RunnerBride13:  Thank you for adding me! I copy and pasted the roll call on my phone and it went a little crazy as you can see. Sorry about that!

So I’m  curious… I’m assuming most of us are on this thread because we are suffering from some baby fever whike waiting! I’m wondering how many of us have told our SO’s about ouour baby fever? Mine is well aware and thinks it’s  cute. He says if it’s meant to happen before our TTC date then it will. I’m still taking the pill but I’m not as picky as I used to be… for example I’m on antibiotics right now but I’m not bothering with backup BC. I did realize though that if I got pregnant right now I would be due near our wedding date! Lol!

So who all talks to your SO about baby fever, and who is less strict with your BC methods?

emilyjean89:  Darling Husband knows I am ready (we start in Feb) – but we’ve had a really concrete agreement about when to start trying for over two years, so I am not less strict with my birth control. I was really strict with it before the wedding especially – I had a super fitted dress and I wanted to be able to drink, party, and enjoy myself on my honeymoon. Even though it wouldn’t be a bad thing if we got pregnant now (post-wedding) I want to honor that agreement. We’ve never used anything but the pill though, so its not hard to just keep taking it at the same time every day.

emilyjean89:  Darling Husband is well aware of my baby rabies. We’re planning to start in February, after our 1 year anniversary, but now he’s talking of wanting a September baby and that means starting at the end of this month (expected to O right around Christmas), but I don’t know if he’ll hold onto that idea when it actually comes time. I’m crossing my fingers that he does AND that if he does I get pregnant right away.

Gah, speaking of possibly starting at the end of this month, Darling Husband made his amaaazing chili last night for dinner. I freakin love the stuff but we make sure not to make it too often, maaaayyybe once a month, so we don’t overdo it. He said “I’m probably going to be making this at least once a week while you’re pregnant to satisfy your cravings.” I agreed, at first, and then I realized this stuff is so sinus-clearing, heartburn-inducing spicy I probably won’t be able to eat it because anything and everything can give a pregnant woman heartburn. Then I ate another bowl because who knows when the next time I’ll be able to chow down on the deliciousness if I find out I’m pregnant in just a month!?  Ohhh the things that go through a baby fevered mind.

emilyjean89:  FI knows about my baby fever because whenever we are out and we see a baby I tell him that I want it lol. Also, after a couple of drinks, babies are all I talk about. Fiance is on board though but he keeps forgetting our TTC date. Whenever we talk babies he mentions TTC straight after the wedding. I have told him that we should wait until the honeymoon (a month later) but recently my baby rabies have been so bad that I haven’t been correcting him haha.

ETA: We use the pull-out method and would be happy with an “oopsies”

emilyjean89:  Darling Husband knows I have the baby rabies… he may not know the full extent of my baby rabies, but he def knows that I can’t wait until we start!

emilyjean89:  He is very aware.  I talk about babies constantly.  We have 2 months to wait, then its go time.  We’re pretty careful, but not as careful as we could be.

koi424:  I do the same.  75% of the time I’m able to wake up, temp and either get up for the day or go back to sleep.  The rest of the time I’m on night shift.

I’m excited to see I’m not alone in the baby-rabies catigory!!! It’s driving me insane. I never saw myself as someone who would get baby fever… but obviously I was SO wrong.  I’m also happy to see I’m not alone in that I would be okay with a “oops.” My Fiance would be too, but I think he just would rather plan our first, considering his daughter was an oops.

What are you guys doing to help curb the rabies?

LiliKitty:  Your chili details made me smile 🙂 I ADORE spicey foods, but the further I get into my 20’s the less happy I am after I eat them. I’m kind of hoping that during pregnancy that is reversed! LOL

I think of odd things myself with the baby mind… my biggest worry is my diet. I don’t eat red meats (I can’t stand the taste and texture) but I love sea food… and with all the fish concerns during pregnancy I know I will greatly miss my sea food…. and I’ll worry about not giving baby enough nutrition since I don’t eat red meat… OR will my hatred turn to love during pregnancy??? Who knows!!!

My husband definitely knows about the baby rabies! We set our TTC date when we got married and would rather not have an oops thanks to school! Oh how I can’t wait until August!

emilyjean89:  I worry about that too!  Aparently its “tradition” that ladies pregnant with boys in my husband’s family crave raw hamburger!  That’s pretty ew on a normal level, but extra ew to someone who hasn’t eaten meat (except seafood) in 12 years!  And actually, that’s when I gave up poultry, I don’t think I’ve eaten a steak in…. 16 years?  Not since I was 13.  Yikes.

Also its cool to hear that so many of you just use the “pull-out” method and are okay with an oops.  Darling Husband and I have been on that track since this summer.  No oops yet, though.

UsagiTsukino:  Believe me I understand!!!! … but… raw meat??? That’s just. Yikes!

I honestly would love to just get off the pill and go to the pull out or just take our chances… I’ve been on the pill for 10 years and I honestly worry that it will take me forever to get pregnant when we do start TTC because of how long I’ve been on it…

emilyjean89:  Well I don’t know if this will help your fears, but: when my parents were thinking about getting married & having kids, my mom went to her doctor, who told her that if she wanted kids in a year she better go off the pill right away, b/c “with her age” (28!) & having been on the pill for 12 years, it could easily take a year or longer to get pregnant.  And… my birthday is pretty much 9 months after her last pill.  So… yeah.
