Let’s do a question of the day…How many kids do you want?

Ideally we want 2 or 3.  If for some reason I cannot have a third (or second for that matter), we would really like to adopt!

DH and I are both 1 of 3, so we know we want at least 2.

Although AF hasn’t shown, I think she’ll show either today or tomorrow so no BFP for me, which was slightly disappointing but also a huge relief. I didn’t want to have to tell my bestie that I was pregnant so soon after her MC. Now we can continue with our plan.

RunnerBride13:  Ideally we’d like two, one boy and one girl. I’m pretty sure if we have two girls he’ll want to go for a third to get a boy, but maybe not. I had a brother and it was awesome once we were adults. We were 6.5 years apart so growing up like that wasn’t always great. DH is an only child and he liked it that way but I refuse to have an only child unless that’s the way it has to be.

My friend who is leaving her current position (leaving the other one open for someone new) posted that she did get the other job and she’s so happy blah blah. Kinda made me go…I hope I’m not making a mistake!

Alright, I’ll join! I’ve been on Weddingbee for a couple of years, but am starting a new, more private account post wedding. Thanks for starting this thread!

Age/DH’s age: We are both 28.

When will you TTC?:  We are planning on August 2015.

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: I just finished Taking Charge of Your Fertility after the recommendations on this board. For now it’s just fun things like pinning nursery ideas. I’ll stop BC and start taking prenatals likely in May or June.

Do you chart? Link to the chart: I will when I get off the pill. I’m strangely excited to start charting.

If you had boy and girl twins today, what would you name them?: Right now, I’d name them Sam and Amelia.

And we are planning on 2 kids, maybe 3 especially if we don’t have one of each gender.

Good luck to those making job decisions! I’m struggling with that right now myself. Do I change to a more child-friendly job while I’m pregnant or after maternity leave? We will see!

LittleRiver:  Thanks! It was TOUGH, but I’ve realized I am waaaay more excited about having a baby then any job lol.

My husband officially has baby rabies. He thinks all little kids are “adorable”, he brings up wanting to be “this or that kind of parent” and everytime he hears a name he likes, he makes sure to comment on it. I LOVE this phase 🙂

Marvelousthings:  Welcome!

So I finally had the genetics appointment yesterday. It was actually really informative! The genetics counsellor went over a whole bunch of stuff about cystic fibrosis and took a really detailed family history. They will be testing both myself and DH for CF as well as a blood disorder that is common in people with Italian ancestry, like we are. It was comforting because she said that even before testing, just by looking at our family history, we probably have about a 1/800 chance of concieving a child with CF. I think those odds are pretty good, but we’ll have to wait 4-6 weeks for the actual results. Apparently if I was PG, they could speed up the results . But I asked her if we should just wait to TTC until we get the results and she said that since we would probably be trying to concieve anyways (regardless of the results, just knowing the actual risks) that there is really no point in waiting. They cannot actuallly test the fetus for CF until 12.5 at the earliest anyways. So even if we were to get PG this 1st cycle trying (FX!), we would have the results back by then and know whether there was a chance that we would have to have the special testing done at 12.5 weeks.

All in all, it was pretty comforting. Yes, there is a risk, but it seems to be low. I’ll be glad when we get the results back so that we can either deal with it head on, or put it behind us.

Now, to actually get DH to the lab to get his blood drawn…
