RunnerBride13:  That sounds like a production.  Both of our extended families are all over the country… we just booked plane tickets for Thanksgiving involving layovers.  Ugh, that will be a fun time of year to hang out in airports!  It sounds like you and your family are very in touch despite the distance, though.

jammer62:  That’s what it costs to fly to my in-laws rather than driving… and I literally have never done it as a result.  DH used to fly home a lot before we started dating, but once there were two of us, the plane tickets just don’t seem worth it.    I imagine that will only get worse when you add in plane tickets for kiddos!  And, sorry to hear that your first cycle of BCP is stressful!  If it helps, my BFF got her BFP on her first cycle off…. she had to get a dating ultrasound because she never even got her period, just got KU.  So there’s that possibility!

Krispi:  It took my body a few cycles too…  when I went off I had some lighter, then really heavy, then back to lighter.  It’s been almost a year and for the past 4-6 months, I think my cycles are similar to what they were before I ever went on the pill.

journeyintime:  Exciting developments for you guys!  Would this be moving up your timeline significantly?  I take Nature Made prenatals with DHA:  http://www.amazon.com/Nature-Made-Prenatal-Multi-Softgels/dp/B005G4YCHW  Also a fish oil supplement with omega-3s.

candy11:  I have totally been in that situation with wondering if someone is preggo!  Though someone I know recently posted a story on FB about being asked by a cashier if she was pregnant.. and she’s not.  She’s also tall and thin so it’s kind of random that the cashier even thought that!  I took it as a cautionary tale to never ask.

journeyintime:  I’m just taking the prentatal that has DHA +Omega-3s added.  And a probiotic gummy, but that’s not relavant to TTC.

Do you mind me asking what the raspberry leaf tea suppliments do?  I was drinking the tea last cycle and ended up with a shorter than average cycle (31 instead of my usual 40+), and I wasn’t sure if I should keep up the raspberry leaf tea or not, because I read that it can make your cycle wonky (apparently it mimics estrogen?), so I didn’t know if my cycle was actually normal or just looked normal because it was off kilter.

UsagiTsukino:  I’ve been doing research and everywhere I seem to find that it says it can help with fertility and help regulate your cycles. I’ve been on the pill for 8 years and I’m hoping it will help regulate them when I’m off it next month. I haven’t had them before but am waiting for them to arrive in the mail. I can let you know my feedback once I use them if you like? πŸ™‚

SaltedCaramel: Well all along my husband has been saying early next year, which in his mind was around April. Before our recent discussion we had decided to discuss the subject again in the new year so I’m pretty stocked him bringing it forward to next month!

arielmerms:  That’s a nice distance. Not too far to drive there and back in an afternoon, but you definitely won’t have to worry about any unexpected visitors!

jammer62:  I have to 100% agree about charting! We still won’t be TTC until end of June, and by then I’ll have been charting almost 2 years. I guess we’ll see then if it helps, but I love knowing all this about my body! (For example, I’m on cycle day 44 and my average cycle is 35 days long. Totally would have been thrown off if I didn’t know that I ovulated way late!)

candy11:  I feel like I’m that coworker that all my colleagues are trying to guess about. Even the one male teacher asked me what I’m waiting for. Actually, his exact words were… “That’s what alcohol is for. Pour yourself something to drink and pull the goalie!” Haha.

SaltedCaramel:  Boo for your doctor! That’s uncalled for. It’s not like you have the medical training to know what’s safe and not! Ugh.

Oh! I forgot to answer the question!

We live about 10 minutes from my parents, and 10 minutes from DH’s parents (in opposite directions). Neither of our families are the “drop by” type. We’re lucky if his parents show up at our house when they are specifically invited over. Mother-In-Law just prefers to have people over at their house. And my parents are too busy to just come over unannounced.

It IS nice though because my dad has come by a time or two when I’ve locked myself out and Father-In-Law has come over when our sump pump stopped working during a storm and helped us un-flood our basement.

DH and I love where we live. Our house still has a ton of things that I’d love to change, but we really like the location.

We live about 25 minutes from my parents and 45 from his! Both sets work full time, but my mom is a nurse so she will have more days off. We wll still probably need child care a few days a week..it will just depend on my schedule once I graduate nursing school. The 3 day schedule is definitely a perk of my career choice!

Charliejeorge:  Congrats! You just participated! πŸ™‚ We just chit chat about stuff. Sometimes it’s about every day life, sometimes it’s about the anguish (or lack thereof) of having to wait to TTC.

RunnerBride13:  Getting married and buying a house were our major items. Got married in February, bought a house a little over a year ago, soooo we’re all set on the biggies. Next on our list: We need to get another car before we start TTC – we currently only have one. I’d like to do a minor redo of our kitchen before a baby but it’s not dire so it will probably get put off to do while I’m pregnant or after a kiddo comes along.

LiliKitty:  haha thanks! I didnt want to read all 17 pages in order to join in the convo, and wasnt really sure how to just jump in lol.

 RunnerBride13:  Awesome, thanks! Here goes!

Age/DH’s Age:  29 (30 next month) / 32

When will you TTC?: Not entirely sure yet, we discussed waiting until after my Birthday (early Oct), but then his family invited us to join them on a trip to mexico in Feb and I’m worried about planning a trip knowing I could have horrible morning sickness and it would be a waste, so we talked about waiting until after that. I’m having a lot of trouble waiting but DH is scared spitless of the responsibility of children, so he’s happy to wait lol

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Spending lots of time with our little relatives, trying to remember vitamins, trying to start eating healthier, exercise more, saved lots of wedding gift cards for baby furniture, trying to gets debts paid down.

Do you chart?: No, I dont chart… I’m, honestly not even entirely sure what all involved, but sure seems like a lot of work lol

Soooo it’s official. Tomorrow will be my last BCP. I need to get my hormones checked and in order to do that I need to be off the pill for 3 months. I’m going to chart to see if anything is happening in the meantime. This should be interesting.

Question of the week: What was/is on your before baby bucket list?

DH has nothing left on his baby bucket list; he’d be ready to start trying tomorrow. I still have 2 things, but I’m not sure they’ll happen. I wanted to pay off my school loans and car (accomplished that this year), run a marathon (one month from now!), and travel to NYC with DH and my bro&his fiancee, and also go to Miami with my 3 SILs. Those 2 trips probably won’t happen because of the weddings coming up in the spring/summer (my twin bro in May & DH’s sis in June). We’ll be pretty strapped because of our involvement in both of those weddings, so travel isn’t really going to be in the cards. We’ve done a lot of traveling, though, so it’s not a huge disappointment. Now we’re just waiting until SIL’s wedding is over in June so I don’t have to worry about being tired and pregnant during all that. <br />
