literally every day after my peak+3, when sex would be “safe” again (TTA for a while here). It’s my second cycle off the pill and I really hope that’s the reason why, even though last cycle it was only 3-4 days. It’s brown and light. I also have tail end brown bleeding after my period, which I want to say lasts 2-3 days.

Sooo you may have to move me back to January. I’m not 100% sure but hubby keeps forgetting our chats and said; Aren’t we starting to ttc from the new year? Which is kinda frustrating as we had discussed October. He wanted to get his new car sorted out before we locked in a month. We bought the car and picked it up last week and I haven’t brought up babies since then! I’m waiting for him to bring it up. Sometimes I go from wanting to go off the pill ASAP and sometimes I feel fine to wait until next year. My mind just goes back and forth! Sometimes I even think we should wait until after we’ve been married a year which would be April. But then I’m like, why wait, what if I have trouble falling! Gah! It’s to confusing lol. So for now, so I don’t get my hopes up lets move me to January 2015, a happy balance between October and April, lol!
